Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 228: Romance igniting (1)

"Are you sure you would like to go with me?"

Lucas asked the girl in front of her who was pretty adamant about going with him.

"Yes, I mean, It's my role. So why not?" Sarah said while her arms were crossed just below her chest giving it a more elevated presence.

Lucas tried to ignore them after looking once and talked while looking into her eyes after that, there was a small shy smile on her face as if she was trying to be confident but his gaze had made her flustered anyway.

In Lucas's eyes, he had only made her uncomfortable so after determining to not sway his eyes to temptations again, he gave her the approval to go with him.

"What? Why can't I go with you!?" Jerry shouted dramatically while looking up.

"Because you have to protect the people here!" Lucas said reciprocating the same energy.

"Oh, Okay." Jerry said while scratching his cheek not expecting Lucas to shout like that too.

Lucas smiled in agreement while the others looked at him in awe making the persistent Jerry fall back so soon.

"You ready to go?" Lucas asked her politely, his eyes warm for some reason.

"You bet." Even Sarah said while smiling cheekily.

"Do you think something will happen between them this time?" Haley muttered in Sandra's ear.

"Hahaha~ with how dense he is? Sure."

They had already eaten for the morning and had taken a lot of dried meat that Bill eyed with watery eyes. It was a staple food he ate every day by choice in the jungle.

After two pouches each on both their belts were filled with jerky, they bid farewell to everyone.

"Wow, Uncle John has really changed sending us without any nagging," Sarah said with her hands clasped at the back while looking at Lucas.

It showed how cute she was to Lucas again after a long time.

"Yeah, he says he has confidence in me," Lucas said while puffing his chest feeling proud.

"Hehehe~ I can imagine that." She said with yet another dazzling smile, Lucas shook his head in dismissal, it was not the time to be enjoying looking at her beauty.

He looked around and saw no creature other than those small rats hiding here and there from him yet they couldn't in his eyes.

He did not care about them and Sarah couldn't tell if they were there or not.

"Now that I think about it, it has been a long time since we talked alone like this," Sarah said shyly.

"Yeah, it really has been long. How are you anyway? Any improvements?"

"Oh a lot!" She shouted yet closed her mouth while cussing herself inwardly to scream in a forest filled with monsters.

"Hahaha… you don't have to do this anymore. Shout as much as you want, if anything comes, I will make it into a pulp."

"Alright…" Sarah could tell that he was not telling this to impress her or anything but something he could actually do.

Her eyes became sad and Lucas only noticed it after he felt that she was quiet for all this time.

"What happened?" Lucas asked concerned for her.

"… Nothing. Just worried for you."

"Huh? Why me?"

Sarah looked at Lucas for a little then averted her gaze.

"You have changed for the better Lucas but you have become even more aggressive than before."

'Oh thatt… Well, it's all because of this thing on my arm. I will fix it soon, don't worry." Lucas said with an assuring smile yet for some reason, Sarah didn't believe it.

"You say that but I just think that you don't want to for some reason. It's not, right?" Sarah asked the the same concern.

"Hell no, I control it a lot," Lucas said lying with a plain expression.

In his mind, he had already started thinking of the possibility that he was doing it yet shook his head in dismissal thinking it was all a bull.

"Is that so." She looked at him and then sighed in relief.

"I'm glad!!" She shouted very loud, louder than he had ever seen her.

A grin formed on Lucas's face as if he was proud of her that turned to a laugh too quickly.

"How is your brother?"

"Oh he is fine, with all the meat you provide him, I can't thank you enough."

"Hey, if he's your family, then he's mine too."

"Thank you, it really is assuring to hear that."

They stayed quiet for some while, not because they had nothing else to talk about but for looking around for something to take care of. Your next read is at My Virtual Library Empire

For some reason, Lucas felt very comfortable in her presence, even the silence could be enjoyed with her and Lucas wondered about that.

'I still like her but it's not time… What a pity.' He thought like an old man. It really was not the time for things like this.

He did not want to get swayed by his emotions more than he already was.

"Lucas, look." Sarah pointed to the right.

Lucas looked and after focusing for a second, he saw three creatures of the same kind.

They were far and Lucas was surprised that Sarah could look at things that far. He quickly connected it with his accuracy skill which was in a way related to the eyes.

"Let's go."

"Can I take care of them?" Sarah asked.

Lucas stopped and looked at her with a frown for the first time to which she only reacted with a confused face.

'I didn't know she was going to compete with me for kills. Damn, she just like me!' he thought mistaking her courtesy for something else completely.

"Alright, we will go one one each, no, the last will be mine too. No, scratch that, it is a first come first basis!"

Lucas said and dashed forward making Sarah eat a lot of dirt. She was very confused with what he said, but a smile formed on her face as if she had understood and was totally fine with his behavior.

When she saw him running while smiling, her heart seemed to have also bloomed with happiness.
