Marvel: Beginning with the Collection of Shinra Tensei

Chapter 161: Chapter 161: The Crisp Sound of Forging

"This phase is yours. Remember, the precision must match what's written on the blueprint. Otherwise, the effect of the final product will be greatly diminished," Eitri reminded.

As a master blacksmith, Eitri's words carried weight. After confirming the critical points with him, Han Yu began forging.

Standing with his legs apart in a half-horse stance, Han Yu exhaled deeply. His gaze sharpened as his right arm, gripping the Haotian Hammer, suddenly tensed and swung downward.

"Haah!"

The hammer struck the metal with a crisp, resonant clang. Using the rebound's momentum, Han Yu seamlessly lifted his arm and struck again with force.

Another clear, ringing sound echoed—proof that the hammer face had made perfect contact with the metal, executing a flawless strike.

Given the nature of these metals, a half-hearted strike wouldn't produce such a sound; it would only result in a dull thud.

This was precisely what Eitri had struggled with. While he possessed the strength, he lacked a hammer durable enough to endure such force. Every time he applied his full strength, his hammers shattered.

"This is a truly remarkable hammer. I absolutely must get one from Han Yu!"

Eitri marveled at the scene. The more he watched the Haotian Hammer in action, the more impressed he became, already calculating what terms might persuade Han Yu to forge one for him.

If pure Uru metal were used, it might be possible to create a hammer as sturdy as the Haotian Hammer. However, Uru was a metal reserved exclusively for Asgard's royal family, making it inappropriate for Eitri to use it for crafting a blacksmith's hammer.

"Han, pay attention. We're approaching the critical stage—seven more strikes!"

Eitri closely observed the changes in the metal, keeping Han Yu constantly informed.

Han Yu's brows furrowed slightly. He could feel the increasing strength required for each strike. Without sufficient force, the sound grew faint. A momentary lapse in power caused even the crisp clangs to lose their clarity.

"Truly a challenging alloy mixed with Uru metal. Relying solely on manual forging is proving quite troublesome," Han Yu thought.

For ordinary weapons, the process could be expedited using a star-core furnace to handle the rough crafting. Manual hammering wasn't necessary.

However, they were forging Godly Battle Armor—composed of numerous plates of varying sizes. Hand-forging allowed for precise control over the thickness of each plate.

"I'll need a different approach to continue this forging," Han Yu decided, communicating with the system in his mind. "Bring up a one-time skill: the Chaotic Gale Hammer Technique!"

In the next moment, a torrent of information flooded Han Yu's mind. Almost immediately, he felt newfound strength in his hands. Each hammer strike became more precise and powerful.

"Impressive! This technique is extraordinary!" Han Yu exclaimed inwardly.

The Chaotic Gale Hammer Technique originated from the Haotian Sect, known for its mastery of forging. It utilized the principle of force redirection, allowing the blacksmith to maximize their strength while efficiently removing impurities from the metal.

Han Yu's hammer strikes grew stronger and more fluid. The intervals between strikes shortened, yet his visible exertion decreased. Each strike produced an even crisper sound, a testament to his increasing control and power.

This unique forging technique set Han Yu apart from modern blacksmiths. Even Eitri, a seasoned master, forged one hammer strike at a time, unable to achieve Han Yu's seamless rhythm of borrowing force with every blow.

The continuous crisp ringing drew the attention of the nearby dwarf craftsmen, who set down their tools to watch Han Yu work.

Everyone was awestruck by his methodical yet swift precision. None had ever witnessed such masterful craftsmanship.

Even Loki and his companions wandered over to observe. While laypeople admired the spectacle, the skilled craftsmen could truly appreciate its brilliance.

Although they couldn't fully grasp the intricacies, the look of astonishment on Eitri and the other dwarves' faces made it clear that Han Yu's forging technique was extraordinary.

"Little brother, your friend is something else—he managed to make Eitri show that kind of expression," Hela remarked.

She had known Eitri for over a thousand years. Even back then, when Eitri was younger, he was already one of the most exceptional craftsmen among the dwarves. At the time, his skills were matched by his pride, and rightfully so—his craftsmanship justified his high standards. His eventual rise to become King of the Dwarves spoke volumes about his abilities.

Hearing Hela's casual tone, Loki said nothing. She was formidable, and if she wanted to call someone a certain way, who was he to argue? Watching Han Yu's precise and masterful strikes, Loki admitted, "I didn't expect him to be this capable either."

Beads of sweat rolled down Han Yu's chiseled face as he worked, his expression intense and focused. This look of dedication made Galacta's eyes sparkle with admiration.

By now, Han Yu's hammering speed had reached an astonishing level—he was striking the metal over ten times per second, his arm moving so fast it was a blur.

"This is interesting," Han Yu murmured to himself. "Even though the metal is getting thinner, the force required hasn't decreased. If anything, I need to use even more strength."

A glimmer of excitement lit up his eyes. Faced with this challenge, a grin spread across his face.

Lose to a piece of metal?

Impossible. Han Yu had aspirations to stand at the pinnacle of the universe. This was just a minor detour in life—nothing that could truly stump him.

"Come on, Haotian Hammer, let's have some fun with this!"

"First soul skill: Lightning Five-Strikes!"

As Han Yu declared his move in his mind, a black circular ring appeared above the hammerhead, floating and pulsing around it.

In the next instant, Han Yu's speed increased dramatically, reaching an entirely new level of rapid strikes.

"Lightning Five-Strikes!"

"Lightning Five-Strikes!"

"Lightning Five-Strikes!"

Han Yu continued to unleash the Haotian Hammer's first soul skill relentlessly. With only one soul ring, he had just one soul skill.

However, the Haotian Hammer's soul power held the essence of a 99th-level peerless Douluo. Using near-maximum energy reserves to unleash a basic skill was akin to scooping water from an ocean—it hardly made a dent.

In the Marvel Universe, there was no such concept as soul skills. To the dwarves, Han Yu's lightning-fast strikes were beyond comprehension.

Even Eitri and his fellow craftsmen were dumbfounded. The strikes merged into a continuous sound, with no discernible pauses between them.

The metal block, originally as wide as a forearm and as tall as the span from a palm's middle finger to the base of the thumb, gradually thinned and expanded under Han Yu's blurring strikes.

In less than ten minutes, a sheet of metal as thin as cicada wings appeared before the crowd.

Wiping the sweat from his brow, Han Yu compared his work to the blueprint and then turned to Eitri. "How does this look?"

"Incredible. Absolutely incredible!" Eitri exclaimed, giving a thumbs-up. "This piece is a masterpiece. If it were me, it'd probably end up thicker than this. Where did you learn such a technique? It's brilliant!"
