Chapter 113: CHAPTER 113
Rhodes and Hela reshaped the planet Ego according to their imagination.
The members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, having spent a long time traveling through the universe, were exhausted. They took the opportunity to rest on Ego before continuing their adventure once they had recovered.
Although Star-Lord (Peter Quill) felt a little sad that Ego had been completely reduced to Rhodes' puppet, he knew it was a better outcome than being entirely consumed by his father, Ego. After all, Rhodes had saved him—Star-Lord was just feeling a bit conflicted.
Lately, Rhodes and Hela had not made any significant moves, and as a result, the universe seemed to have settled into a period of calm along with them.
Meanwhile, Asgard continued its hunt for parasites, and Rocket Raccoon's anti-high-frequency sound wave device vanished as he took a break, while the Grandmaster of Sakaar hid himself with all his might.
Few knew about the existence of this anti-high-frequency technology. While many alien spectators had witnessed parasitic fusion creatures in battle, only the Grandmaster and Rocket Raccoon truly understood how the device worked.
If the Grandmaster wished to continue his business of parasite wrestling, he would naturally ensure this instrument was destroyed completely, keeping its secrets buried forever.
As for Rocket Raccoon, since Rhodes had saved the Guardians of the Galaxy, he no longer had any intention of making such a device again.
Thus, no parasite in the entire universe was aware of this technology.

In a Remote Star Field
In this seemingly peaceful universe, a barren star field held its own turmoil.
Thanos' son, Zane, was constantly journeying across the cosmos. At this moment, both Thanos and Zane were pursuing the same goal—seeking power.
However, while Thanos, guided by the Creator Goddess of Death, was searching for a force strong enough to oppose Rhodes, his son Zane was on a mission to find the strength to defeat his own father.
Thanos, as a warrior from Titan, had an unparalleled reputation across the universe. His very name struck fear into countless beings.
Zane, though also a Titan, was far less renowned—his name carried barely a fraction of the weight of Thanos'. Whenever he appeared, people referred to him as "Thanos' son," rather than recognizing him as a powerful warrior in his own right.
As Thanos put his grand plan into motion, gathering forces, Zane couldn't help but feel uneasy. Even the five Black Order generals under Thanos' command were enough to make him wary.
With each passing day, Zane's resentment toward his father deepened.
Determined to find power to counter Thanos, Zane scoured the universe. Though his father did not yet wield the Infinity Gauntlet and was not at his peak, Thanos remained an overwhelming force—one that Zane could only look up to in dread.
Standing on a desolate planet, Zane let out a frustrated sigh.
"Damn it! Where has all the power in the universe gone? Why can't I find anything? No… if I can't obtain real strength, there's no way I'll ever be able to kill him."
As Zane racked his brain for a new place to search, he suddenly noticed something unusual. Looking up into the sky, he saw a thin red streak of light flash by—like a shooting star.
However, Zane's sharp instincts told him this was no ordinary meteor. That fleeting glow carried an immense, powerful energy, one that sent a thrill through him.
Could it be? Had the power he desperately sought finally revealed itself?
Without hesitation, Zane set off toward the source of the mysterious energy. Fortunately, it wasn't far—only a few planets away.
His search led him to a distant, frozen world—a planet locked in ice.
Here, towering snow-capped mountains stretched endlessly, and an eternal, biting wind howled across the barren landscape. The planet's temperature remained hundreds of degrees below zero, making it almost entirely uninhabitable. Aside from some microscopic organisms that thrived in extreme cold, no signs of life could be found.
But Zane had no interest in the planet's harsh climate—his focus was on something else.
The mysterious force had crashed onto this icy world, tearing a massive hole through the atmosphere. Even from space, the gaping wound in the planet's surface was visible. It was a crater hundreds of kilometers wide and at least a hundred kilometers across.
Zane descended into the massive impact site.
The crater's depth was staggering—sixty to seventy kilometers deep. Yet, even at this depth, there was no exposed rock or soil—only endless ice.
It was as if the entire planet was made of solid, frozen water.
Walking through the center of the crater, Zane observed dense white mist lingering in the air. This mist was caused by the immense heat generated upon impact, instantly vaporizing the ice that had never melted for eons.
The sudden rise in temperature had significantly altered the surrounding environment. In this frozen wasteland, where the temperature was normally hundreds of degrees below zero, the impact had temporarily raised it to near the freezing point.
As Zane stepped forward, he felt his boots sink slightly into the partially melted ice. Small pools of stagnant water had formed around him.
Following the heat waves radiating from the center of the impact site, Zane soon discovered the source of the energy.
The air around it was almost blistering, a stark contrast to the freezing world it had landed on. Even though the planet itself was hundreds of degrees below zero, this object emitted waves of heat so intense that Zane could feel them burning his skin.
As the thick mist slowly dissipated, the mysterious object finally came into view.
Zane's pupils contracted in shock.
"Oh my god… is this… a Phoenix Egg?"
Right before his eyes lay an oval object, roughly the size of a shot put, its surface unclear and shifting.
There was no doubt about it—the energy it radiated was unmistakably that of the Phoenix Force.
Even after crashing onto this icy planet, the Phoenix Egg continued to emit immense heat, its sheer power making the surrounding air shimmer.
Zane knew what he was looking at.
The Phoenix Force was an ancient, primordial entity—born at the dawn of creation itself. It represented chaos, eternity, immortality, and limitless transformation. It was the embodiment of life, spiritual power, and the infinite cycle of death and rebirth.
And now, that unimaginable force lay before him.
The Phoenix Egg symbolizes life and emotion.
If Zane could obtain it, his strength would reach an unprecedented level.
