Chapter 4: chapter-4

Ned slowly turned, only to see a giant shadow looming over him.

Whoosh!

Fleshy tendrils lashed forward.

"HAAA!" Ned screamed as he rushed backward, his heartbeat pounding in his ears.

Bang! Bang!

Heavy metallic footsteps echoed as the shadow followed him relentlessly.

"Help! Administrator! Administrator!" Ned yelled as he ran, his stamina draining fast.

Ned nodded rapidly, still catching his breath.

Michael smirked slightly. "Then you're lucky."

"Lucky?! That thing was about to eat me!" Ned snapped.

Michael shrugged. "Depends on your perspective."

His tone was casual, but something in his eyes told Ned he knew more than he was saying.

"What was it?" Ned demanded.

Michael crossed his arms. "How about this? If you can enhance or repair anything in this facility… or hunt something outside… then I'll tell you."

Ned clenched his fists.

"Um..I'll do it."

Michael gave a knowing smile. "Then let's see if you can keep up."
