MARTIAL UNIVERSE: The strongest

Chapter 59: Discussion about the future

The First Elder offered a far better solution, his words were wise, causing the Elders to heave a sigh of relief. Their belief in the old man was solid, if he claimed something was possible then it truly was.

The Sect Master held a gentle approving smile. "Then it's decided. You will keep an eye on him, while the necessary ingredients for the seal in arranged for. When all is said and done, I'll believe we'll have another talented individual for the sect.." The Sect master concluded and then spun his gaze back to Gojo.

*

"Noe tell me young man, what are your plans, after the chapter of your life in this sect?"

His voice was calm and deep, containing a bit of a whisper. Gojo placed his hand on his chin, thinking for a moment.

"I've thought of becoming a teacher, here in the sect to nurture the next generation of talents, but before that, I want to travel. Travel the entire world, see new things, grow stronger blah blah blah.."

Gojo shrugged. With his knowledge and talent, it was only a matter of time before he stood atop the world. After that, what next? He still had the passion for nurturing, to foster new talents like himself into experts that would defend the world with or without him.

"That sounds incredible. The Sect will be glad to receive you into our ranks of tutors when you're ready. But before that, we can grant you the opportunity you seek.."

The Sect Master spoke, Gojo listened attentively, nodding in agreement. "Oh? I'm actually interested..." He titled his head in thought.

"The Hundred Empire War. The world is divided into continents, regions. The Xuan Region which we currently live on is divided into The North, East, South and West. And in each region, there are powers that stand atop it all. You might think that the Great Yan Empire is huge, but we and every other sect in the Empire are just drops of water in the ocean compared to the true overlord of this Eastern Xuan Region, the Super Sects ...

They are the real powers that stand atop this continent and the world for that matter.

Even a regular Elder from any one of those sects is more than powerful enough to wipe out our Great Yan Empire by himself. That is the gravity of their power .."

He paused, allowing Gojo to digest the information.

"Each year, those massive super sects hold a tournament, a war, to select viable seeds, talented individuals from all over the region to join their sects. Every Empire is gifted quotas, 10 per Empire with an age limit. Every sect, every clan, even the royal Empire and Magistrates produce talented individuals within the age limits to participate in the battle of seeds, from which the top 10 talented are selected to battle in the war, the Hundred Empire War.

Initially, I wanted to give you this information after you entered the core disciple ranks, but there's no time to waste. The next Battle of Seeds is a year away. In the previous one, none of our selected disciples managed to make the quotas for the Hundred Empire War, quite a disappointment, due to the talents we managed to produce..

But the council of Elders and I solemnly believe that given enough time, with your talents, you and other talents will make quotas for the Hundred Empire War and actually gain incredible results for the Sect .."

Gojo digested all the information in a flash. Nodding his head, he stretched his back and cracked his knuckles. "I hope the rewards to winning that Hundred Empire War are generous, aside just joining those Super Sects.."

The Elders couldn't help but nod at his disposition. He was fearless...

"Hold your horses brat. Of course the rewards are generous, and even more generous for the Sect as a whole. If any one of you manage to catch the eyes of the Super Sects, our Great Luo Sect will stand atop the rest, even within the empire...

But." The first Elder paused. "You lot are too weak. You'll need time, time to grow stronger, practice, cultivation resources. You just entered the inner court. We do hope that with your talents, you and your fellows will achieve great results in the upcoming inner court competition and then the core disciple competition eight months later..

From there, we'll decide.."

The First Elder was concise as possible. And then the Third Elder took over. " The Battle of Seeds and Hundred Empire War are far away in the future. No need to put those burdens onto your shoulders. Relax and work hard.." He was rather encouraging compared to the others..

The Punishment Elder then chipped in. "What you and your fellow disciples should be focused on is this.. We received news, the Saint Origin Sect our rivals and enemies have produced a boy whose talents equal or rival yours. Our sources tell us that he was awakened the fabled Yin Yang Eyes, ranked ... on the Divine Bloodlines Ranking.." The Sect Master frowned, the elders revealed discomfort at the name of that abominable sect being mentioned, wanting to stop him from revealing this to Gojo, but he sighed and stopped himself. Gojo needed to know what he was up against.

Gojo frowned. MeiYing gasped. For someone bearing the Six Emotions and Seven Desires Divine bloodline, she knew what the Yin Yang Eyes represented and what it meant for the world. She turned to Gojo, only to see his frown changed into a small smile.

"Yin Yang Eyes eh? Hilarious.. How strong is he now?" Gojo asked. The Punishment Elder frowned at his non committal attitude and continued. "Per our reports, with a cultivation realm at the Yuan Dan Realm, he defeated three Elders at the Form Creation Realm... effortlessly."

