Chapter 118: Marvel 118
Matt, however, had his sights set on the leader. He weaved through the chaos, deflecting strikes with his golden sword, its radiant glow cutting through the dim light of the chamber. As he approached the High Orc, the leader swung his massive war hammer in a wide arc, the force of the swing enough to crack the ground.
Matt dodged with a quick step, his sword slicing through the air in a counterstrike. The leader roared in anger, charging at Matt with relentless ferocity.
"Come on, big guy," Matt taunted, parrying another swing. "Let's see what you've got."
The leader's strength was overwhelming, but Matt's skill and precision kept him a step ahead. He waited for the perfect moment, then struck with a downward slash that left a glowing scar across the Orc's chest.
"Brian! Misty! Take his flanks!" Matt ordered.
Brian and Misty moved in sync, attacking the leader from both sides. Brian's gauntlets landed thunderous blows, while Misty's Inferno Sword tore through the leader's defenses.
The leader stumbled, but he wasn't done yet. He let out a deafening roar, summoning a surge of dark energy that sent everyone flying backward.
"Stay on him!" Matt shouted, recovering quickly and charging back in.
Liam's hawk dove at the leader, clawing at his face and momentarily blinding him. Trion took the opportunity to launch a concentrated fireball, hitting the leader square in the chest and staggering him further.
"Now!" Matt yelled, leaping high into the air. His sword glowed brighter than ever as he brought it down in a decisive strike, cleaving through the leader's armor and delivering a massive wound across his chest.
The Orc staggered back, clutching its chest as it fell to its knees.
"Time to get another one," Matt said, a determined glint in his eyes as he released his Dragon Haki.
The High Orc trembled in fear, its eyes widening in confusion as it knelt involuntarily. It stared at Matt as if seeing a dragon in human form.
Matt remained silent, his gaze unwavering. He stepped closer, placing his hand on the Orc's head as he activated the Beast Evolution Skill.
"Roaaarrrrrrr!"
The Orc cried out in agony, its body convulsing violently as it fell to the ground. A cocoon of energy began to form around its body, pulsating with raw power. The once-mighty Orc's figure began to change and strengthen, the evolution taking hold.
"You're using Beast Evolution on him?" Misty asked, her Inferno Sword still glowing faintly as she glanced at the cocoon and then at the other Elite High Orcs, who had fled or were incapacitated.
Matt nodded, standing tall as he watched the transformation unfold. "Yes. We're gaining another partner," he said with a smirk.
The cocoon burst apart with an explosive crack, and a figure emerged, stepping out confidently. The group froze in awe as the figure revealed itself—a humanoid being with a single black horn protruding from its forehead.
"This is...?" Matt trailed off, his voice tinged with curiosity and astonishment. A notification appeared before him, confirming his suspicions.
[Oni - SS Rank]
"Great," Matt muttered, a grin spreading across his face.
The newly evolved being knelt before Matt, bowing its head respectfully. Despite its humanlike appearance, it retained hints of its Orc heritage. Its tan skin glowed with vitality, its hair was a familiar deep brown, and its striking golden eyes radiated intelligence and power.
"Master," the Oni spoke, its voice deep yet composed, "my name is Gachk. Thank you for helping me evolve."
Matt nodded, impressed by the transformation.
Gachk continued, rising to his full height. "Thanks to you, I am no longer shackled by my limitations. My strength, my mind... everything has been set free. I am at your service."
"For now, rest. I'll call you when it's time," Matt said, dismissing Gachk into the Infinite Eater Dimension, a space designed to safely hold and sustain his allies.
He turned to the group, his tone firm yet encouraging. "You guys can handle raids without me now."
The others nodded in understanding, confidence beginning to bloom after their recent victories.
"Go on and focus on clearing the B-rank and lower dungeons. Stick to what you can manage without me," Matt instructed. His voice carried a mix of authority and trust.
"What about you?" Misty asked, tilting her head curiously.
"I'll be collecting more of these monsters," Matt replied with a smirk, his excitement evident. "I'm heading to the higher-level dungeons—A-rank beasts and above. The materials and potential recruits there will be far more valuable."
The group exchanged glances, sensing the growing gap in their capabilities compared to Matt. But rather than discouragement, it only fueled their determination to grow stronger.
"Alright, we'll make sure to clear as many raids as possible," Leon said, his light aura glowing faintly.
"Good," Matt replied. "Stay safe and stick together. Call me if anything feels out of control."
Saying so he went in different cab going towards the Association as he took Five A rank Dungeons to himself, Sung Jin Woo has just gotten the player system as Matt read on the news about the double Dungeon incident.
The story is now starting of this world, " Good" Matt mumbled.
Over the next few days, Matt tirelessly delved into various dungeons, each dive more challenging than the last. His goal was singular—to recruit and evolve powerful monsters to bolster his growing roster. By the end of his expedition, he had successfully secured five new allies, each brimming with untold potential:
Alrahzar - Death Demon (SSS Rank)
Alrahzar was the evolved form of the Arch Lich Matt encountered in a haunted necropolis. The creature radiated an aura of pure dread, its skeletal frame now armored in dark obsidian, with pulsating veins of crimson energy coursing through its form. As a Death Demon, Alrahzar's command over necromancy and dark magic had reached unparalleled heights, capable of summoning entire armies of the undead with a wave of its hand.
Lyre - Naga Empress (SS Rank)
Lyre had once been the Naga Queen ruling over the serpentine hordes of an A-rank water dungeon. After her evolution into the Naga Empress, she had transformed into a stunningly powerful figure. Her serpentine lower body gleamed like polished emerald, while her upper form radiated a regal air, adorned with scales that shimmered like sapphire under the light. Lyre wielded mastery over water manipulation and hypnotic allure, making her a force to be reckoned with both in combat and strategy.
