Chapter 419: 419 Kagura Tech: Number One in the Universe!

— Deep Space Between Earth and Moon, Lagrange Point L2 —

The three interstellar battleships built by Rhodes Island Industries cruised at a maximum speed of 10% the speed of light, powered by their massive state-of-the-art Arc Reactor propulsion engines.

Now, they had arrived at the far side of the moon.

Here, at this point in space, the fleet would undergo final adjustments and a full-system diagnostic before officially leaving Earth behind.

It was time to settle Earth's affairs and prepare for the journey into the endless depths of space.

In the Hyperion's command bridge, Kagura was conducting a detailed handover of control rights with Cortana, who would remain on Earth to continue overseeing Rhodes Island Industries.

Since Kagura was already taking the powerful quantum supercomputer VEDA with her to space, bringing Cortana along as well would risk leaving Earth's operations leaderless—something that could throw Rhodes Island Industries into total chaos.

So, the decision was made: Cortana would remain on Earth, while VEDA accompanied Kagura into the cosmos.

The L2 Lagrange Point was one of the four gravitational balance points between Earth and the Sun.

Not too far from Earth, this location provided ample space to avoid interference from the fleet's hyperspace jump engines.

It was the perfect staging and jump-off point.

Incidentally, this was also the farthest range Cortana's real-time communication system could reliably reach.

"Master, you can leave everything on Earth to me. I promise you won't be disappointed," Cortana said gently through the communication channel.

"But please… you must be careful out there. Take good care of yourself in my absence. And… remember, resources aboard the ship are limited—please, don't overeat."

"Mmm, don't worry. I'll be careful," Kagura replied, scratching her head awkwardly.

"B-but... five hamburgers in one meal isn't too much, right?"

"Please limit it to three at most. Any more could strain the fleet's logistics,"

Cortana warned seriously.

"Ugh… Cortana, you're as strict as ever!" Kagura puffed out her cheeks in protest. "Well then… the rest of the crew has finished their farewells to their families. It's time for departure."

"Understood." Cortana's voice was soft and serene, like the gentle trickling of a spring, warm and comforting. "Wishing you a safe journey, master."

Aboard the three Macross-Class Interstellar Warships, the majority of the crew were YoRHa androids.

Each android's model and role varied according to their specific assignment.

The most numerous were the 9S-series lite-type androids—tasked with managing the bridge, communications, ship operations, and other roles requiring exceptional data processing abilities.

Other YoRHa models filled critical positions as well—handling weapons systems, engine operations, engineering, cargo logistics, and heavy machinery maintenance.

These androids were designed to be flawlessly loyal, incapable of betrayal or error, fully adaptable to their duties, and able to instantly switch into combat mode to fight as a YoRHa military unit in times of crisis.

Of course, not all crew members were artificial.

There was also a significant number of human personnel aboard—some former S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives (thoroughly vetted to prevent any Hydra infiltration), others recruited from Rhodes Island's various departments as elite specialists.

After all, no matter how advanced AI became, in the complex, closed environment of a spaceship, humans were still essential—for now, at least.

And so, it was only natural for Kagura to allow these human crew members time to say their (classified) farewells to family back on Earth.

She generously permitted the fleet to pause at the L2 point for a few hours.

"Captain—Ships Two and Three have formed up. Dark Matter Hyperdrive re-check complete. Star map navigation verified. Fleet ready for hyperspace jump."

The 9S-series YoRHa communications officer reported crisply from the bridge.

"Very well. Understood."

Kagura sat confidently in the captain's chair at the center of the bridge, with Thor standing on one side and Loki on the other.

"So, Loki… what do you think? Not bad for an Earth-made starship, right?"

"Hmph… I'll admit it looks impressive," Loki muttered, gazing at the sleek holographic bridge and the 360-degree panoramic display of the stars outside.

"By Asgardian standards… I suppose this would barely count as an acceptable product."

"Seriously? Just acceptable? You've got some high standards, old man." Kagura rolled her eyes. "Don't you guys fly around in anti-gravity longships anyway?"

