Mahoraga in Lord of the Mysteries

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Plans in motion

*Creak*

*Thump*

The disembodied voice that carried power beyond comprehension was silent for a few seconds before speaking, "Amon, stop this madness. The creature is one from beyond… and it must be returned!"

*Creak*

*Thump*

Mahoraga stood up and pulled out a crystal monocle from nowhere while smiling gently, "I could get used to this…"

"Amon!"

*Creak*

*Thump*

"Sheesh~ calm down little Yuggs. I will ensure it does not… fall into the wrong hands~" Mahoraga's smile remained the same while he adjusted the monocle out of habit.

*Creak*

*Thump*

"This is not something to be joked about. You already took my Archbishop. Sigh… I will be forced to bring Her into this matter!"

*Creak*

*Thump*

"Aww, little Yuggs is going to mommy to complain that a small bird stole his lunch?" Mahoraga stuck out his tongue while taunting like a spoiled child.

*Creak*

*Thump*

"…"

"What's the matter? Roselle got your tongue?" Mahoraga cackled.

*Creak*

*Thump*

Suddenly, his expression froze before turning angry as all the worms inside were instantly pushed out, falling lifelessly to the ground. Nothing remained of Amon in the catacombs, only Mahoraga and the disembodied voice of a True God.

"You can't defeat me… you're just an ugly, worm-like, mistake!" Mahoraga bellowed as he regained control of his body.

Amon was nowhere to be found, so Mahoraga turned to wait for the voice of the God to speak. And yet, the voice did not speak, causing Mahoraga to huff in frustration at not being able to fight the voice, instead opting to make his way out of the restrictive and complicated cave system in the simplest way possible.

*Bang*

A punch caused the ceiling to collapse, only for the wheel to spin full rotations to allow Mahoraga to survive without being able to breath, and with his body being crushed under hundreds of tonnes of weight.

Moving the rubble to the side, Mahoraga continued the same process of collapsing the ceiling, and climbing through the rubble until he could see the ceiling once more.

*Bang*

*Crack*

*Rumble*

*Crash*

More and more earth was cleared before a white fist finally broke through to the surface.

*Bang*

With all the rubble in a 5 metre distance being exploded upwards, Mahoraga finally gained access to the night sky above him. And there, he caught sight of a large blood-red Moon hanging in the sky, a strange phenomenon as the moon he knew was white.

And then, Mahoraga's skin began rippling as though tentacles were beneath it, his veins bulged, and his body began convulsing unnaturally.

"Hmph, serves you right~" the voice harrumphed before turning his attention away from the creature that died and evolved into an abomination of the Mother Goddess of Depravity, sending a message to Amanises; the Evernight Goddess.

"A creature from beyond, corrupted by the Mother goddess?" her soft and almost non-existent voice came through to him after a while.

"Yes. I have lost my bishop to Amon in the process. Even one of your precious red-gloves was lost there. Come on, do something…" Yuggs sulked while mentally crouching in the corner of his divine kingdom.

"Awe~ did the little worm steal the great God of Steam and Machinery's favourite toy?" Amanises twirled her finger in the air while grabbing a hold of a worm form seemingly nowhere, then letting it go as it rapidly took the form of the monocled man Amon.

"Naughty child… Yuggs here says you took his Archbishop~"

"Yes ma'am!" Amon performed a military solute with a seemingly serious expression, as though he was a soldier who had completed a mission given to him by his superior.

"I remember telling you to stay away from our churches…"

"That was feathered Amon who agreed. I am Backlund Sewer Amon, Ma'am!"

"…I will not repeat myself, Son of chaos…" her black eyes flashed with a darkness than seemed to bring eternal nothingness, "Keep to your own schemes."

"But Amanises, you have put into motion schemes of your own that will greatly affect me! Trust… such a feeble thing…" Amon murmured while his body was obliterated by an irresistible force, stopping him from saying anymore.

"He knows…" the God of Steam and Machinery turned to Amanises through their connection.

"He knows," the Evernight Goddess nodded back, "we need to speed things up."

Meanwhile, the fallen corrupted body of Mahoraga had an incredibly large glowing golden helm appear above it, slowly beginning to spin and pick up speed.

*Creak*

*Thump*
