Lord of the Rings: Warriors

Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Ambush and Slaughter

"I come from the North!" A voice, laden with age and authority, echoed from behind the group.

"Your end is nigh, sinner!" Thranduil stepped onto the battlefield, his face pale but resolute.

"Thranduil?" Rynar looked behind him in surprise as the elf emerged from the barrier.

"Are you sure you're up for this, Thranduil?" Rynar glanced at the elf's pale complexion, easily imagining the price he must have paid to gain entry to Singrey.

"The wounds no longer matter. What I need now is vengeance!" Thranduil's eyes burned with unrelenting fury.

"It's time they paid the price!" Elandor emerged slowly, astride the Star Dragon, his immense draconic presence spreading like a tidal wave. Countless orcs recoiled in terror.

"Heh, four sixth-tier fighters and a Dragon Rider. The tide of this battle is about to turn!" Rynar licked his lips excitedly.

While he wasn't qualified to participate in such an epic confrontation, observing and learning from a distance was well within his reach.

"King Rynar, keep yourself safe!" Thranduil nodded at Rynar, his toes barely grazing the ground before wind surged beneath him. In a flash, he was airborne, propelled by the wind elements.

"Thank you for coming to our aid!" Elandor bowed deeply before mounting his dragon and soaring upward.

"Stay cautious!" Khamûl's eyes flickered with unease. Were it not for the Black Rider's tenacious vitality, he might have already turned tail and fled.

"Damn it! Why do they just keep coming?" Lydilias muttered in frustration.

"Do not underestimate them—this is life or death!" Sennar's voice was grave as the Star Dragon's shadow loomed ominously over the ground.

"Roar!" Elandor struck first. His Star Dragon opened its massive maw, unleashing an icy blue breath of starlight.

"Move!" The Nazgûl quickly spurred their nightmare steeds to evade. The Star Dragon's breath swept across the ground, carving deep fissures and leaving annihilation in its wake.

"Welcome back!" Thranduil said, his gaze resting on Elenthor.

"My king!" Elandor choked back emotion.

"Yes, I'm back—to kill them. How could I possibly die before slaying this filth?" Elenthor exuded unparalleled dominance, the pride of the Star Elves written plainly across his face.

"Heh! Five against three. If we don't take down a few Nazgûl today, it would be an embarrassment!"

Vanervi jumped in with a jest, his casual demeanor showing no regard for the wary trio of Nazgûl in the distance.

"Angmar isn't here; dealing with these underlings will suffice!" Thranduil said calmly. Proud as he was, he only feared Angmar. Against the others, he harbored no hesitation in a one-on-one fight.

"Stellar Cross Slash!"

"Light and Shadow Judgment!"

"Blazing Gale of the World!"

"Wrath of the Forest Sea!"

"Dragon's Prayer Meteor Swarm!"

With a glance exchanged, the group unleashed their ranged abilities, raining destruction upon the three Nazgûl.

Their targets looked alarmed; while most attacks were manageable, the Dragon's Prayer Meteor Swarm was something else entirely. Were those dazzling meteors in the sky for real?

A fourth-tier ranger in this sixth-tier battle group? What? A Dragon Ranger? Oh, that explains it…

"Defend!" Khamûl roared. Most of the attacks were manageable, but the Star Dragon Ranger's technique was terrifying. Who starts a battle with a finisher? Shield raised, Khamûl braced against the meteor shower's shockwaves, his soul's fire trembling within.

"Bang!" Lydilias, caught off guard, was struck by a meteor. Though the meteor seemed small, it was infused with the Star Dragon's concentrated power and exploded upon impact.

A blue shockwave rippled outward, sending Lydilias flying. The force was no less destructive than a direct dragon breath.

Mid-air, Lydilias twisted his body, kicking off the air to forcefully stabilize himself. He landed hard, his boots carving two deep trenches into the ground.

His protective battle aura flickered weakly, like a candle in the wind. Yet in the blink of an eye, his aura stabilized, and energy surged to quickly restore his strength.

"Damn it! They've forced me to waste the soul power I've been saving!" Lydilias roared in frustration, his eyes bloodshot.

These carefully hoarded souls could rapidly replenish his energy and heal his wounds, but collecting them had been no easy task.

Only the souls of the strong were worthy of his collection.

"Death's Domain! Cycle of Life and Death!" Sennar, seemingly the most composed, dove into Thranduil's Forest Sea Wrath.

He activated Death's Domain, drawing on the abundant life energy and transforming it into a protective shield under the Cycle of Life and Death.

"Focus our attack! Kill Thranduil and retreat!" Khamûl's soul voice echoed to his comrades.

"Soul Amplification!" Lydilias raised his hand, casting a gray halo over the trio.

This amplified their spiritual and soul resistance, reducing incoming damage from such attacks and shielding them against catastrophic blows.

"Spectral Dance!" Evil light shimmered on the weapons of the three Nazgûl.

"Undying Rebirth!" Sennar unleashed a vivid green aura, a pinnacle skill that transformed the nature of undead beings.

Under its effect, they were no longer vulnerable to light or holy attributes, effectively reversing the alliance's advantage. Now the undead held the upper hand.

"Undying Rebirth?" Thranduil's pupils contracted. That skill should have perished with Sauron! How could a Death Knight still wield it? Unless… Thranduil abruptly looked toward Mordor.

"Impossible!" Elenthor gasped, his voice breaking as he saw the green aura envelop the Nazgûl.

"Goddess above, let this cursed ability vanish from the world…" Vanervi muttered, his earlier exhilaration now replaced by despair.

With this skill in play, they were on even footing—or worse. The undead aura posed a grave threat to any living being.

"Soul Rend!"

"Hell's Great Rift Slash!"

"Devour of the Undead!"

The three Nazgûl attacked simultaneously, their weapons glowing with ominous power.

"Dodge!" Vanervi was caught off guard, allowing Lydilias to break through the line.

"Damn it!" Omsk's vision blurred as Khamûl appeared above Thranduil, morning star raised high.

"No!" Elandor, astride the Star Dragon, failed to intercept Sennar's charge.

In an instant, the three Nazgûl bypassed their adversaries, their lethal strikes targeting Thranduil.

"Did you think I wasn't here?" Elenthor's gaze turned icy.
