Lego Ninjago: I'm Morro little brother

Chapter 7: Chapter Six: The Frozen Path

With Zane now by his side, Rudra wasted no time leading him away from the ruined village. The young Elemental Master of Ice followed without question, his pale blue eyes scanning their surroundings with quiet intensity. The battle had awakened something deep within him—an instinct he had never felt before. He was still processing what had happened when Rudra stopped abruptly.

"We need to move fast," Rudra said, looking at the map Master Wu had given him. "Cinder and Kai are tracking the bandits who kidnapped Nya. We have to find them before it's too late."

Zane nodded. "Understood. Do you have any idea where they might have taken her?"

Rudra pointed at the jagged peaks to the east. "The Serpentine are known to operate in the Cursed Cliffs. If they're working with the bandits, that's where we'll find them."

Without another word, the two began their trek towards the cliffs. The journey was treacherous—steep paths, loose rocks, and howling winds threatened their every step. But as they moved, Rudra noticed something peculiar about Zane.

Unlike Kai, who radiated fiery passion, Zane was eerily calm. His movements were precise, his breathing measured. Even as the cold winds lashed against them, he didn't shiver. It was as if the chill didn't affect him at all.

"Zane, have you always been this… composed?" Rudra asked, curiosity piqued.

Zane hesitated before responding. "I do not know," he admitted. "Memories come to me in flashes—fragments of a past I do not fully recall. But this power… it feels natural. Like it was always inside me, waiting to be used."

Rudra considered this, but there was no time to delve deeper. As they climbed higher, they spotted movement ahead. A group of bandits had set up camp at the base of a frozen waterfall, standing guard with torches in hand. At the centre of the camp, bound and unconscious, was Nya.

Kai and Cinder were nowhere in sight.

"We have to act now," Rudra said, gripping the Zephyr Fans. "Stealth or full force?"

Zane exhaled, his breath forming a mist in the cold air. "Stealth first. But I am prepared for battle if it comes to that."

Rudra smirked. "I like your style."

They moved swiftly, using the darkness to their advantage. Zane's ice abilities allowed him to mute his steps, freezing the ground beneath his feet to prevent noise. Rudra followed his lead, using controlled bursts of wind to glide over unstable terrain.

They reached the camp's edge. Two guards stood near Nya, their attention on the fire before them. Rudra raised a hand, signalling Zane to handle them. With a flick of his wrist, Zane conjured small, razor-sharp icicles and sent them flying. The ice struck true, knocking the guards unconscious without a sound.

Rudra was impressed. "Efficient."

Zane simply nodded. "Let's move."

They reached Nya and quickly undid her bindings. She groaned as she stirred, her eyes fluttering open. "W-what…?"

"No time to explain," Rudra whispered. "Can you move?"

Nya nodded weakly. "I think so."

But before they could escape, an alarm rang out. One of the bandits had spotted them. "Intruders!"

The entire camp roared to life as dozens of bandits rushed towards them.

"So much for stealth," Rudra muttered, spinning the Zephyr Fans into position.

Zane stepped forward, his hands glowing with icy energy. "Then we finish this quickly."

The battle erupted in a storm of wind and ice. Rudra unleashed powerful gusts, sending enemies flying, while Zane formed jagged ice walls to block incoming attacks. As a bandit lunged at him, Zane summoned a frozen spear and struck with precision, knocking his opponent out cold.

Nya, still regaining her strength, picked up a fallen sword and fought alongside them, proving she was no helpless captive.

Just as they gained the upper hand, a deep, guttural laugh echoed through the cliffs. From the shadows emerged a towering Serpentine warrior, scales glistening in the firelight.

"Ah, the little heroes," the Serpentine sneered. "You should not have come here."

Rudra's grip tightened. "We'll see about that."

The next battle was about to begin.
