Lost Saint

Chapter 2: Saint

Troubled with his encounter with God, Ajax found closure in the day and fell asleep.

However, when he finally woke, there was a sudden voice that echoed calmly in his mind, [Hi Ajax, I am Lucius.]

Ajax spun around on his bed, trying to find who spoke to him, but there was no one. Suddenly, his baby intuition kicked in, and he started crying.

His cries rang out loudly, prompting his father to rush in, lift him, and console him. His mom soon followed; fear and worry etched her face, concerned something was wrong with Ajax.

"Is he not feeling well ?" Alex asked. They checked his temperature, but everything seemed fine. Nevertheless, Alex used healing stones on him, while Athena prayed to Goddess Tempus to heal her child.

Ajax could see that his parents were worried, "I was calm with God, so what's this sudden change? Was it because I looked mature?" He thought to himself.

After a while, Ajax calmed down and started playing in the living room.

Suddenly the voice echoed calmly again, [Hi Ajax, I am Lucius,] it said.

Ajax turned around, trying to figure out where the voice came from. " Who is that?" he thought to himself. There was a sudden reply.

[ I am Lucius, Ajax, and I live in your head.]

" Huh?" As Ajax touched his head.

[I am your brain. Guess what? You can speak with your brain now, Ajax.] Lucius said.

"Really?"

[Yes, and I'm going to be with you forever,] Lucius said.

Ajax started to chuckle as he stood up and walked to his mom in the kitchen. "Mom… Mom, my brain just spoke to me."

Athena lifted him up " Really? That's nice!" While she tickled Ajax for him to burst into laughter.

For Ajax's enthusiastic nature, this laughter wouldn't have been enough to overwhelm him. But yet, he fell asleep in Athena's arms.

Calmly, Athena went and laid him down.

Immediately Athena left, Ajax woke up again. He sat on the bed as he analyzed his body,

"Something feels different," he thought

[Yes, that's happening because of me. Your awareness and consciousness are growing. It's safe to say at the moment, your brain is over ten years old.] Lucius said.

"Who are you? And why are you making my brain evolve? " Ajax asked

[I guess you are looking for a detailed answer.] Lucius said, [I am Lucius—God of light, and enlightenment, and a second you.] He continued, [Your senses had to evolve to fully comprehend my existence; the more your brain evolves, the closer you get to using me at my full potential.]

"A God? Did God ask you to take care of me?" Ajax asked

[Yes, but not entirely,] Lucius said, [I would appreciate it if we could save this conversation for the future for better understanding.]

"Sure. Will my senses be strengthened whenever I sleep?"

[No, this only happened because I needed you to understand me.] Lucius said, [To quench your thirst for understanding, I am you, an advanced version of yourself.]

He continued, [I am here to guide and advise you.]

Ajax decided to get off his bed and witness the world with his new advanced senses. But something didn't feel right; his body was too small and fragile for him.

[Don't worry,] Lucius said, [this is a primary consequence, but with time, you will get used to it.]

With baby steps, Ajax got outside. As he gazed upon the sky with sparkling eyes. Everything seemed new and fresh.

"I feel like I've been reborn," he opened his arms, "this is a completely different world." He smiled.

He headed to the training ground, hoping to get the sparring seasons. When he neared, his sister, Arrow, spotted him from a distance and hurried to hold his hand.

There, his parents were sparring. Arrow placed him on her lap as they both observed. For the first time, he got a good look at how magic worked.

After a careful observation, Ajax got down from Arrow's lap and headed to his room.

[Sit down calmly, and close your eyes,] Lucius said, [remain calm.]

"Okay"

[You can't reveal all your affinities today,] Lucius said, [but perhaps one will be enough for now.

[Open your palm, and think of making a small circle of water,] He said,[once you attain your inner peace, it will be conjured in your palm.]

Ajax did as Lucius told him, and concentrated.

[Ajax!… Ajax!!,] Lucius screamed in his mind.

Ajax then suddenly opened his eyes. His entire room was filled with water. Ajax had slept off while concentrating.

Out of panic, he started crying. His parents and Arrow rushed in.

Alex's eyes sparked with profound joy, as he saw what had happened. Ajax had awakened. Not only did he take his stunning features, he had the same affinity as him.

He entered the room and lifted Ajax. "Was this why you were acting strangely, huh?" He said and gave him a big hug.

Alex didn't want his family to overwhelm Ajax with their hopes and desires—not something he could ignore forever, but now, he could hold them off.

Alex began playfully training Ajax. Despite Ajax's fragile body, he sure seemed promising.

Their playful training went on for a while, but not long after, it was Ajax's second birthday.

Alex and Athena, along with the Romanov family and a few trusted companions, celebrated Ajax's anniversary causally.

They received the good news on Ajax's awakening, which strengthened the Romanov family's belief that one day Ajax would be the strongest.
