Chapter 50: (Doctor Strange 's apprentice.)
Chapter fifty:
A few days passed. I unpacked the last box of my belongings and sorted the items in our room.
Moving into my old house in Sokovia was a fairly simple task. Even after their passing, my name was attached to the house. I assumed that my payment did that hoping that one day Pietro and I could live there after the war.
And their hopes came to fruition. We now stayed at the house in the quiet and private neighborhood. A place where Pietro and I could start fresh.
I placed a stack of clothes in a cabinet, and upon closing it I saw a picture on the dresser. It wasn't there before, Pietro must've placed it there. I picked it up, smiling at the memory of our first time in Central Park.
That moment mirrored the time I first woke up in the Avengers tower, when I first had the picture frame.
I planned on going to New York again soon to reconnect with the Avengers, but wanted to take some time to myself and Pietro before doing so. One friend I knew I wouldn't be able to reunite was Agent Barton... having seen his sacrifice himself for the soul stone. It saddened me that I wouldn't be able to see him again.
I placed the frame down and walked out of the bedroom. I then went downstairs and into the living room, looking out of the sliding doors and seeing Pietro sitting on the steps of the porch.
I opened the doors and looked at Pietro, his eyes fixated on the open space yard.
"I see this as a sort of blank canvas." Said Pietro.
"We can have a garden, a sitting area with a fire pit, maybe even some sort of fountain." I replied.
I then looked at Pietro, but he didn't give me a response. I thought for a second thinking that he didn't like my ideas.
"Or a pool? I'm not much of a swimmer but I guess that would be all right." Said Pietro.
"Already thinking of renovations?" I replied.
"Of course. I want to make living here as comfortable as possible." Said Pietro.
"For you or for me?" I replied.
Pietro sighed. He knew the answer and I assumed too. He then thought of the Avengers, and our life in the Avengers tower before responding.
"You did the right thing reverting Westview back to the way it was, and doing so... you lost so much." Said Pietro.
"I want to be with you for the rest of my life. I want to give you the things you desire most. I want to continue to be by your side the rest of the way." I replied.
Only a couple of weeks ago, I was moaning Vision's death by Thanos the Mad Titan, but today Pietro was living with me again.
"I care about you Pietro." I said.
Pietro just smiled, before he hugged me.
I then wrapped my arms around him and began to hug him back.
"Before we do anything out here, I gotta check with the bank. Hopefully they didn't close my account for being gone a few weeks." Replied Pietro.
"If they did, there's always tossing pizza dough in the city." I said.
"No thanks. Speaking of that, you hungry?" Replied Pietro.
Before I could reply a orange portal opened up and Doctor Strange walked through it.
"Uh... hello Doctor Strange." Said Pietro Maximoff.
"Pietro and Travis Maximoff." Replied Doctor Strange.
"It's good to see you again, Doctor Strange." I said.
I had only seen him a few weeks ago at the battle with Thanos the Mad Titan.
"I see that you're back." Replied Doctor Strange as he looked at Pietro.
"Yeah... I don't really have a explanation." Said Pietro.
"I don't need one. I have a feeling it has something to do with you." Replied Doctor Strange as he looked at me.
"I don't know how I did it... I have yet to understand the full extent of my red chaos magic." I said.
"I've seen and heard what you did in New Jersey. I tried to be of assistance... But the barrier you created kept me out of it." Replied Doctor Strange.
Doctor Strange tried to enter the hex, but his magic was inadequate compared to the sheer power of my red chaos magic, which is why he couldn't enter it.
"I'm sorry." I said but Doctor Strange didn't mind.
"No need to apologize, Travis Maximoff. That is why I'm here now... Still offering help." Replied Doctor Strange.
"What do you mean?" I said before crossing my arms together.
"Agatha Harkness told you about the prophecy?" Replied Doctor Strange.
"I assume you know that too?" I said.
"I know a lot of things, Travis Maximoff. I'm in charge of protecting this reality. Which gives me the responsibility of assisting you in understanding your powers." Replied Doctor Strange.
It would benefit me to have help from Doctor Strange. My red chaos magic was unfathomable, and even he knew that.
"Agatha Harkness told me that the Scarlet Warlock is destined to destroy the world. Is that true?" I said.
Doctor Strange understood that unchecked and untrained, the power of red chaos magic could do indestructible damage not only to the multiverse, but other's. Still, he wanted to tell me that I wasn't a bad person.
"You are not a monster, Travis Maximoff. Your power in the hands of a person like Agatha Harkness, spells trouble. But in your hands... I know that you know how to use it." Replied Doctor Strange.
I then nodded before looking at Pietro.
"So you're going to help me?" I said.
"To the best of my ability." Replied Doctor Strange.
