Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 149: Talk with John and finding some ore! (3)

'His skill is weird…' Lucas thought while frowning inwardly.

Barney's skill made the equipment new with the help of his ability.

It was weird seeing the equipment all new when it was clearly worn out by them just a few moments ago.

"I will go sleep now *Yawn*, bring me more later, it's good for the level-ups."

Just like that, Barney left after getting tired. Lucas and John stayed there silent for a few minutes in their own thoughts.

"This has changed everything, now we can help him level his skill and do much more work than before!"

"I told you things have a way of working out on their own. Let's go and break some more of that stone, god knows how much we have to dig or if it's even worth it."

"I think we have some potential to get something from there, in the whole area where I looked, it was the only one with a high density of stone."

They talked and went back to that place again which was only 2 minutes away from the shelter with normal walk.

Lucas activated his perceptive eyes after reaching there in the hope to see something precious, some aura change or something.

"It's all brown aura emitting out of the land, we should just keep breaking the ground."

"The stone is also needed for the shelter so it's all not for nothing."

The excavation started again.

As Lucas and John resumed their excavation, they found themselves in a rhythm. Lucas used his perceptive eyes to search for any signs of valuable ores or minerals, but so far, it seemed to be just ordinary stone.

Minutes passed and they found nothing, the strength that they exerted was enough to complete the work in only a few minutes.

Unusually, the same work took a lot of time in the primitive days when technological machines were not used for excavation.

"Ah, it's down again…" John said and finally ended his smashing the pickaxe at the ground.

The hole had become even bigger and now the duo had started to broaden the mouth of the hole in order to start making it big as a cave entrance in order to excavate in a slanting direction and not straight.

"But, Lucas. I don't understand why we can't just do straight downward. It would be easier this way."

"Uncle John, imagine we just keep digging downward when suddenly the whole land breaks and we fell into a cave or ravine or something. My sister already confirmed that there are things like this here, there is a big cave near her territory."

"Then there is a possibility to get some mineral from there!" John exclaimed when he got the idea.

"I am not sending my sister to an unknown place! God knows what is lurking inside."

Lucas thought about it and shivered when he got the image of a cave opening which is pitch black and nothing could be seen inside it.

"Well, I may have some unusual ideas but I am not very good with technical stuff like this. It's the reason I am proud that you are a leader."

Lucas just kept looking at John with unknown emotions.

"Why do you believe in me so much?"

Now that there was no one near, Lucas finally asked the main question in person so that John could just answer truthfully.

"I told you before… when I was young… I was just like you, heck I still am like that but I know what happens to people with these types of brains. It makes them divert toward many things and then they get lost." John stated when his eyes became distant again and his face showed the little sadness that seeped out of that hard shell.

Lucas wanted to say that everything was good, that John was good in many things but the thought of him not supposed to say it stopped him.

"But soon, people like us find others that are the right people. They make us have specific plans that make that brain become stable again." John said and stopped, the sun started to set and darkness was seeping in bit by bit but he didn't care and continued.

"That's why I am giving you so many responsibilities… to handle everyone inside the shelter, to handle yourself, to engross you in this stuff so that you don't divert much. I don't want you to make the same mistakes that I made and I will try doing that for however long it will take."

As Lucas heard all this, he couldn't help but feel a bit safe in a weird way. Someone was thinking about his future so much and that person was not even his parent.

It was making Lucas feel a whole new level of safe and happy from inside.

The more he heard, the more he could relate.

'I do tend to divert a lot…'

"... Thank you, Uncle John… thank you."

Lucas said with nothing more to state as after looking at John, he knew that the person already knew how Lucas felt without even telling him about it.

"Alright, enough talk, let's leave before it becomes too dark." John patted Lucas's shoulder and took the pickaxe from the ground and left. Read exclusive adventures at My Virtual Library Empire

Lucas looked at the sky where many stars were twinkling even when the sunlight was still there showing how clear the sky really was.

They went back to the shelter and slept after a very hard day of work.

Lucas even got the idea of handling himself and the shelter in a whole new way.

He even dreamt about making tons of concrete bricks that night which gave double the profits from the meat business.

Strangely, Lucas knew he was in the dream world as nothing seemed to be real other than him making the bricks.

His parents helping him was also a giveaway but still, Lucas felt good to meet with them again even when it was not real…
