Chapter 121: Marvel121
The other S-rank hunters exchanged uneasy glances, their skepticism palpable. One of them finally spoke up, "Can you prove it?"
Thomas crossed his arms, his golden eyes locked on Matt. "If what you're saying is true, show me. Prove it."
Matt shrugged, unfazed. "They are my proof," he said, gesturing toward Misty and Leon, who stood a little behind him. "Just check what rank they were before they joined me."
Thomas hesitated for a moment before nodding to his secretary, Sara. She quickly pulled up the Hunter Guild's database on her tablet. After a few taps, she froze, her eyes widening in shock.
"What is it?" Thomas asked, leaning closer.
Sara hesitated before answering, her voice slightly shaky. "Misty was originally a D-rank hunter... and Leon was E-rank."
"What?" James exclaimed, disbelief etched on his face.
Thomas furrowed his brows as he stared at Matt. "You mean to tell me you took a D-rank and a E-rank and brought them up to S-rank?"
Matt nodded, completely unfazed by their reactions. "That's exactly what I'm saying. My ability doesn't just stop at summoning or creating realms. I can elevate those under me, help them surpass their limits. They become stronger than they ever thought possible."
Thomas's gaze hardened as he processed the information. "If this is true... you're even more dangerous than I initially thought," he said, though there was a hint of admiration in his tone.
Matt smirked. "Dangerous? Perhaps. But only to those who get in my way."
Thomas looked at Matt and said, "Well, anyway, you seem like quite the man from the looks of it." He nodded toward Sara. "I originally came here to give you this," he said, handing over a file to Matt.
Matt opened the file and read aloud, "Jeju Island?"
Thomas nodded. "That island is dominated by an S-rank dungeon outbreak. The Korean government wants us to take care of it after their two unsuccessful raids. But, they're being too stingy," Thomas explained with a shrug.
"They want 70% of the profit from there, so I wasn't going to bother with it. Instead, I came here to offer it to you," he said, then added with a smirk, "You're strong and new, so even 30% of the profit might benefit you."
Thomas glanced around at Matt's domain and continued, "But seeing you have all this, I guess you won't settle for just 30%."
Matt nodded in agreement. "Well, I'll do it. It will give me a chance to earn the World Rank title," he said confidently.
Thomas raised an eyebrow. "Yes, those who conquer S-rank dungeons are granted the title of World Rank Hunters—like me, for instance. I earned mine when I cleared an S-rank Dragon dungeon, though I'll admit, there were others with me at the time."
He looked at Matt with a grin. "But if you manage to do it alone, it'll definitely earn you the World Rank title."
Matt nodded again. "I'll do it," he said firmly.
Thomas nodded back, satisfied. "Good. I'll leave the details to my secretary, Sara. She'll assist you with whatever you need," he said, motioning for Sara to take over.
As they exited the Infinite Dimension, Thomas glanced back at Matt. "I'll keep an eye on your progress. Don't disappoint me."
With that, he left, leaving Matt and Sara to finalize the details of the mission.
After a moment, Sara helped Matt contact the Korean government and the Hunter Association. They negotiated the deal, with Matt insisting on 40% of the profits instead of the original 30%. Though hesitant, they eventually agreed. A press conference was scheduled two days later, where Matt would officially sign the agreement and announce the raid.
Before leaving, Sara looked at Matt, hesitating slightly before speaking. "There's one more thing," she said, her tone more curious than formal.
Matt raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"
"Does your ability work on non-awakened individuals?" she asked, her expression a mix of intrigue and anticipation.
Matt studied her for a moment before activating his ability. A screen appeared in his mind's eye:
[Sara Williams]
[Trait: Telekinetic (A)]
"If you're asking whether I can awaken you or not, then yes, I can," Matt replied casually. "You already have the potential to be an A-rank telekinetic."
Sara's eyes widened in shock. "How is that possible? Can you really do it?" she asked, her voice filled with both hope and disbelief.
Matt smirked slightly. "It's within my power. But it's not without cost," he said cryptically, letting the weight of his words sink in.
Sara stared at him, her mind racing. This could change everything.
"How much?" Sara finally asked, her voice steady but laced with anticipation.
Matt chuckled. "I didn't mean monetary cost," he clarified. "I meant that you'll need the core—or what you call the Rune Stone—of an A-rank monster with mind-related capabilities."
Her brow furrowed. "Just... consume it?"
Matt nodded. "Exactly. Once you do, you'll awaken your potential. Simple as that."
Sara looked at him incredulously. "Really? That's all?"
Matt gestured toward Trion, who was standing nearby. "Ask him. He awakened after consuming the core of a Lava Hound."
Trion nodded in confirmation. "It's true. The process works, though it's intense."
Sara's eyes sparkled with hope as she processed this revelation. "Thank you," she said sincerely, giving Matt a grateful smile before walking off, her determination evident in her stride.
"So, you're asking us to stay while you head to Korea, right?" Liam asked, his tone cautious.
Matt shook his head. "No, I'm going to handle this one alone," he replied firmly. "Gotta make my name resound throughout the world."
The others exchanged uneasy glances. "Are you sure? It's an S-rank dungeon," Misty asked, her concern evident.
Matt smirked, leaning back with confidence. "Relax, I'm more than ready. Remember, I can summon an entire army if needed," he explained. "And besides, I've climbed to SSS-rank now, so there's no need to worry about me."
" SSS rank what rank is this?" Liam asked as other also looked at him confused.
