Chapter 51: Ch. 51 - Roaming the Human world!
As I only have mostly a month before the Satans would try to end the war, I need to make the most of this time to recruit students to further empower my Mystic Society.
This'll be the first time I'm actually going to go around the world as I the only places I visited since arriving in this world aside from the village is Jerusalem, the place where I appeared first as I cross to this universe.
'14th century. Are there any notable person out there during this time?' I muttered to myself, scouring through my mind to see if I can recall anyone from the history books I used to read.
Is Merlin already born during this era? Not to mention, is he even real?
'Only one way to find out.'
I guess the great Britain will be my first destination.
With nothing to pack for the long journey, I went outside to inform my two students and old man Rad.
***
"Can I join?!" As soon as I told them about my plan, Tam wasted no time asking me.
"M-Me too." Not wanting to be left behind, Belle stepped forward and raised her hand.
"I refuse." I cut in with a sharp tone before continuing.
"You two need to focus on your studies and by the time I'm finished, I want to see the Whip, Tao Mandalas and Portal already mastered by the two of you, understood?" I crossed my arms and said, not taking a 'No' as an answer.
"Yes, Master." Both of them nodded their heads in disappointment.
Watching this, I couldn't help but sigh and finally said.
"…Okay, how about this. If those three I mentioned are mastered, I'll take you two along with grandpa Rad out of this village." Then I smiled after seeing them perk up at my words.
"Pinky promise!" Sometimes, I forget that Tam is just a little child.
I chuckled and crossed his pinky with mine, officially sealing the deal.
Softly ruffling their heads, then I spread my senses throughout the entire village, locating old man Rad, once again wasting himself in the tavern.
'Did he already finish with his business?' From what I remember, Rad went out of the village to go and sell one of his horses to a neighboring village.
'Don't tell me he used those money he got to get himself drunk.' Shaking my head, I sauntered towards the tavern.
On my way there, I received a bunch of respectful looks and polite greetings which I responded in kind.
It is almost official that I am this village's guardian, everyone already knows that I'm a sorcerer and I protect them from the outside world.
'Hopefully, by the time the Great War is finished, they'd forget about me and think of me as a mere legend in the village.'
Why, you might ask?
Sorcerers are supposed to live in secrecy, silently protecting the human world without exposing themselves, not even to the government themselves.
One of the best reasons behind this is about the Witch Hunt that happened in the early 15th century.
Back in the Marvel Universe, I read the history of Kamar-Taj and discovered the revelation that sorcerers were actually the center of the infamous Witch Hunt that happened across the entire Europe.
Humans hates the unknown and if they don't fear it, they try to control it and if they can't control it, they butcher it.
That is the reason why Masters of the Mystic Arts live in secrecy and can only be discovered through mouth-to-mouth from the sorcerer themselves.
Of course, Kamar-Taj have strict rules about this as sorcerers aren't actually supposed to spread a word about their existence.
Doing so would meet a severe punishment.
The only way can sorcerers tell someone is if they're taking them as their student such as my case with Kaecilius.
Instead of me finding Kamar-Taj, it was Kaecilius who found me instead.
Shaking my head from these thoughts, I finally arrived at the tavern and as soon as I went in, everyone inside turned silent.
"As you were." I said and the chatters resumed, all while I marched towards old man Rad's table full of empty beer mugs.
The old man himself was head butting against the table while murmuring unintelligible words.
"Come on, old man. Let's get you home." Patting his shoulders, I hoisted him on my shoulders and walked out of the tavern.
On my way back, my ears were finally able to understand what he's saying.
"Oh, Danny…hick!…when did you come back?…hick!…Your mom and I were so worried about you…hick!…Where were you?"
Well that's new. He never mentioned this Danny to me. Is that his son?
"I missed you Danny, are you finally going to stay now?" At this point, I can sense old man Rad choking in his tears as my back felt wet from it.
I didn't mind.
Because I know that this old man, who has always put a tough front to me turns out to be hiding a painful past.
As I got back to the farm house, it was already night time, and the two siblings cast a worried glance towards old man Rad.
