Marvel : Strongest Siblings

Chapter 128: Marvel 128

Ryuji's eyes widened at Matt's words. It was common knowledge among those who knew Matt that he possessed a unique skill—an ability that allowed him to see through and extract information about any target he laid his eyes upon. This skill was one of the reasons Matt's words were often treated as undeniable truth. Hearing Matt declare the identity of the man before them made Ryuji focus intently on the chained figure.

"But he's no longer what he once was," Matt continued, his voice calm as he stood directly in front of Legia. "Now, he's a pawn of the Rulers—the so-called guardians of the galaxies and worlds. Isn't that right, Legia?"

Matt's voice cut through the silence as he addressed the kneeling man, whose head remained lowered. Slowly, Legia raised his head and locked eyes with Matt.

"Who… are you?" Legia asked, his tone low but curious. "You are not one of the Rulers' Vessels, their pawns against us. Nor are you a Monarch's Vessel, our tools against humanity. Who are you?"

Matt raised his hand, and black mist began to seep from his palm, swirling ominously around him. His eyes gleamed with cold determination as he replied, "The one who will rewrite the balance. The one who will end your existence."

Legia's eyes widened, but before he could react further, Matt activated his ability. "Infinite Eater," he whispered.

A dark force enveloped Legia, and the Monarch screamed in agony. "ARGHHHHHH!" The sound of his cries echoed through the grand chamber as Matt mercilessly devoured him piece by piece.

Monarchs, being spiritual entities formed from pure essence, could only truly be destroyed by targeting their souls. And that was exactly what Matt was doing—stripping away Legia's very existence, consuming his power, and claiming his essence.

Slowly, what remained of Legia's existence was devoured by Matt. As the process ended, Matt received a series of notifications.

[Congratulations! You have gained the Trait: Primordial.]

Matt closed his eyes, feeling the newfound powers surging within him. He nodded to himself before speaking.

"Let's go back. We're done here," he said.

Ryuji simply nodded, following a few steps behind him. "What was that? It looked like you absorbed him," Ryuji asked.

Matt nodded. "I imprisoned him. Monarchs are immortal—only another Monarch can truly kill them. So I sealed him away before some fool gets enticed by his offers of power and ends up setting him free."

Ryuji let out a deep breath. "That's true. There are plenty of people out there who would agree to his deal." He hesitated before adding a silent thought to himself: Even I might have considered it if it meant reaching the true peak. He looked at Matt's back, his expression unreadable.

Meanwhile, outside…

"This just in! Matt has successfully completed another S-Rank solo raid, once again proving that he is the world's strongest Hunter!"

The news anchor's excited voice echoed across the screens, replaying the details of Matt's incredible feat over and over again.

As the news spread like wildfire, the world buzzed with discussions about Matt's latest solo raid. Forums, news channels, and social media exploded with theories and speculations.

In a high-tech conference room, several high-ranking Hunters and officials were gathered, their expressions grim.

"This is the second time he's done it," one of them muttered, watching the footage of Matt effortlessly clearing the S-Rank Dungeon. "He's not just strong… he's something else entirely."

Goto Ryuji, still recovering from the overwhelming experience inside the dungeon, sat silently among them. The memory of Matt's power—how he effortlessly devoured Legia, the Monarch of Beginning—sent chills down his spine. He imprisoned a Monarch like it was nothing… just what is Matt really?

An older man, one of the Association's directors, sighed. "At this rate, Matt isn't just a Hunter anymore. He's something far beyond that."

Another Hunter hesitated before speaking. "There's also something else… the Monarchs."

Everyone fell silent.

"Monarchs' pawns? Rulers' vessels? The world is far different from what we thought…"

"The appearance of Hunters and Gates… it seems less like a coincidence and more like the calm before the actual storm," the old man said, his voice heavy.

The others grimly nodded, realizing the truth behind his words.

Same discussion was happening all over the world, as they each thought of Legia words, learning of man things as well as getting countless unanswered questions.

Everyone in the world began to debate the situation, causing Matt's own house to be swarmed by reporters, as well as the Hunter Guild headquarters.

Seeing the situation, the United States Hunter Association formally requested Matt to appear at the upcoming world conference to clear up any doubts.

Matt agreed, and the date for the conference was set.

As the day of the world conference arrived, representatives from every major Hunter association, government officials, and even top-ranked Hunters gathered in a massive hall. Cameras were set up to broadcast the event worldwide, and millions of people eagerly tuned in.

Matt walked into the hall, his presence alone enough to silence the room. He wore a calm expression, but those who could sense mana felt the overwhelming pressure radiating from him.

The chairman of the conference, an elderly yet sharp-eyed man, cleared his throat and spoke.

"Hunter Matt, the world has many questions regarding recent events. Your battle inside the S-rank Gate in Japan, the sudden disappearance of what some claim was a Monarch, and the existence of something beyond S-rank… Can you clarify what exactly is going on?"

Matt took a seat, crossing his legs before speaking into the mic.
