Marvel: My Eyes Defies Fate.

Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Decimating Hydra Bases.

Inside the Hydra base, chaos erupted without warning. The sudden rampage of the Winter Soldier left everyone stunned. Despite the bizarre circumstances, Hydra's soldiers continued charging forward, desperately trying to subdue him.

Elsewhere in the base, a man's face twisted in alarm at the scene unfolding on the monitors. Without hesitation, he retreated to a secure room deep within the compound and dialed in a coded message. He was reporting the crisis to his superior.

Far away, in a high-rise building overlooking the city, a man received the coded transmission. It was Alexander Pierce, the Hydra leader overseeing this operation. Publicly, he was known as the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D..

When Pierce decrypted the message, his expression darkened with rage.

"Damn it, the Winter Soldier's been compromised. Didn't they eliminate Kurogai at the start of this mission?"

He slammed his fist onto the desk. As a former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Pierce was fully aware of Kurogai's mind-controlling abilities. That's why he'd ordered the Winter Soldier to detonate the abandoned factory the moment Kurogai was lured inside — to avoid precisely this outcome.

What he hadn't counted on was that Kurogai, a sorcerer of considerable power, had emerged completely unscathed. Not only had the attempt failed, but now even the Winter Soldier was under his control.

"Damn it all, the plan's gone to hell. The Winter Soldier's lost. All we can do now is evacuate the critical data. Such a waste of a weapon."

Pierce ground his teeth. Losing the Winter Soldier was a significant blow, one even Pierce couldn't take lightly. But as for his own safety, he wasn't concerned. He wasn't a fool like Whitehall, who had holed himself up in his own lair and paid the ultimate price for his arrogance.

Pierce had long since isolated his operations, ensuring that those at the Hydra base had no idea of his true identity or whereabouts. What pained him was losing valuable data and the weaponized asset he'd invested so heavily in.

What Pierce didn't realize was that from the moment Kurogai first laid eyes on the Winter Soldier, he already knew exactly who was behind this.

Back at the Hydra base, Kurogai hadn't needed to lift a finger. He watched from the sidelines, observing the Winter Soldier tearing through the base, leaving destruction in his wake. This was exactly what he intended — Hydra's prized human weapon would bury them himself.

And for those who thought to flee, it was already too late. Kurogai had sealed the perimeter with a containment spell. No one was getting out.

He'd made it clear: Hydra would be eradicated, and no one was escaping to rebuild it.

The sound of gunfire, screams, and the wet thud of bodies hitting the ground echoed through the corridors. Blood pooled across the floor.

Before long, the base fell silent. The Winter Soldier had decimated it single-handedly.

In one respect, Hydra's Winter Soldier program had been a success — they had created a formidable killing machine. But they'd made one fatal mistake: choosing the wrong enemy. Now, their most lethal weapon had turned against them.

Kurogai stepped into the blood-soaked base. The Winter Soldier was holding several men hostage, the ones Kurogai had ordered spared for interrogation.

"You should know plenty about Hydra," Kurogai said coldly. "Tell me — where are the other bases? What else is Hydra hiding?"

His crimson eyes locked onto the survivors, the inverted V-shaped Geass symbol flickering to life. In an instant, their will crumbled.

Kurogai was already aware of the high-ranking members — people like Pierce, Crossbones, and Arnim Zola, the latter having uploaded his consciousness into a computer long ago. But the smaller cells, the lesser-known outposts — those were the ones he needed to root out.

He wouldn't repeat the mistake of leaving Hydra with room to recover. Cut off every head. Leave nothing.

After a swift interrogation, Kurogai extracted the locations of several smaller Hydra branches. Though minor in comparison, he wouldn't let them survive.

"Bucky," Kurogai ordered, his voice sharp. "Level this base."

Without hesitation, the Winter Soldier obeyed. As Kurogai exited the facility, the ground shook behind him. A deafening explosion consumed the Hydra base in fire and rubble.

A moment later, Bucky rejoined Kurogai, expressionless but ready. The contract that bound him to Kurogai's command remained intact. One base down — but Hydra wasn't finished yet.

"Next target," Kurogai said quietly.

From the interrogation, he'd learned of a nearby Hydra contact point disguised as a bar in a small town. It was a minor outpost, but it might hold more valuable intel.

Kurogai raised his hand, a shimmering golden portal forming in the air before them. In an instant, he and the Winter Soldier stepped through.

This was Kurogai's advantage — his ability to strike anywhere, instantly. No matter where Hydra tried to run, if he knew their location, they had nowhere left to hide.

And on this day, slaughter had come for Hydra.