"Kagura, ignore him—this is amazing!"

Compared to Loki's stubborn pride, Thor's reaction was far more honest and excited.

"A fully holographic command system… a panoramic bridge… AI crew management… automated navigation… and a quantum data core!

By Odin's beard—I've never seen such an advanced starship bridge! How did you build something this incredible? This is awesome!"

"Tsk..."

Loki gave Thor a pitiful glance, as if to say: "Could you embarrass Asgard any more? Honestly... you sound like you've never left home before."

"Heh… heh… heh…"

A smug grin curled on Kagura's lips.

"This, gentlemen, is the pinnacle of human technology. Compared to those flying aircraft carriers S.H.I.E.L.D. used to toy with, this beauty is on an entirely different level!"

Hearing Thor's genuine praise of her "masterpiece," Kagura couldn't help but feel overjoyed.

"Leaving aside life-support systems and the like, I must've designed the weapons and defense systems dozens of times over!" she said proudly.

"I made sure that the battleships built by Rhodes Island Industries would be no weaker than those of the Chitauri, no weaker than Asgard's, no weaker than Thanos' fleet, and certainly not inferior to the ones S.W.O.R.D. is currently flying out there somewhere in space!"

And she wasn't just boasting—every decision, every refinement of the Macross-Class warships had been made with that exact standard in mind.

These ships took years to design and build, undergoing countless upgrades and improvements—especially after the incident where Hydra tried to take over S.H.I.E.L.D., which led to the fleet's main cannon being forcibly fired, requiring the ships to be rebuilt from scratch.

Now, the Macross-Class Interstellar Battleships could stand proudly among the finest vessels in the galaxy, equipped with top-tier offensive and defensive systems.

Take the Hyperion, for example.

The ship's outer layer was shielded by an upgraded City-Class Celestial Barrier, forming the first protective layer.

Beneath that, an active defense shield array constructed through artificial dimensional sorcery provided another safeguard.

Thousands of short-range rapid-fire missile systems and kinetic point-defense turrets completed the layered defensive network, ensuring no breach went unchecked.

But even if some enemy fire miraculously pierced through all these barriers, the hull armor, composed of material approaching the strength of "construct-level" alloys, would serve as the final safety wall—capable of withstanding nearly every known form of firepower Kagura had ever encountered.

As for weapons—

Three triple-mounted dark matter main batteries were installed: one on the forward deck, one aft, and one on the ventral deck.

At any given angle, at least two turrets could deliver devastating firepower.

These dark matter cannons, adapted from Dark Elf technology, packed an extraordinary punch.

Enhanced and stabilized with dimensional sorcery, they were theoretically capable of piercing even the energy shields protecting Asgard's royal palace.

Beyond the main guns, ten dual-mounted high-energy particle cannon turrets and eight dual-mounted 460mm rapid-fire kinetic cannons provided supporting and long-range firepower options.

And scattered across the decks were countless vertical missile launch systems.

Each warship carried the "FD-17 high-precision cruise nuclear missiles," designed for overwhelming firepower in critical moments.

Of course, given the self-contained nature of a spacecraft, missiles were a limited luxury—once expended, they could not be easily replaced.

Thus, under normal conditions, energy weapons powered directly by the main engines remained the primary tools of offense and defense.

In addition to these extensive onboard weapon systems, each of the three Macross-Class warships also carried two squadrons of carrier-based craft—one squadron of 24 VF multirole fighters, and another squadron of 16 "Halo" strike bombers.

The VF fighters also doubled as reconnaissance units, capable of versatile operations.

To put it bluntly—fueled by the wild ideas from countless sci-fi works in her memories—Kagura had created three warships that could only be described as extravagantly armed.

They were built to handle any threat the universe might throw their way.

"Well then… it's about time."

Kagura pulled herself from her thoughts and lifted her gaze toward the endless sea of stars.

"All ships—attention! Synchronize countdown: ten seconds. Prepare to activate the hyperspace jump engines.

Destination: the Dwarven Realm—Nidavellir!"
