Chapter 169: Chapter 169: The Ferocious Siblings

If one were observant, they would notice a faint blue energy lingering on the surface of the Sea God's body, slowly dissipating. This energy was not his divine power.

"I actually liked this outfit, and you went and ruined it," the Sea God muttered, walking toward Thor, who was struggling to get up. With a swift kick to his chin, the Sea God sneered, "Take that!"

The kick sent Thor flying over ten meters, leaving a long trench in the ground. His already displaced internal organs were further jarred, causing him to cough up a large mouthful of blood.

His eyes grew even more unfocused, and his mind swirled in dizziness. He was at his limit, barely clinging to consciousness.

The Sea God's once elegant long hair had turned disheveled. He thought to himself, This guy is tougher than I expected. Thanos's energy shield really came in handy. Without it, I might have actually gotten hurt from that last attack.

The faint blue energy that had briefly covered his body a few seconds ago came from Thanos, a fragment of energy derived from the Heart of the Universe.

Even a fragment of the Heart of the Universe's energy was enough to withstand Thor's desperate, all-out strike. The sheer power of the complete Heart of the Universe was unimaginable.

"Is that all you've got? I can still fight. I could go all day," Thor muttered as he staggered to his feet. Suddenly, recalling something a friend had once said, he repeated it aloud, laughing at his own words.

But his laughter tugged at his injuries, causing him to cough up more blood.

"Still want to fight? I'll show you!"

The Sea God advanced swiftly, raising his trident and striking Thor's abdomen with its shaft, sending him spinning through the air before crashing into the ground in a heap.

"I'm done wasting words on you. Once you're dead, Asgard will fall, and I will become its new king. Too bad you won't be alive to witness it!"

A trace of viciousness flashed through the Sea God's eyes as he raised his trident high, its gleaming tips ready to sever Thor's head.

"Die!"

The trident plunged downward. Just before it could strike Thor, a beam of rainbow-colored light shot across the battlefield, colliding with the Sea God and hurling him dozens of meters away.

The multicolored radiance was unmistakable to Heimdall, whose eyes widened in recognition. It was the light of the Bifrost!

As the light faded, four figures emerged—two men and two women. One of the men, holding a battle axe, lowered his weapon and grinned at the Sea God, who looked utterly stunned.

"Thor!"

Loki's eyes widened as he hurried to help Thor up. Seeing his brother's battered state, Loki clenched his teeth so tightly they nearly cracked. He had never seen Thor so gravely injured.

This was a first.

"Ah… Loki, it's you. You're back. Looks like you brought reinforcements," Thor said, his swollen eyes barely able to open as he squinted at Loki. A weak, pained smile appeared on his face, one that looked more like a grimace. Speaking caused him to cough up more blood.

Rage consumed Loki. His eyes burned with a singular desire as he glared at the Sea God—he wanted him dead.

"Sister, I'll take care of Thor. As for him... can I leave it to you?" Loki didn't lift his head, but Han Yu and the others knew exactly who he was addressing.

Hela glanced down at the gravely injured Thor and then at the Sea God in the distance, who was clutching his trident. A satisfied smirk crossed her face. Not bad. Forcing this old fool to use the Sea God's Trident... My little brother has quite the fighting strength.

"Since you're calling me 'sister,' I suppose I can help you out. Take good care of that 'little brother' of mine," Hela replied with a faint smile, her tone laced with menace.

Hela's face lit up with a look of satisfaction. The moment she returned to Asgard, she could feel divine power continuously surging within her. Running her hands through her hair, which had once flowed loosely over her shoulders, it transformed into upward-curving spikes resembling a crown.

Coupled with the celestial star-forged battle armor she wore, she appeared more majestic and awe-inspiring than ever.

"This armor is truly incredible. It can even help me absorb energy!" Hela marveled to herself. What usually took her a full minute to absorb now only took ten seconds, significantly enhancing her endurance and combat sustainability.

Turning her gaze toward the Sea God in the distance, Hela said coldly, "Njord, I didn't expect to see you again under such circumstances—invading Asgard. Seems like I didn't teach you a good enough lesson last time."

The Sea God's expression darkened as he thought, Why is this woman here? Isn't she supposed to be imprisoned in Hel?

The two of them had a long history. Thousands of years ago, they had crossed paths in battle. Even then, Hela was already an unrivaled goddess of war, having slaughtered countless warriors of the Vanir and even clashing directly with the Sea God.

At that time, although Hela hadn't defeated him, she had only been slightly outmatched—it wasn't a complete loss. The Sea God had found her ferocious combat style exasperating.

Most people, when at a disadvantage, would lose morale. But Hela? The moment she sensed she might lose, she only fought harder and more viciously.

Back then, the Sea God believed he could kill her, but it would likely cost him an arm or a leg in the process. Her brutal, relentless fighting style was simply too overwhelming.

Among those astonished by Hela's presence was Heimdall. As someone from Hela's era, he had witnessed firsthand both Odin leading Hela in conquering the Nine Realms and later Odin dispatching the Valkyries to suppress her.

Heimdall was one of the few present who truly understood the extent of Hela's power.

"She even brought her back. Asgard might actually have a chance now!"

A flicker of joy crossed Heimdall's face. Hela's return wasn't entirely good news, but one thing was certain—she would never hand Asgard over to anyone else.

Once the most formidable enemy, Hela was now their most reliable ally.

Hela strode toward the Sea God with a predatory grace, each step radiating immense pressure. With a twist of her wrists, two long swords materialized in her hands, their sharp edges glinting with menace.

Every step she took carried an imposing, suffocating force.

Faced with the oncoming Hela, the Sea God's expression soured further. He had thought that with Odin's power gone, Asgard had no one left to fear. But after Thor came Hela.

The combat power of these siblings was terrifying, bordering on monstrous—especially Hela. After centuries of battle, her combat experience was unparalleled, surpassing even his own.

Moreover, the unique trait of Asgardians was that their strength only grew with age. Unless they died of natural causes, elder Asgardians could easily achieve a level of power capable of dominating an entire planet, rendering them nearly unbeatable.
