Chapter 36: CH 36: Getting Kidnapped?
"Ta Lo lies just beyond this waterfall," Jiayi, the Guardian, announced to Ragnar, then nodded towards the others. For her, inviting Ragnar to Ta Lo was a top priority.
"I'll go first," Jiayi declared, stepping into the waterfall without a second thought until she disappeared completely.
"Let's go," Ragnar said, carrying his father on his shoulder. He walked beside Ororo and his mother, and as they entered the waterfall, the first thing they noticed was the, water.
It was swirling around them, seemingly floating in the air as they moved through it.
"This is amazing," Ororo whispered, touching the water with her hand. They continued walking until they were suddenly sucked into a brilliant light.
When they emerged, they found themselves in a luminous crystal cave. Looking back, they saw the portal, a vast expanse of water that was now cascading down onto the ground.
"It's beautiful," Ororo said looking at the different colors of crystal in the cave gleaming in the darkness Making Sicilia nod in agreement.
"We're here," Ragnar said towards them as he shook his head pointing towards the entrance of the cave where Jiayi was waiting for them.
"Welcome to Ta Lo," Jiayi greeted as they approached. Her hand remained behind her back, but her eyes were fixed on the sky, as if awaiting something or someone.
"Oh my god, look at that!" Ororo exclaimed, pointing towards a beautiful white fox with nine tails. "It's really real!" She'd been skeptical when Ragnar told the story before they left, but now her eyes widened in disbelief.
"I told you so," Ragnar just shrugged as he looked around and saw some Qilin focusing on them.
"What is that?" Sicilia asked with confusion and amusement in her voice pointing towards the mythical creatures without any face.
"Dijiang, a great pet if you want one," Jiayi introduced calmly, not taking her gaze away from the sky.
"And that?" Ragnar asked looking at the bird with flames on its wings, 'Now I can see it clearly that ain't no phoenix,' he thought seeing it's huge difference in appearance.
"Feng Huang," Jiayi whispered as her eyes contracted as she felt the wind had changed.
As Ororo, Sicilia and Ragnar continued to look around, observing every creature with amazement.
What they didn't realize was that their arrival had awakened a slumbering being in the lake, a creature who sensed its own kind.
The Great Protector opened her eyes in surprise. She swam swiftly out of the lake, startling the residents nearby. With a powerful surge, she launched herself into the sky, flying towards the entrance of the cave, seeking her own kin.
The Great Protector saw nothing resembling herself. Looking down, she saw the human she had approved of, surrounded by other humans from outside of Ta Lo. She focused on the boy carrying another human on his shoulders.
The Great Protector's eyes widened in realization. She knew it was him, the one she had sensed. He may still be a baby, but he was her kind. She dove down, using her power to make Ragnar float, and then whisked him away in a flash, flying back towards the lake.
"Wait! What's happening!" Ragnar exclaimed, surprised despite his amazement at the dragon that had suddenly appeared before him. He hadn't expected to be kidnapped by a freaking dragon just after entering Ta Lo.
"My Son!" Sicilia cried out, her eyes widening as the dragon carrying her son vanished. "No!" she yelled, her voice filled with panic. She even forgot about Elliot, who fell to the ground when Ragnar was snatched away.
Ororo's eyes turned white, ready to unleash her powers to fly after Ragnar.
"Calm down," Jiayi said, placing a hand on Ororo's shoulder, stopping her from flying. "It's the Great Protector of Ta Lo. She won't hurt him. She's probably curious about the same kind as her."
"You!" Sicilia pointed at Jiayi, her eyes widening with understanding. "You knew this would happen, that's why you wanted him to come here!" She was furious, her psionic energy surging out of control, scaring the mythical creatures around them.
"And he's not a fucking dragon! He's my son!" Sicilia roared, ready to fight Jiayi, even if she would lose.
Jiayi sighed, knowing it must be hard for Sicilia to accept the truth. "I need you to calm down, but it's the truth," she said soothingly.
"Using my chi, I could feel Ragnar's life force is different from any human or mutant I have seen," Jiayi explained slowly, as Sicilia's eyes widened. "So it's impossible for him to be your son," she added softly.
"You!" Sicilia said, speechless, pointing at Jiayi. Of course, she knew why Ragnar was a dragon and different from them, but she couldn't utter the real reason, leaving her helpless.
