Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 227: Bill's return

It was time for the shift to change, Lucas slept like a log while the others started waking up one after the other, the morning came soon but Lucas found that he wanted to sleep a bit more.

The cozy leather pieces were very comfortable to snuggle in and nobody seemed to want to come out, but work had to be done.

After a little more time, around noon according to his perception and the sun's direction, Lucas woke up and had a big surprise.

There were 4 corpses right in the middle of the shelter, these were corpses of some very different yet weak animals.

Animals he had not seen for a long time now, there was even a small rabbit in them.

"What happened?" Lucas asked the one that was nearest to him, the man who was the most sensible one.

"I am as oblivious as you are, they just appeared some time ago on their own."

"On their own? Wait, alive or dead?"

"Dead"

"Hm… maybe it was Bill."

"If it isn't, then I guess we are out of options. Nothing can come in without bypassing the defense which isn't easy."

"Maybe he can tell you?" Lucas looked in his shadow and just a measly second later, John saw a silhouette coming out of it.

Even he was not surprised this time.

"My skill leveled up…" Bill said with a frown written all over his face.

"And you thought I wouldn't be able to sense you? Yeah, good joke."

Bill grumbled over the comment yet still nodded in understanding.

"You were the one that brought these corpses?"

"Yes… After the skill level, I can now take some external stuff with me besides my clothes and equipment. I tried it on multiple things and then came with that rabbit and the others."

"Where did you find this rabbit anyway?" Lucas went and grabbed it by the ears, the rabbit was killed with a clean swipe at its neck, it didn't look to have been miserable at the time of death.

"You won't believe me but it appeared out of nowhere in front of me. literally. Even its level was only 1."

Lucas looked at John with a grave expression.

"But… Wait, I don't understand. It said that the 'Plains of Amaeron' creatures will be spawned, this thing is from Earth just like us."

Lucas while saying it got the description of the rabbit, nostalgia filled his mind when he looked at the same things again.

Origin- Plains of Amaeron

"It's plains of Amaeron…"

Lucas muttered knowing the fact that the same creature had the origin of Earth just like him in the start, why the sudden change, did the creatures get copied?

"I don't care about that but the notifications that came yesterday were true, the territory Is now filled with many types of monsters. I killed a lot that looked dangerous before they could get strong but couldn't bring them back."

"No worries," Lucas said yet his mind went somewhere else.

'I did not account for that, getting strong? That can happen easily… What will happen if a creature is left to live and prey on for a long time, will it become just like the Kobolds? Or worse?'

Questions of many kinds invaded his mind yet again and the situation called for it.

"How did the settlement look like?" John asked Bill while Lucas was in thought.

"It was— It was not good at all. They were all living without making anything like a living settlement or something. But their numbers… around 50 after giving them some time to count. There were still definitely some out for hunt so scratch that to 60."

While he spoke, Lucas and John looked at him dumbly. 60 KObolds? In the settlement?

Lucas felt like his plan for the talk with the Kobolds should be waited upon for now. Nobody knew the plan aside from Barney or even John If he was told by his son.

"If they are around 60, then it is big trouble, Lucas. I think we should scratch the plan I told you about before." John aided with seriousness yet Lucas nodded with less enthusiasm.

Bill looked at the both of them keeping him out of the conversation due to some reason, and didn't care at all. In his mind, there was only thought of going to talk with his friends again.

"Thank you, Bill, have some breakfast first, we will talk later," Lucas said after giving a pat on the shoulder to Bill.

Bill looked at him for a few seconds and nodded, for once in a while, he walked to a place rather than falling from one shadow to another.

"Uncle John, many things are happening at the same time. We need a plan to survive."

"We have to progress the territory, the shelter while also suppressing the population of these spawned creatures and be aware of the threat of the Kobolds. It's… complicated now."

They both talked for a while about taking out some alternatives and methods to take care of all the things.

After they were done, they both looked at each other with perplexed expressions.

"We need more people…"

Lucas said and John nodded with a sigh. Find adventures at My Virtual Library Empire

"We can't do anything big until more people come, but till then, why don't I go out there with Bill and take care of as many creatures as possible? It will be a good idea to get some steam off."

"And when you are gone, others will complete the work, I will make sure of that while all fighters will be left behind that can help protect the shelter."

"Hm?"

"What's wrong?"

"I thought you would be reluctant to me going. And say something like 'how dangerous it is out there' again."

"Dangerous for you or the monsters out there?" John said while holding back a laugh.

But in the end, the both ended up bursting in laughter.

"I am not worried about you after seeing the dead body of the big Kobold. I had confidence in you before but now it has increased more than ever."
