Chapter 186: Debt
'White BMW!' Aldric was a little surprised that Anna was using a different car.
Since she had arrived, he stood up immediately.
"Aldric, where are you going?" Nolan asked right after he stood up, looking curious.
"I have business with someone, don't follow me," Aldric replied bluntly before taking a step away.
With his serious expression, Nolan really didn't dare to follow him.
When he arrived at the university grounds, he did see a white BMW across the street.
It was a semi sports car with only two doors but with a simpler design that didn't look like a sports car.
Aldric wondered if Anna had come alone, not with her bodyguard as there would not be enough room for three people in that car.
He then stepped into the White BMW whose glass was so dark that there was no opening to see inside.
Before he arrived, he received another message from Anna.
(Just get into the car!)
Right after he received the message, the car's engine started, making a moderate roar, quite loud but not as loud as the roar of a sports car.
It seemed that Anna wanted to leave right away.
Aldric then circled around the car, headed for the passenger door, and opened it before getting into it without even stopping.
He was worried that someone might see, so he moved quickly.
Anna's fragrant scent was the first thing he felt when he got into the car.
He looked to the side, finding the woman had already started driving.
She was wearing sizable sunglasses with her hair resting on her left shoulder.
Instead of wearing a dress like usual, today she was wearing a white shirt layered over a bright gray coat and trousers. Only, they weren't jeans. They were formal cloth pants used for work.
Overall, she looked formal, like an office lady.
Perhaps she had just returned from her office so she looked like that.
For Aldric who saw her look like this for the first time was naturally rather impressed, making him unconsciously observe her for a longer time until she came to look at him.
Taking off her sunglasses, she smiled faintly at him.
"What are you looking at, Aldric?" She asked him a question, instantly embarrassing him.
He quickly turned his gaze forward, realizing that he had made a big mistake.
"So, where are we headed, Lady Anna?" Aldric asked as he stared ahead, feigning curiosity and just wanting to know about it.
"Just wait," Anna replied. Find exclusive stories on My Virtual Library Empire
"Why aren't your bodyguard coming?" He asked again.
"I brought a bodyguard for security. It's not necessary if I'm being guarded by you who is obviously much stronger. Besides, you knocked out Allen's bodyguard with one kick. I've seen that guy and he's so big that I'm kind of scared just by looking at him." Anna gently explained why she didn't need a bodyguard.
Aldric rolled his eyes and said, "Even if I am skilled in fighting, it would be better if you brought your bodyguard. Unlike professional bodyguards, I lack the ability to detect danger. My advantage is only when hitting the enemy. I will be confused when the enemy starts using sneaky tricks."
He could not help but remind her of this because e felt she just wanted to play around.
Unfortunately, she was playing with her own safety.
"Don't worry," Anna replied casually.
"The place we're going to is not a deserted place. There are many other people and it's a place guaranteed to be free of firearms, so by relying on your physical strength, I'm one hundred percent sure of my safety."
"But why do you want to teach that person?" asked Aldric.
Since the woman was insistent, he could only change the subject.
"Because he didn't pay a debt to me while he had the money. It's a debt without an agreement, so I can't collect it through the court. Therefore, I will only rely on violence," Anna replied.
Aldric became surprised to hear that so he stared at her with his mouth open.
It's actually because of the debt problem.
Who owes her so much that they dare not pay?
If it was a group that might be accustomed to committing crimes, this would be a little difficult.
After all, the other party would likely take revenge on him.
Anna realized his concern, she raised one hand to him.
"This person is just an ordinary person, but London is full of cunning people. Even ordinary people dare not pay a debt when they believe it is not bound by an agreement under the law," Anna said.
"After you beat him up, I can guarantee he won't dare try to take revenge," she added.
"Then I can rest easy," Aldric said, breathing a sigh of relief.
They traveled south of London, passing area after area until the sky darkened.
Night fell early as it was approaching winter.
When they reached an area with many casinos, Anna slowed down the car.
Aldric immediately wondered if their destination was a casino.
Right after he wondered, Anna stopped the car in front of one of those casinos which was the biggest casino in the area.
It even had its own courtyard so visitors easily parked their cars.
The building had five floors with the walls lined by large screens displaying various gambling games.
Compared to other casinos, Aldric found that the minimum bet at this casino was much higher.
The clientele consists of Europeans or Asian and Middle Eastern travelers.
They all looked very rich with flashy fancy clothes and accessories.
Aldric also saw many servants, most of whom were beautiful women with tall bodies and bright blonde hair.
They wore white shirts with ties and skirts that did not reach their knees but their legs wore long stockings that darkened their skin slightly but added to their allure.
Their professional style but very friendly demeanor made the guests look happy just looking at them.
Perhaps they are all models who work part-time at this casino.
Before moving to London, Aldric had been warned by his parents many times not to visit places like this.
Of course, he knew that it was a very bad place.
Even just by looking at it, he could feel the vibrations in his heart that begged him to have fun in this casino.
However, as a man with limited finances, the end result of having fun in a casino was practically madness.
It's just a place for rich people to waste their money that they deem unneeded.
Poor people trying to seek their fortune would only get endless bad luck.
Actually he became a bit hesitant to enter, but he had already promised Anna so he had no other choice.
He was also confident enough in her not to make him fall into this vicious circle by asking him to play.
Her nature might have become a bit strange lately, but that was the business of adults, something that could happen unavoidably.
He still believed enough that she was an educated woman who would not make gambling a part of her life.
"This guy won big yesterday, but tonight, he will definitely come to this casino again to try again. If he loses, even if you beat him up, he won't be able to repay the debt to me. Therefore, we must catch him before he plays," Anna said, pulling the handbrake of her car.
She was wearing her sunglasses again but she put them on top of her head instead of in front of her eyes.
Maybe she wanted to show a little style since she came to a casino only in formal wear while most women came in fancy dresses.
"Let's go down, he's not here yet but we'll wait for him at the cashier's desk," she added, opening the door beside her before taking a step down.
Aldric nodded and got out of the car to follow her.
The night air was cold even for his large frame, but it was not uncomfortable.
With the dark glass of the car out of the way, he finally saw how bright the lights around the casino were.
They made it hard for him not to stare around so it became clear that he was someone who rarely saw the luxuries of the world.
Fortunately, he was backed up by his looks. His hick-looking demeanor didn't make people look down on him, especially the women, they were actually impressed by him.
His curious gaze was something they found sweet.
Some even seemed on the verge of approaching him, but Anna's presence held them back.
Not only was Anna more beautiful than most of the women who came, she also had an aura that overpowered them.
Even in formal attire, one could still tell that she was a very wealthy woman from the accessories on her body.
From the watches to the rings on her fingers, they were more expensive than anyone else. Even her sunglasses had a price that made other rich people afraid to buy them even if they had the money to buy them.
Aldric kept walking behind Anna. When she walked into the casino, he also walked in, immediately mesmerized by the spacious and luxurious halls filled with sophisticated machines of all sizes.
