"Anti-Hell Lord Armor?!" Pietro couldn't help but exclaim. He never imagined that someone like Tony Stark—a flamboyant, seemingly carefree playboy—would be hiding such a powerful trump card.
So I'm the only one slacking while the playboy's secretly grinding behind the scenes.
Deadpool scowled, his tone dripping with indignation. "Hey, Mr. Playboy, did you happen to cook up an anti-Deadpool armor too?"
He shot a disgruntled look at Tony. Why was Tony only focused on building an armor to counter Alex Ray? What—did he think Uncle Deadpool wasn't a big enough threat? Rude. Uncle Deadpool is insanely strong, thank you very much!
Wanda glanced at Alex Ray with visible concern, a dangerous glint flickering in her eyes. "So Tony actually developed a mech just to take you down? Want me to kill him?"
To her, Alex's safety trumped everything else. Anyone posing a threat to him—no matter who they were—deserved to be eliminated.
One word from Alex, and Wanda would take him out without a moment's hesitation.
But Alex just waved her off with a relaxed smile. "It's fine. That's just Tony. He's not targeting anyone specific. Stuff like this just helps him sleep better at night."
He genuinely didn't think Tony's so-called Anti-Hell Lord mech could threaten him. After all, his arsenal of powers was vast.
On the contrary, he was intrigued. Just how powerful was Tony's latest creation?
Even without probing it too deeply, Alex could see with his own eyes that this mech was leagues beyond anything Tony had built before.
At the same time, Tony Stark himself was stewing in frustration.
Ever since he committed to developing the Anti-Alex Ray armor, he had thrown himself into the project with obsessive dedication. Countless sleepless nights, endless simulations, and a mountain of resources later, the first-generation Anti-Hell Lord armor was finally complete.
But in a twist of cruel irony, his first test subject wasn't Alex Ray.
It was Alex's apprentice—Spider-Man.
Tony addressed Peter with confident bravado. "Sorry about the wait. I just needed to switch into something more... stylish. As an apology, I'll stand still and let you get a few hits in."
Peter stared at Tony, stunned. He hadn't expected this level of cockiness, not even from Stark.
He hesitated for a moment, instinctively looking to the sidelines—toward his mentor.
Alex Ray gave him a faint nod, clearly interested in seeing what the Anti-Hell Lord armor could do.
Taking the cue, Peter stopped hesitating. He focused and prepared to go all out.
He knew this was a rare opportunity—and he had to make the most of it.
But what he didn't expect... was that no matter how hard he hit, Tony didn't budge. Not even a little.
Peter's fist slammed into the armor with a dull thud. Stark didn't flinch. Didn't move. Nothing.
"Is that all you've got, Spider-Man?" Tony said coolly, an edge of mockery in his voice.
That pissed Peter off. He threw another punch, harder this time. And another. Still nothing.
Tony stood like a monolith, utterly unshaken.
Peter's confidence began to waver. Then, he noticed something—the armor was radiating heat. Intense, burning heat.
He instinctively pulled his fist back before it scorched his gloves.
Tony smirked. "My suit can generate extreme heat automatically. Helps discourage melee types like you."
Then he added with a smug glint in his eye, "Oh, and that's not all. This armor's not just bulked up—it's reinforced, heat-adaptive, and fine-tuned to counter Alex's high-speed abilities. It's equipped with tracking sensors that slow down high-velocity movement by hundreds of times. Try to get close, and it auto-counters."
Peter's stomach dropped.
This wasn't just an upgrade. This was a purpose-built executioner.
But he didn't back down.
He took a deep breath, clenched his fists, and prepared for the counterattack.
Tony didn't hold back. The Anti-Hell Lord mech came to life like a mechanical beast, its movements calculated and lethal. Each blow struck Peter with unerring precision.
Peter tried to resist, to fight back, but every counterattack was nullified with ease—as if his efforts were nothing but mild annoyances to Tony.
Eventually, Peter was knocked to the ground, groaning and gasping for air.
He lay there, winded, his fists clenched with frustration.
He thought he was ready. He thought he could hold his own.
Reality made a mockery of those thoughts.
Jessica Jones, acting as referee, finally stepped forward and announced, "Winner: Tony Stark."
But Tony didn't look pleased. If anything, he seemed annoyed.
The trump card he painstakingly built to challenge Alex Ray had been exposed—and wasted—on a test run.
Now he'd have to start from scratch.
Back to the drawing board for Anti-Hell Lord 2.0.
Peter slowly got to his feet and dragged himself toward his master, shame clouding his face. He was convinced he could win. Instead, he got steamrolled by a suit not even meant for him.
Alex Ray walked over, smiling gently. "It's alright. You did great. Way better than last time. And honestly, losing to Tony's trump card isn't shameful. Even for me, that mech would take time to dismantle."
Peter's eyes widened.
If even Alex would need time to deal with the armor, what chance did he have?
Alex's calm tone comforted him, but it also reminded him of the massive gulf between them.
To Alex, overcoming Tony's mech was a minor inconvenience.
Unfathomable strength, Peter thought.
After soothing Peter's wounded pride, Alex strolled over to Tony, who was now surrounded by a small crowd examining the new armor with awe.
They marveled at its design, its sleek edges, the hum of hidden power within.
Tony didn't share their excitement. All he felt was bitterness.
His ace had been shown. And now it was useless.
"Well," Alex said casually, "so much for that surprise."
Tony shot him a withering glare. "I was saving it for you. But thanks to this little stunt, it's blown. So—hand over the Space Stone."
Tony wasn't leaving empty-handed. If his secret weapon had to be rebuilt, then he needed resources—now.
Alex chuckled at Tony's serious expression and handed over the glowing Space Stone.
Without another word, Tony activated the gem and vanished from sight.
Alex stared at the empty air where Tony had just stood and shook his head.
"He really couldn't wait to tinker with it again."
He sighed. "So the trump card's been played... but then again, who doesn't have one?"
