Chapter 13: 13:The White Tiger Job Center [I]

Chapter: "The White Tiger Job Center (I)"

---

White Tiger Job Center, Seoul – 3:47 PM

Yuujin stepped into the tall glass doors of the White Tiger Job Center.

Cold air conditioning hit his skin. The reception area gleamed — polished floors, white lights, spotless walls, expensive furniture… but he wasn't fooled.

This wasn't an office.

This was a fortress.

And he was walking straight into the lion's den.

Before he could take five steps inside, a deep voice barked at him.

"Stop right there. What's your business?"

A broad-shouldered man in a dark security uniform stood near the entrance — the watchman. Eyes sharp. Muscle beneath the uniform.

Yuujin answered plainly, "I'm here… by recommendation of James Lee."

The moment the name left his mouth, the guard's posture shifted.

He froze for half a second — then instinctively stepped back.

He quickly nodded and said, "Understood. Please wait here," before pulling out his phone.

A short call later, the doors slid open.

Out stepped a man — neat haircut, clear skin, average in height but precise in his movements.

He wore a clean grey suit and an expression that didn't reveal much.

He walked up to Yuujin, bowed slightly, and asked,

"Mr. Yuujin Jin?"

Yuujin nodded. "That's right."

The man gave a subtle nod, eyes scanning Yuujin from top to bottom — not in judgment, but in evaluation. Like a hunter inspecting a new type of prey.

"I'm Taehyong Kim. Please call me Manager Kim," he said politely.

Then gestured toward the elevator. "Let's head to the 5th floor."

As the doors closed behind them and the elevator began to rise, silence settled.

Manager Kim glanced sideways.

"You seem calm."

Yuujin didn't respond at first, then muttered,

"I guess. It's my first time applying for a job."

Manager Kim smirked slightly.

"White Tiger Job Center isn't exactly a part-time gig, Mr. Yuujin."

Yuujin added, "If possible… can you tell me what kind of questions I should expect?"

Manager Kim turned to face him.

"We're only on the second floor. Still time."

He looked Yuujin in the eyes. "Are you sure you want to know?"

Yuujin gave the faintest nod. "I'd prefer being ready."

"…Alright then."

Manager Kim's hand suddenly moved — so fast it was almost invisible.

WHAM.

A palm slammed into Yuujin's stomach.

Yuujin staggered, crashing into the elevator wall. His ribs screamed.

Before he could recover, a kick launched toward his midsection. He blocked it with his arm just in time — but the force pushed him off balance.

Manager Kim didn't hesitate. He unleashed a flurry of punches.

One to the temple.

One to the collarbone.

Two to the ribs.

A shot to the liver.

Another aimed straight for the throat.

Yuujin was cornered, absorbing the hits as best as he could in the cramped space. His arms blocked some. Others slipped through. His reflexes were fast — but the ambush was faster.

Then—

Ding.

5th floor.

Yuujin dove out of the elevator, panting lightly. His stance instinctively dropped low. Right foot back, hands raised.

"What the hell was that?" he snapped, finally speaking with sharpness.

Manager Kim stepped out of the elevator like nothing happened. Hands behind his back, suit unwrinkled.

He looked back at Yuujin and smirked coldly.

"You wanted hints, right?"

Yuujin didn't reply. His glare was enough.

Then he felt it — a presence.

He turned.

And there he stood.

In the middle of the long hallway, lights shining on him like a stage.

Wearing a black tuxedo, bow tie, crisp white shirt. Polished black shoes.

Tom Lee.

Rumors said he was one of the most dangerous figures in Korea. The man who once controlled madmen like Jinyoung Park. The strategist behind White Tiger. The man with scars you couldn't see — but feel.

His expression was calm. Too calm.

He laughed softly as he looked at Yuujin, voice echoing down the corridor.

"So… you're the boy James Lee sent, huh?"

He stepped forward slowly.

"Yuujin Jin."

Yuujin said nothing. His breathing leveled. His stance relaxed. But his mind didn't stop spinning.

"So this is him. Tom Lee… The ghost in a suit."

Tom smiled wider.

"You came here for an interview… but this isn't a job."

He narrowed his eyes.

"This is an evaluation."
