Marvel: I'm Hermione, from Hogwarts!

Chapter 20: Chapter 18: Coulson

As for who wants to steal the Philosopher's Stone, Hermione knows quite well.

It's none other than the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Quirinus Quirrell.

In his early years, Quirrell traveled abroad and encountered the remnants of Voldemort in the forests of Albania. Seeking greater power, he willingly allied himself with Voldemort, allowing him to possess his body.

However, those possessed by Voldemort gradually weaken and age until they perish. Desperate, Quirrell turned his attention to the magic stone that grants immortality.

This was the main plotline of the first Harry Potter book.

Hermione was well aware of this, but she chose not to warn Harry. Instead, she waited for the situation to unfold and for her chance to act.

...

That evening, Hermione returned to the bathroom.

With a thought, the space around her shifted, and she found herself back in the Marvel world.

With the arrival of the Nimbus 2000, she could now travel swiftly, enhancing her mobility significantly.

The magical writing board appeared in Hermione's mind.

[Hermione Jane Granger]

[Magic Level lv2 (1463/10000)]

Through her spell and broomstick practice, her magic experience had steadily increased, though she was still far from reaching lv3.

The leap from lv2 to lv3 required 10,000 experience points.

A full ten times more than before.

This difference highlighted the gap between adult and underage wizards.

Many wizards spend their entire lives trying to cross this threshold.

However, Hermione wasn't worried. Her exceptional talent and the power of the magic book gave her strong confidence.

Besides magic, she was surprised by another development.

In the magic book's [Artifacts] section, a broomstick icon had appeared.

[Artifacts]

[Broomstick: Nimbus 2000 (analyzed), collected]

With a thought, a broom appeared in Hermione's hand.

Her first collected artifact was a broomstick, something she hadn't expected to be recognized as an artifact.

Once recognized, the magic book automatically analyzed its composition, revealing the production method and required materials.

If she had all the necessary elements, the magic book could synthesize the collected artifact.

In other words, Hermione could now create a similar broomstick, as long as she had the materials.

Crafting skills were unnecessary.

Thankfully, wands weren't considered artifacts; otherwise, with her crafting efficiency, Mr. Ollivander would be in despair.

However, analyzing artifacts took time. This broomstick wasn't particularly rare and only took an afternoon to analyze.

The more valuable an item, the longer the analysis time.

Another advantage of collecting artifacts was storing them in the magic book as icons. They could be accessed anytime, serving as an alternative storage method.

This feature was incredibly convenient for Hermione, sparing her from carrying a broom everywhere.

Returning the broom to the book, Hermione stepped out of the alley.

She bought an apple from a street vendor and leaned against the wall, taking a bite.

The streets were unusually quiet today.

No S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in sight, unlike the bustling Hogwarts.

Perhaps they'd been deployed elsewhere.

The Philosopher's Stone remained safe, and Dumbledore was vigilant.

You have to work hard too, Hermione!

All the accumulated magic power hasn't been in vain.

As long as you don't stop, the road will keep extending...

"Zila—"

Lost in thought, she was startled by the roar of a sleek black car, which screeched to a halt before her.

No gunfight, thankfully.

A bald man with a Mediterranean hairstyle stepped out, wearing a kind smile.

"Hello, Miss Granger, I'm Phil Coulson from S.H.I.E.L.D."

He introduced himself.

In truth, Hermione recognized him instantly.

Hermione nodded and asked, "Oh, it's you. Where's Sister Natasha?"

"Agent Romanoff sustained some injuries during a mission. It's inconvenient for her to be in the field right now, so I was sent in her place. My apologies," Coulson explained with genuine regret.

This wasn't a lie. After Hermione left, Natasha, who had been waiting for a long time, was assigned another mission. She was sent to apprehend an arms smuggler. Although successful, she sustained minor injuries and was recuperating at headquarters.

Hermione understood.

After all, regardless of Black Widow's fame and future status as an Avenger, she was essentially a highly skilled ordinary person. No mission was without risk.

"Sister Natasha is hurt? What happened?"

Hermione's eyes showed just the right amount of concern and worry.

Seeing Hermione's "genuine concern," Coulson felt reassured.

Indeed, Agent Romanoff's mission was completed flawlessly. She seemed to have formed a good relationship with this young witch.

Natasha was supposed to handle this meeting, but due to her injury, the director had to find a temporary replacement, and Coulson was the top choice.

Building a connection with Miss Wizard was crucial, and every interaction needed to be handled with care.

Among S.H.I.E.L.D.'s senior agents, the intimidating bald Indian and the menacing Crossbones Rumlow could easily scare the child away with their presence.

Others were occupied with their duties, leaving Coulson as the perfect fit for this task.

Some people just don't look like bad guys, and Coulson was one of them. His friendly demeanor made him approachable.

"Miss Granger, don't worry, Natasha's injuries are minor and not life-threatening. She's just temporarily immobile," Coulson reassured.

Hermione relaxed visibly, gently patting her chest.

Seeing this, Coulson felt more at ease and got straight to the point: "The reason we're here, Miss Granger, is that the director hopes to communicate and share some information as partners. Would you agree?"

He didn't beat around the bush, directly stating his intentions.

"Sure!"

Hermione agreed readily, already prepared for a meeting with Nick Fury.

"But I want to visit Sister Natasha first!"

Character consistency was key.

Coulson nodded, having anticipated this. "Please get in the car, and we'll take you there."

Hermione climbed into the car without hesitation, showing no signs of worry.

After all, she's still a child, unguarded... Coulson mused, though S.H.I.E.L.D. harbored no ill intentions this time.

A child's simplicity could be both a blessing and a curse.

Easily approachable and guided, but also easily misled.

They must keep a close eye on her, ensuring she's neither exploited nor deceived.

...

The car pulled up in front of a towering, futuristic building.

Hermione stepped out and looked up.

It was a skyscraper, nearly a hundred stories high, exuding a high-tech vibe.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Triskelion Headquarters.

Upon entering, Hermione drew many curious glances.

Given that wizards' existence was a top-secret, only a handful at S.H.I.E.L.D. knew about her. Seeing Coulson, the director's right-hand man, escorting a young girl in black robes surprised many agents.

They entered the elevator and arrived at the agents' medical floor, where Coulson led Hermione into a luxurious ward.
