Because everything in the store was pre-prepared, as soon as Shu Pan ordered, congee was brought to her immediately.

She ate the congee bite by bite and finally felt a bit of warmth in her heart.

After eating, she felt much more comfortable and finally didn’t have that dizzy feeling anymore.

Lu Lei probably didn’t want her to feel awkward, so he waited for her in the car, for which she was truly grateful.

He really was a thoughtful person. If he were sitting across from her, she might actually have been too nervous to eat.

Back in the car, “Director Lu, thank you. If you have an emergency, I can take a taxi back to the company by myself. I feel much better now after eating.”

Because he had been on silent mode since the flight yesterday.

So he hadn’t heard the ringing of his phone. He quickly called her back, his heart already in his throat.

The call was picked up quickly.

“Honey, I’m sorry, work held me up, and I’ve only just finished,” Gu Shaoting apologized, though he spoke with a sense of guilt.

“It’s okay, work is important,” Shu Pan replied. Her tone was even, but he couldn’t tell whether she was angry or not.

“Dear, have you eaten yet? Should I buy something and bring it over to you?” Gu Shaoting offered, aiming to please.

“No need, I’ve already eaten. You probably haven’t had lunch yet, right? Go find something to eat; don’t starve yourself, it’s bad for your stomach.” Hearing Shu Pan still so concerned about him, Gu Shaoting couldn’t help feeling a little elated.

It seemed like Shu Pan wasn’t angry.

But Shu Pan was always generous; she didn’t have those bad habits of being whimsical, throwing tantrums, or being unreasonably troublesome.

“Okay, let’s go out for dinner tonight,” Gu Shaoting said, driven by a mindset to make amends.

“Let’s talk about it later. I don’t know if I’ll have time right now,” Shu Pan declined gently. After what happened today, she was quite put off by the idea of dining out.

“Alright,” Gu Shaoting replied, feeling a touch of disappointment.

After saying goodbye and hanging up, Gu Shaoting’s stomach finally made a “gurgling” noise.

What could he eat at this time?

Just then, Xia Xiaoqiao knocked and came in, holding a paper bag, “Mr. Gu, you must be hungry by now. I’ve ordered congee from Century Family for you, along with some snacks. Come and eat quickly,” Xia Xiaoqiao called out.