The allure of such power was almost irresistible—an overwhelming temptation for someone as desperate for strength as Zane.
He was certain that if he could absorb the power of the Phoenix Egg, he would ascend directly to multiversal power.
Zane was ecstatic about his discovery. He could already imagine himself effortlessly overwhelming Thanos, treating him like nothing more than a plaything.
Just as he was about to completely absorb the Phoenix Egg's energy, a spatial rift suddenly tore open beside it.
Startled, Zane instinctively reached out, trying to seize the egg before anything unexpected could happen.
But fate was not on his side.
A massive purple fist, radiating immense power, shot out from the rift and struck him with devastating force.
He had no chance to resist.
The sheer impact sent him hurtling backward, blood spraying from his mouth as he crashed into the frozen ground.
Wracked with pain and teetering on the edge of unconsciousness, Zane forced himself to look toward the spatial rift.
Through his blurred vision, he recognized the massive purple arm.
It belonged to the one person he had dreamed of killing countless times.
His father.
Thanos.
Thanos stood there, holding the Phoenix Egg in his grasp.
With a cold sneer, he looked down at Zane, who lay sprawled on the ground, struggling like a dying animal.
"Hmph. My foolish son," Thanos scoffed. "This Phoenix Egg is far beyond your reach. Power of this magnitude belongs only to the strong. And you?"
He smirked.
"You will never be strong. You are pathetically weak—laughably so."
Turning away dismissively, Thanos added, "I don't even consider you worth killing."
"Stay here. Lie in the cold, reflect on your failure… forever."
With that, Thanos stepped into the rift, taking the Phoenix Egg with him.
The spatial tear sealed shut, vanishing without a trace.
As the Phoenix Egg disappeared, the surrounding cold rushed back in an instant. The mist in the air crystallized into tiny ice shards, falling like fragile glass onto the frozen ground.
Had this planet been closer to a star, the sight might have been breathtaking—a rain of shimmering, multicolored ice crystals.
But Zane could see none of it.
His heart was just as cold and lifeless as the wasteland around him.
Hopeless.
He didn't even know where Thanos had gone.
And even if he did…
He stood no chance.
Without the power of the Phoenix, even a Thanos without the Infinity Gauntlet was far beyond him.
Zane clenched his fists, his body shaking with rage.
"Ah…!"
A raw, guttural scream tore from his throat, echoing through the frigid wasteland.
"Thanos… I will kill you! Sooner or later… I will kill you!"
But his roar was swallowed by the merciless wind, vanishing into the void.

Elsewhere in the Cosmos
Far from the frozen planet, Thanos studied the Phoenix Egg in his palm.
Compared to his massive hand, it looked no bigger than a pigeon's egg.
Yet, its beauty was unparalleled.
"This is magnificent," he murmured. "The most exquisite existence in the universe."
Beside him, the Goddess of Creation and Death chuckled softly.
"You are quite fortunate," she said. "I never expected you to find all the Phoenix Eggs. But in a way, you have your foolish son to thank for this. Without him, you might never have discovered it."
Thanos scowled.
"I have nothing to say about that failure," he muttered.
"He is nothing but a disgrace. Destined to lose. Always."
The Goddess smirked.
"Swallow it," she urged. "Gain the power of the multiverse."
Thanos didn't hesitate.
Power had always been his ultimate pursuit.
Without a second thought, he shoved the Phoenix Egg into his mouth.
The egg, sensing his insatiable ambition, instantly exploded with energy.
Thanos let out a thunderous roar as unimaginable power surged through his body.
Blinding red light radiated from him, his seven orifices glowing like molten fire. The heat waves from his body distorted space itself.
Yet, the Goddess of Creation and Death remained unmoved.
A dark mist constantly seeped from her form, filled with the whispering souls of the dead.
The dark energy and the Phoenix Force clashed in the air, but she stood her ground, untouched.
Thanos' body trembled violently as he fought to absorb the immense energy.
For a moment, it seemed as though the Phoenix Force would consume him entirely.
But Thanos was no ordinary being.
Through sheer resilience, he endured, adapted, and ultimately conquered the raging power.
Gradually, the chaotic energy stabilized.
His body fully assimilated the Phoenix Force, and his strength skyrocketed beyond anything he had ever known.
Finally, the surge of power settled, halting at the multiversal level.
Thanos opened his eyes.
Twin beams of scorching red light radiated from them, carrying a heat so intense that even a mere glance could incinerate.
The Thanos who had once been humiliated and overpowered was gone.
Now, he stood as a multiversal force.
Thanos clenched his fists, feeling the raw, unrestrained energy coursing through his veins.
"So this… is the power of the Phoenix," he whispered. "It's beyond anything I imagined."
The Goddess of Creation and Death smiled approvingly.
"Yes. Congratulations. You have ascended into the multiverse."
Despite his newfound strength, Thanos did not immediately seek out Rhodes for revenge.
He was powerful now—closer than ever to Rhodes' level.
But he hesitated.
He recalled the words the Goddess of Creation and Death had spoken to him before she had saved him from Rhodes.
"Even I cannot defeat Rhodes."
At his current level, challenging Rhodes might still be reckless.
The Goddess' voice cut through his thoughts.
"Do not grow complacent, Thanos," she warned. "The power you've absorbed is merely a fragment of the Phoenix Force, not its entirety."
"The true Phoenix Force is far greater than what you now possess. If you obtain its full power, you will surpass even the multiverse itself."
Her words sent a thrill through Thanos.
Beyond the multiverse…
A power even greater than this?
His journey was far from over.
With a slow, determined nod, Thanos clenched his fists.
"Then I will take all of it," he declared.
"And I will become unstoppable."