Sicilia who couldn't deny Jiayi's words stayed silent as she looked down glaring at her sleeping husband, as she began to blame him in her mind. 'Damn Elliot,'
Elliot, knocked unconscious, woke up startled. He looked around, sensing he was being targeted by a beast. "Where are we?"
"I think you better sleep again," Sicilia muttered coldly, her gaze fixed on him. She constructed a golden energy hammer, lifting it high above her head.
"What? Wait, what are you doing?! Put that down, let's talk about this," Elliot stammered, backing away as he saw the colossal hammer, larger than his head
Sicilia's eyes flash with a fierce glint as she smashes down the hammer.
"AHHHHH!"
Ororo, on the other hand, was quite surprised by the news. Although Ragnar had always told her he was a dragon, she'd simply assumed it was because of his mutant abilities, not because he was literally a dragon.
"Should we stop them?" Ororo whispered to Jiayi, unable to help but feel sorry for Elliot.
"It's a family matter. Let them vent," Jiayi said, closing her eyes and ignoring the domestic violence unfolding before her.

"Is that a person?" Ying Li asked her sister, pausing her training and pointing towards the Great Protector, who had just flown back and was diving into the lake.
Ying Nan also stopped her training, staring curiously at the lake as someone approached them from behind.
"It seems to be a foreigner," Guang Bo said frowning as he saw the appearance of the young before he disappeared into the water with the Great Protector.
"But foreigners aren't allowed to come here right," Ying Li asked in confusion as she turned around facing Guang Bo looking for answers because now Ying Li and Ying Nan were still kids the same old as Ragnar.
"Your Master, should be back as the Guardian she should not have let someone pass the entrance of Ta Lo," Guang Bo said look towards the Direction of the entrance.
"Master!" Ying Li exclaimed excitedly, exchanging a look with her sister before dashing towards the direction of the entrance.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Ying Nan called out as she raced after her sister.
"Even you are affected by what happened. Seeing you not scolding the children," a middle-aged woman remarked, walking beside Guang Bo.
Guang Bo didn't reply, simply frowning and clenching his staff tightly. "Since you're here, have the other elders called for a meeting?"
"Yes. After all, you're not the only one who noticed the Great Protector taking a foreign young man back," she said, shaking her head and sighing. "We'll be waiting for Jiayi to arrive as well. We all need to know where this young man came from, why he's here, and then we can make a decision."
"A change is coming," Guang Bo said shaking his head walking towards the main hall, "We can't decide anything until we figure out what the Great Protector wants from the young man,"
Guang Bo wasn't optimistic of what the results of the meeting were going to be, after all they were living from the Great Protector blessing even their best warrior strength was connected from the Great Protector.

Ragnar, his cheeks puffed out in a desperate attempt to hold his breath as he swam along the bottom of the lake.
Ragnar's eyes, now transformed into a dragon's, pierced the darkness, revealing a magnificent white dragon staring back at him with wide, curious eyes.
Suddenly, Ragnar's eyes widened in shock. He felt a presence reaching into his mind, attempting to connect with him. But thanks to the items he had received from Sona, the connection was blocked.
Ragnar looked up at the Great Protector, sensing she was the one trying to connect with him. He decided to allow it.
Ragnar didn't believe the Great Protector would harm him, especially considering she could have already done so, and he could always cancel the connection if he wished.
As Ragnar allowed the connection, a female voice echoed in his mind.
'Child, why are you here?' the Great Protector inquired, her interest in Ragnar evident. 'Why are you with humans?' she questioned, a hint of doubt in her voice.
Ragnar wanted to answer, but he opened his mouth only to release a stream of bubbles. He hurriedly closed his mouth.
'Child, transform back into your true form. You don't need to pretend as a human anymore,' the Great Protector said softly. In her eyes, Ragnar was a dragon struggling to survive in the human world, even going so far as to pretend to be one of them.
Ragnar looked at the Great Protector for a moment, understanding that the dragon before her saw them as the same kind. He used his shapeshifting abilities, transforming back into his true form.
Golden scales covered his skin, his body began to expand, and golden horns sprouted from his head. Wings bursting out from his back destroying his clothes, revealing a magnificent golden dragon.
The Golden Dragon roared, sending shock waves and ripples through the lake.
The Great Protector shook her head in slight approval although Ragnar looked huge to humans in front of the Great Protector, Ragnar was still a hatchling. But then her eyes froze as she saw the Golden Dragon before her choking on water.
