Chapter 223: MD-Chapter 222 Chrysanthemums and Sea Shrimps

"Nephew, hold on!" Arthur spoke as he lifted Tony by the armpits.

Tony, stunned, looked at Arthur with a dazed expression before speaking: "Are you sure this isn't a joke?"

Just then, the metal object falling from above transformed into a suit of armor that enveloped Tony from behind.

Tony's hands were lowered, and the palm-mounted thrusters caused him to float in front of Arthur. He looked up and said, "The rumored army is about to arrive. The device on the roof is a pure energy structure and cannot be breached."

Arthur's look was calm as he spoke, "Then let's begin the battle!"

"That's exactly what I want!"

Tony's words were barely finished when he suddenly accelerated, reached the roof of the building in no time, and immediately shot into the sky.

In the sky, a blue energy beam had opened a portal, and a large number of Chitauri soldiers were beginning to pour out.

They had special flying devices, two per unit, and as soon as they emerged from the portal, they began to spread out over New York.

"The damned numbers…"

Arthur looked at the void above him, thought for a moment, and then soared up into the clouds.

There was nothing more to say - just fight!

Kill everything that needs to be killed and the matter will be settled.

Tony was already wreaking havoc in the air, as small tracking missiles from his shoulders were shooting wildly through the void.

Explosions were frequent.

Arthur arrived on the scene with guns in each hand, and each of his shots were deadly.

The energy projectiles, encased in colorless energy, were incredibly ruthless!

The Chitauri's defenses were limited, and under such attacks they could offer no effective defense, shattering into pieces almost instantly.

"What kind of weapons are those?"

Tony, busy as he was, couldn't help but ask out of curiosity when he saw the ferocity of Arthur's weapons.

"I'll give you some after this battle is over."

"Deal!"

Tony said, "We can't let them wreak havoc in New York."

"You go provide support. I'll try to hold them off here as much as possible," Arthur immediately replied.

"Be careful, old man. I don't want to have to bury anyone else!"

With that, Tony wasted no time as flames shot out from the thrusters under his legs, and he turned to chase after the Chitauri forces.

Arthur raised an eyebrow and tilted his head, only to be hit directly by an enemy.

Under his Steel Body effect, he had no visible injuries, but he was still displeased. Looking up, he saw that at least a dozen Chitauri had surrounded him.

These guys seemed to have been inspired by something as they were frantically waving their arms and opening fire their weapons at him.

With a thought, Arthur released a psychic shield and drew The Eye of Horus. The Eye of Horus glowed with golden light, floating in mid-air, and combined with the shield's illumination, Arthur was soon submerged in blue gunfire.

Smoke filled the void, and Tony, who had just moved away, turned back to see the scene and was furious: "Arthur!"

"Don't shout like that; you're getting on in years," Arthur's voice appeared in his ear. Tony was stunned: "You're okay?"

"What could possibly happen to me?"

As the smoke cleared, Arthur stood in mid-air, his guns having transformed into an Asgardian two-handed sword.

The sword Arthur wielded was the one he had acquired on the trading planet. All the weapons Thor had found for him had been disassembled, but this one, which he had used for a while, he didn't want to disassemble.

At this moment, with a whirl of his arms, he shouted, "Spatial Slash!!!!"

The space was instantaneously split in two by Arthur, and the surrounding Chitauri were also abruptly divided into two parts.

However, they didn't die immediately. The next moment, Arthur reached out and grasped the air, causing a rupture in space. In an instant, the Chitauri, seemingly losing all support, plummeted straight down from the sky.

Arthur's figure flashed and disappeared. When he reappeared, he was already on a Chitauri spacecraft. With a flash of his sword, the colorless energy buff turned it from merely a frightening weapon into a deadly one.

One slash and two Chitauri were severed at the waist.

Another slash and the spacecraft was split in two.

Arthur's Raven Wings flared as he dashed toward another spacecraft.

With each swing of his sword, bodies and debris fell to the ground.

As for the enemies who were at some distance from him, he just shot at them.

The battlefield was chaotic, but Arthur moved with practiced ease.

Just then, a massive creature emerged from the portal in mid-air.

With a ferocious and hideous head, covered in jet-black metal armor, it slithered out in an unpleasant manner.

"Damn it."

Arthur looked at the creature, feeling speechless for the first time on this battlefield: "Hanging a big chrysanthemum in the sky was bad enough, but now a giant mantis shrimp has come out of it!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the mantis shrimp came barreling toward him.

Arthur's sword flashed and blocked the attack. In the clash, the creature's enormous size and strength clearly gave it an overwhelming advantage.

In contrast, Arthur seemed tiny in its eyes.

The massive force and size of the creature pressed Arthur back through the air.

Realizing that continuing to struggle in this manner was pointless, Arthur flipped around, wielded his large sword, and brought it down directly onto the creature's head.

"Go down!!!!!!!!"

He roared, and the blade's light flashed. The tremendous force forced the giant mantis shrimp toward the ground.

Boom!

With a muffled sound, the mantis shrimp's chin hit the ground first, shattering it into pieces.

"Aaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!"

As the colorless energy surged, Arthur drove the sword into the beast's head.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Three successive explosions resonated as the enormous force compressed the ground, causing it to collapse repeatedly.

Under the immense power, the creature's head was slowly cleaved into two halves by Arthur's sword.

Though its body continued to writhe on the ground, it was now of little consequence.

"Is this thing a lifeform or a machine?" Arthur muttered to himself as he saw another one of the creatures swimming through the air.

"Instructor!"

A voice came from behind him. Arthur turned around to see Natasha, Steve, and Hawkeye standing not far away from him.

At that moment, Thor descended from the sky with a flash of lightning behind him, turning several Chitauri soldiers into ashes in a blink of an eye.