"What happened to him? Did someone in the tavern mess with him?" Tam flared up asked with anger in his tone, he looks like he's ready to smash inside the tavern to find the perpetrator.
Bonk!
Karate chopping his head in which he painfully massaged the top of his head, I replied.
"No, you idiot. He's just drunk." Then I went inside.
After taking him to his bed, I went out and saw the siblings cooking in the kitchen.
Thankfully, Belle knows how to cook and I didn't have to resort to plain food as I'm just mediocre when it comes to the kitchen.
"This looks delicious." I praised as I sat on the table while Belle brought the bowl of soup on the table.
"It's our mom's special dish, she used to teach me how to cook it back then." Belle replied with a soft smile, with a hint of sadness in her tone, the same goes to her brother who nodded his head solemnly
"She must've been a good mom if she managed to raise someone like you both." Comforting them, I patted their heads and continued.
"Alright, let's eat! But first, you two know the drill." Sending a gesture towards Tam, he nodded his head and started praying.
"Our Father who art in heaven, hallow be thy name…."
What can I say, with God being confirmed to be existing, I started to send my prayers to him.
Thankfully, praying doesn't give me any pain, even Tam said he doesn't feel one, which I assumed that God must've given him the same exclusive G-pass as me.
***
Once outside, I gave bid them farewell again and unfurled my wings before taking into the sky.
Casting an illusion on myself so no normal human would be able to see me, I took out my map from my storage spell and marked my destination.
'Let's see. I guess I'll be flying to the north.' I muttered while scanning the map on my hand.
Closing the map, I unleashed my full speed and burst out in the sky, leaving the flying birds flabbergasted when I flew past them.
All while humming to myself.
"If there's a place you got to go~
I'm the one you need to know!~
I'm the Map~
I'm the Map~
I'm the Map!"
"…"
***
The next day, I found myself in an unknown bustling town, laying down on the bed of the room I rented.
Obviously I can't cross thousands of miles overnight, so thankfully, I managed to find a town and an inn to stay at last night.
"Today's the meeting." Conjuring water out of air, I used it to wash my face and tidy myself.
With a little bit of Transfiguration trick, I turned by orange robe into a fancy dark themed one with gold linings, making me look majestic.
'This should be how dark sorcerers look like.' I chuckled while looking at myself in an ice mirror. The inn doesn't have one, unfortunately.
Using the teleportation circle to teleport at the designated meetup place with Zekram. I vanished from the room and reappeared at another.
This time, the place doesn't look like it came out of a dark fantasy novel, instead, it looks like a cozy living room.
Standing near the fireplace is Zekram, his outfit was also regal and reeks of wealth and royalty.
'Well, he's the head of one of the most prestigious clans in the Underworld.' I mentally shrugged my shoulders and proceeded to greet the man.
Instead of complimenting each other's outfits, we both just nodded our heads at each other before Zekram spoke.
"Let's go. Almost everyone is there." Without further ado, Zekram initiated another teleportation circle and brought us to the meeting place.
"Just stick close to me and people won't question you." Zekram silently whispered as I nodded my head.
For some reason I feel excited at the thought of what I'm doing.
I feel like those spies in movies that I've always dreamed of. Sneaking into high-security places and gathering information that could be used against the enemies, etc.
Which boy and man didn't dream of becoming a spy agent?
Looking around me, I saw several old faces that spoke of thousands of years of experience and wisdom, all standing in front of the very long table.
Even though there are chairs behind them, the old devils weren't taking a seat.
As if they were waiting for someone.
At the same time as I noticed four huge thrones in the meeting room, four teleportation circles appeared and lit up the entire room.
It quickly took the attention of everyone including me and soon, the teleportation circles died down and four figures were left standing on the same spot.
There were three men and one women standing in front of the thrones.
Coincidentally, each have their thrones behind them, with the biggest one belonging to the man in the middle.
Looking at this man, I couldn't help myself from holding my breath.
How can someone be so handsome and majestic?
No, I'm not gay!
This man is just too handsome!
I feel like my eyes are burning just by looking at him.
As if sensing my predicament, Zekram leaned towards me and whispered in my ear.
"That man is Lucifer Morningstar. The King of the Devils."