"A Yuan Dan Realmer defeating Form Creation weaklings? Meh, not that impressive for me...I was kinda expecting more with all that hype.." Gojo shrugged.

"You little brat! The gap between the Yuan Dan Realm and the Form Creation Realm is like Heaven and Earth. Being able to mitigate that gap and effortlessly take on three of such cultivators is unheard of!" The Punishment Elder raged, but Gojo shrugged again. "Just tell me when and where, I'll kick his ass for ya eh?" Gojo's words caused the First Elder laughed in approval.

"In close to a month from now, inner disciples from that bloody Sect will be coming here for friendly sparring competition. Should he come along, we'll need you in the fray. For this competition, and for the inter sect competition that'll happen after the core disciple competition.."

After all was said. Gojo didn't even bother responding, he only yawned. "Before I forget, I also came here for those sweet rewards, for winning the outer court competition.." He rubbed his palms greedily.

"So impatient.." The Sect Master himself smiled and threw him a Qiankun bag which he caught and placed within his own. "The Yuan Pill River will open less than a week from now for your immersion.." The Sect Master added. " Thanks.. and if that's all, I gladly request my leave.." Gojo waved and then turned around to leave .

But..

"Oi brat I give you the chance to become my disciple, do you accept?" The First Elder's voice rang out which made Gojo turn around. His gaze turned towards MeiYing who was watching him expectantly and then he sighed inwardly.

She was probably behind this.

He thought for a moment, rubbing his chin for a few seconds, weighing his options. He liked being on his own, but the benefits he could gain from the old man's experience was immense. Not to talk of the fact that MeiYing mentioned he was a Diviner and a formation Master. Considering the name of his cultivation technique, the Great Divination Technique, it'd be wise to take this opportunity..

"I don't see why not.. But on one condition. Mr. Old Sword Master over there has to take my brother in as a disciple as well." The Elders were taken aback, including the fourth Elder whom Gojo was pointing to..

"How did you..... Forget it. Why should I accept your proposal?" The fourth Elder squinted his eyes. Gojo smirked. "My brother, Du Yun might be even more talented than I am. He's figured out sword intent by himself, without any guidance.." The old man's jaw dropped.

"That's it then.. Relocate to your new quarters in the inner court. MeiYing will take you through everything else.. You're dismissed.."

The First Elder laughed and then vanished, disappearing from his seat.

Gojo nodded and walked out, hands in pockets, while MeiYing chased after him..

"Do you think they liked me?" He laughed while she rolled her eyes. "The Punishment Elder will have a heart attack one day because of you.." Gojo couldn't help but laugh at her remarks as they walked side by side..

_

Thirty minutes later..

They reached his lodgings and he walked into his room only to see Du Yun sitting cross legged, sword resting on his laps. "Oi, why did you tell me you were coming to visit?" Gojo basically skated into the room and slumped face first into the couch.

"I thought you'd be here at least, resting.." Du Yun watched MeiYing walk in and sit silently, nodding to her as a form.of greeting to which she nodded back. "Yeah well, I got tired of it.." Gojo's voice was muffled, as his face buried in a pillow.

"I went out to meet the council of old fogies. Gosh that was exhausting.." Gojo took off his boots in exhaustion and slumped back into the couch. "I see. You did win the outer court competition in a spectacular fashion.." Du Yun nodded in agreement. Gojo took off his blindfold and rubbed his eyes groggily.

"I've got a gift for you and good news for you.." He yawned and Du Yun's eyes brightened for a moment. Stretching out his hand, Gojo summoned a rather spectacular long silver sword from his Qiankun bag. Even he himself had to inspect the sword a few times. Unlike a regular Chinese sword, this resembled a longer version of an English medieval knight sword with a slim seek body, a straight guard and runic blade, long and elegant.

He handed it over to Du Yun who caught it excitedly, his eyes shinning. "It's a middle tier soul grade weapon. Shattered Dawn.." He examined it carefully and then read the sleek runic writings on the blade. Gojo himself had to examine it for a while. "It looks interesting. It seems to have the ability to absorb Yuan Power from the surroundings.." He thought out loud, but then shrugged and then handed it over to Du Yun.

"It's probably one of those swords that can grow alongside the user. I gained it after completing the three star mission in the Blackwater Region. Keep it well.." He closed his eyes.

Du Yun couldn't let go of the blade. It was probably two thirds of his own height, and it was going to take time getting used to it, but he loved it. "Thank you brother. I love it.." He smiled. A rare sight. Gojo's eyes were closed, but he noticed.

"That wasn't so hard, was it. And that's not even the best part. The fourth Elder has decided to take you in as a disciple.." This time Du Yun's jaw dropped.
