Marvel: My Eyes Defies Fate.

Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Pierce Turn.

In a small town, a dilapidated bar stood, its tables and chairs smashed to pieces. Several men lay groaning on the ground while a figure with a mechanical arm loomed over them. On a nearby sofa, a young man with heterochromatic eyes watched the scene with detached indifference.

This was Kurogai and the Winter Soldier. After arriving in the town, Kurogai hadn't bothered with pleasantries — he immediately sent the Winter Soldier in to subdue the place. He already knew these people were Hydra operatives, confirmed by the information obtained at the previous base. Once the Winter Soldier had them on the floor, Kurogai rose slowly and approached.

"Tell me everything you know about Hydra — their plans, base locations, and any names you have. Don't leave anything out."

His crimson eye glinted, fixing his gaze on the terrified Hydra agents.

Geass: Absolute Command — activated.

Within moments, Kurogai had extracted all the information he needed.

Hydra was more fragmented than he'd expected. Many cells operated independently, their members unaware of each other's affiliations. Even someone as high-ranking as Pierce only controlled a portion of Hydra's network. Kurogai's objective now was to hunt down every remaining branch.

"Deal with them."

After getting what he needed, Kurogai turned and walked out of the bar, leaving Bucky to finish the job.

Once it was done, Kurogai opened a shimmering golden portal and disappeared from the small town. Whatever reaction the locals might have when they discovered the aftermath was no longer his concern.

Moments later, at another hidden base, a golden halo appeared, and the figures of Kurogai and Bucky stepped through.

"This is our next target. Same as before — move out, Winter Soldier," Kurogai ordered.

Without a word, Bucky nodded and charged ahead.

With Bucky as his enforcer, Kurogai's work became far more efficient. Very few men could match the Winter Soldier in combat. Even elite soldiers usually didn't last more than a couple of moves.

Kurogai rarely needed to lift a finger. He set up a barrier spell to prevent escapes while Bucky swept through the base. Afterward, Kurogai would interrogate the survivors, extract what he needed, and eliminate the rest.

Once the job was done, the two of them moved on to the next stronghold.

At the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, inside a private office, Alexander Pierce sat clutching a communicator, his brow deeply furrowed. The moment reports came in about the Winter Soldier attacking a Hydra base, Pierce had scrambled to warn the other locations. But as time passed, more and more outposts went dark. Some couldn't be reached at all.

A creeping dread gnawed at him.

"Is that damn heterochromatic-eyed freak using mind control to find the rest of the bases?"

His expression twisted in fury. He knew about Kurogai's terrifying ability to dominate a person's will, which made it entirely plausible that he was systematically rooting out Hydra's hidden strongholds.

At the thought, Pierce's blood boiled. Those bases represented years of planning and resources.

"Damn bastard. I'll kill you for this."

But despite his rage, Pierce dared not confront Kurogai directly. He still remembered the aftermath of their last encounter, when the Winter Soldier was ordered to blow up an entire factory in a failed attempt to stop him.

Calming slightly, Pierce picked up his communicator and issued a coded order.

"Have the remaining bases evacuate immediately to the fallback location. If you're compromised — terminate yourselves. No exceptions."

Unbeknownst to Kurogai, Pierce had recently completed a new secret base. No other Hydra operative knew of its existence, and thus no interrogation could reveal its location. Pierce was determined to preserve the last remnant of his power.

He also ordered his base commanders to commit suicide if captured. That way, even if Hydra lost some personnel, Kurogai wouldn't uncover the new refuge. It was a ruthless tactic, but Pierce didn't hesitate.

"Once this storm passes, I'll see you dead, freak," Pierce muttered venomously, placing the communicator down.

He knew better than to confront Kurogai directly right now. Instead, he would lay low, let this blow over, and then strike when the opportunity presented itself. Poison, sabotage, an ambush — there were countless ways for a spy to kill a man. Pierce was already considering several.

But before those thoughts could solidify, a voice spoke from the empty room.

"Is that so? I'd love to see how you plan to do it."

Pierce spun around, his face draining of color. Standing in his office were two figures he recognized immediately — Kurogai, the bi-colored-eyed boy, and the Winter Soldier. Behind them, a golden portal shimmered as it vanished.

This time, Kurogai had come for him personally.

The underlings were dealt with. Now it was the leader's turn.

I added an English name for him in the later chapter, around Chapter 150.

I mean the surname and middlename.
