Level Up: Voidwalker

Chapter 289: Is There A Problem

Atlas and Lilith were cuddled up comfortably as the rain lashed against the tent, and the wind howled. Winter was setting in, causing the landscape to turn white and cold, but thanks to the Runes, the couple was warm.

The next morning, Atlas woke up but felt stiff as cold air invaded their safe space. He quickly cast a Void Bullet at the corner, which lit up the fires and warmed them up. Afterward, he climbed out of the sheets and looked out the window.

'Damn, well, I can spend some time with Lilith and kill more Broodmaws in the Void Realm,' he thought with a sigh.

While standing there, a sweet voice echoed from the pile of blankets, ''Master! Come back to bed. It's freezing and I want a cuddle!''

Atlas chuckled before joining the Honey Badger woman as they started fooling around. When he was under it, she straddled him with glowing yellow eyes while questioning with a giggle, ''I got you now, handsome. What if I ravaged you here and now? The bird can't do anything about it.''

When Atlas heard this, a burst of laughter escaped him, bubbling up uncontrollably. Lilith tilted her head, utterly baffled by his reaction, but his laughter was so infectious that she couldn't help it, and started giggling.

''You silly girl,'' he said while poking her said which caused Lilith to yelp but he continued. ''But the time isn't right, my brave Honey Badger. We don't want to rush things. I'm enjoying spending time with you.''

The white-haired beauty nodded in understanding before suggesting something he never expected, ''Why don't I trade places with one of the girls in a few hours? It lets them spend some time with you.''

Atlas nodded, ''Sounds good Lili, do you want to fight more monsters with me in the meantime? I love it when you're there,'' he asked.

The white-haired beauty nodded with a big smile, ''Let's go! We will destroy those insects!'' she said with excitement.

Following that, Atlas activated Void Realm, and the two appeared in the jungle swamp. Lilith transformed into her Honey Badger form just as the chittering echoed out from all around them.

'Here they come, looks like a swarm,' he thought as his excitement surged.

He quickly took out his swords before casting Void Infusion on the blades, causing a blue glow to light up everything around him. Seconds later, the Broodmaws appeared and started attacking.

Lilith vanished thanks to being so fast, but Atlas deflected a dozen attacks just as he cast Void Wave that sent them flying. The monsters crashed down just as a dozen Void Bullets peppered their torsos.

Explosions ripped through the jungle just as he spotted Lilith fighting with a group. She was on the creature's back while tearing apart the exoskeleton. Atlas chuckled when seeing this before checking the monster total.

Following that, the couple continued fighting with the Broodmaws. Explosions erupted all over the jungle as he hit the monsters with Void Bombs and Lances that killed dozens, but that's when a newcomer appeared.

His eyes widened in shock as large black ants the size of lions rushed at him while their mandibles snapped in his direction. As Atlas stood there, Lilith barreled into the monster, causing him to scan it using Void Sight.

Lilith was fighting with the Kraxari, but more moved it causing Atlas to use Void Step to cut them down as they got close. Once the Honey Badger beat her opponent, she flew around the battlefield like a rocket.

Her claws carved through the exoskeletons with ease. When Atlas saw this, his excitement soared. The two of them continued killing the monsters with ease as they started to grow tired thanks to the overwhelming numbers.

The Honey Badger returned to the real world first as a swarm of Broodmaws jumped her from the underbrush. Shortly after that, Atlas got bit by the Kraxari, which sent pain shooting through his body.

He woke up under the sheets, with Lilith cuddled up to him. When Atlas saw this, he smiled before kissing the white-haired beauty on the forehead while checking the monster total to see how many they killed.

'That's a lot of ants to kill,' he mused while getting comfortable. 'Well, I'll get the girls to help me.'

Following that, the couple fell asleep as thunder boomed overhead. By the time Atlas woke up, the tent was dark as the mana lamps ran out of fuel. With a tired yawn, he stood up and approached.

Atlas quickly filled them up, causing the things to come to life, and lit up the tent. Following that, he sat down and pulled out some food as his stomach rumbled. While eating, Estelle's voice sounded in his mind, 'Are we taking a break in Moonlit City, my love?'

'Yes, is there a problem?' he replied.

Seconds later, a portal opened, and the blonde knight stepped out with a warn snake as she explained. ''No, it will be a good place to hide out, but we will need to be careful while there. The gangs are notorious for robbing tourists.''

Atlas raised his eyebrow before answering, ''We can just kill them and throw the bodies into the Otherworld.''

When Estelle heard this, her blue eyes widened but nodded in agreement, ''That's a good plan, we should be fine there. The nobles don't care for the empire too much, as their navy is powerful and able to hold them off.''

Following that, the two of them continued talking until the blonde yawned and crawled under the blankets before motioning for him to join her, which he happily did. Once the couple was comfortable, Lilith put her head on the other side.

He smiled as the exhaustion overwhelmed him and he fell asleep as the howl of a Titan rang out across the landscape. The tent was hidden on a ledge that was covered by darkness, which stopped the monsters from bothering them.

The next morning, Atlas woke up with a yawn as the storm had calmed down, which would allow them to travel. He got out of bed before sending Estelle and Lilith back to Otherworld, where they could sleep in a comfortable bed.

Once the ladies departed, he stepped outside and sent the tent into his storage. With a thought, he summoned Theo, the Blood Bat King, who appeared with an impressive stretch of its massive wings.

Atlas climbed onto the creature's back, settling in as he gave Theo the directions. Their destination, Moonlit City, lay on a sprawling island to the west. With a powerful beat of its wings, the Blood Bat King launched into the air, carrying him toward their holiday destination.

Theo's wings sliced through the crisp ocean air, each powerful beat propelling them forward over the vast, moonlit waters below. The gentle sound of waves crashing against the distant shore mixed with the low whistle of the wind rushing past.

As they soared higher, the horizon shifted, and a shimmering glow appeared in the distance. Slowly, the outline of a sprawling city came into view, its towering spires and glittering lights reflecting off the dark surface of the ocean.

Atlas ordered the monster to fly low while approaching the city as ships appeared everywhere. Ten minutes later, Theo let out a chirp before landing with a thud when reaching a secluded beach.

He sent the Blood Bat King back to the Otherworld as Grishna and Amethyst joined him. The two women smiled at him as the Orc Woman commented, ''Well, looks like our holiday is about to begin. We don't have to worry about gold. Between us, we can hire a mansion during our stay.''

When the phoenix woman heard this, she spoke with a big smile, ''Let's go rent one out so we can relax. A few weeks of this sounds like heaven.''

Atlas chuckled before walking toward a road in the distance. While traveling, Grishna grabbed his arm and commented in an excited tone, ''I heard the food in Moonlit City is the best in Astoria. We should buy as much as we can.''

He agreed with a nod as the trio reached the road and started following it until a beautiful city appeared in the distance. Atlas could see the massive metal gate and towers that guarded the wall.

'Looks like it came out of a fantasy movie,' he thought with a smile. Stay updated through My Virtual Library Empire

The trio trudged along the winding path, the distant hum of activity growing louder with every step. As they crested a small hill, the sight before them came into full view. Dozens of merchant caravans lined the road leading to the city.

Exotic monsters pulled heavily laden carts, their scales and fur glinting in the sunlight, while the scent of spices and roasted food wafted through the air.
