Chapter 28: The Seductive Trap for Ron

Konoha.

All the clan leaders of the village had gathered.

Wood Release had resurfaced.

And the one using it was an enemy of Konoha.

They needed answers.

Hiruzen Sarutobi's emotions were a mess.

The experiments using Hashirama Senju's body…

He had allowed them.

Even though the experiments had been officially shut down, Danzo had continued them in secret.

And Hiruzen had known.

But he never expected this—

A descendant of the Senju Clan with such pure bloodline still existed.

An armored warrior had already crushed Konoha under his heel.

And now, a Wood Release user was eyeing them like a predator.

Their power was beyond imagination.

They had even taken back the bodies of Hashirama and Tobirama.

Was this a warning?

A retaliation against Konoha's treatment of the Senju Clan?

"Lord Hokage, why would a Wood Release user attack Konoha?"

Hiashi Hyuga glanced at the three men missing their arms, voicing the question on

everyone's mind.

Hiruzen took a deep drag from his pipe, allowing the smoke to obscure his expression

before answering slowly.

"It's due to a misunderstanding."

"What kind of misunder—"

"Lord Hokage, how did our shinobi react when they first encountered him?"

Chōza Akimichi spoke instinctively but was interrupted by Shikaku Nara, who shook his head at him.

The implications of Wood Release were too great.

Even Konoha's name came from it.

Some things should not be asked.

Besides, he had checked the memorial site.

The graves of the First and Second Hokage were empty.

Their enemy's goal was clear.

And those involved? The Third Hokage was almost certainly one of them.

Otherwise, why were only those three men left armless?

So this couldn't be pursued further.

But they still needed to clarify how the village should treat this person—

Was he an enemy or an ally?

At the very least, everyone needed to be on the same page.

Shikaku wasn't the only one who caught on.

The others turned to Hiruzen, waiting for his decision.

He took another deep drag of his pipe.

"It was just a misunderstanding."

"I've sent Tsunade to try and bring him back."

"As for our shinobi, if they encounter him on missions, they are to ignore him."

"If he needs anything, they should provide assistance."

Sending Tsunade?

Was he hoping she would form a bond with him?

And Shizune had gone with her as well.

One fiery and passionate, the other pure and gentle.

Those two types of women covered the preferences of 99% of men.

Classic Third Hokage.

Even after suffering such a loss, he could still keep a straight face while sending the Senju Princess to him.

Everyone present nodded, pretending to be deep in thought.

"Understood, Lord Hokage."

On the Battlefield Between Iwagakure and Kumogakure

The Third Raikage stood alone against an army of thousands from Iwagakure.

He was buying time for his men to retreat.

Above the battlefield, Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage, hovered in the air, ready to unleash his Dust

Release at any moment.

"Onoki!"

"If you've got guts, come down here and fight me one-on-one!"

"Hiding behind your men and sending them to their deaths—you don't deserve to be Tsuchikage!"

The Third Raikage crushed an Iwa shinobi underfoot as he roared to the sky.

Onoki ignored his taunts, keeping his hands locked in the Dust Release seal while commanding his forces to surround the Raikage.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Raikage had chosen to sacrifice himself like Tobirama Senju had done.

Did he really think he was invincible?

Even the God of Shinobi's brother, Tobirama, had died.

What made Raikage think he could escape?

As long as the Iwa shinobi could hold him down for just a moment—

One well-placed Dust Release would wipe him out completely.

The Third Raikage saw through his plan.

He never stayed in one place for more than a second, always moving at high speed.

His monstrous physique turned the battlefield into a bloodbath wherever he passed.

It was as if a dragon had stormed through the ranks of Iwagakure's forces, carving a path of destruction.

"Onoki! You're a coward!"

"Come down and fight me one-on-one!"

"I'll even fight you with one hand!"

"You hide behind your men like they're disposable—what a disgrace to Iwagakure!"

"Is this your way of reducing Iwa's population problem? Killing off your own shinobi?"

"Your own Kage doesn't care about you, yet you're still willing to die for him?"

As he mocked them, he continued to tear through the battlefield, taking down Iwa shinobi one

after another.

His stamina was monstrous.

Even after fighting for an entire day, he showed no signs of slowing down.

It still took countless shinobi to try and hold him back.

Meanwhile, Onoki was already exhausted just from flying.

He had to take breaks to catch his breath, but every time he did, the Raikage would push forward,

forcing him to return and reorganize his men.

And so the battle raged on for two more days and nights.

On the third day, the Third Raikage's movements finally began to slow.
