Marvel: Superman

Chapter 19: Chapter 18 Exponential Change

As the Dust cleared, people of the world saw Superman floating there, unharmed with a long red cape flowing in the winds, a dark blue suit with the "S" symbol on his chest symbolising Superman with white stripes seemingly tendrils attached to the "S" covering his chest.

David at this time was looking at the reward he had received from the National-level reputation mission and Continental-level mission.

[Congratulations on Completing the National-level mission, Reward: 10%]

[Congratulations on completing the Continental-level mission, Reward: 20%]

[Do you wish to Accept the National-level Reward?

Warning: Your strength will change in an exponential way] it ended off.

A warning was given to David.

"Hmm, interesting," David muttered.

He wondered what this meant for his strength.

It always was a question at the back of his mind.

He had the Post-Crisis Superman template whose full strength on rough estimate was several hundred sextillion tons of power.

How was it possible that 1% of it was simply 100 tons.

"What's interesting?" Venom asked but David ignored venom for a second.

"System, how often will these changes occur?" David questioned without speaking out loud.

[Every 10% your strength will go through a exponential change commander] The system finished off saying.

"Ah so what kind of strength can I expect with percentage in 10%" David asked.

[Every 1% in the 10% range will provide 1000 Tons]

He shut his eyes and expanded his hearing, focusing completely on trying to hear if anything might have launched those missiles at him, but he could not hear anything.

He wondered if he should Listen to the warning the system gave him.

If he ignored it and upgraded, his hearing would likely expand and he would most likely be able to pinpoint who ever was responsible for launching these missiles if they were physically dropped.

He did not know if it was something that launched these missiles over him or were they launched remotely from the countries military bases

And if so, which country.

"Venom, do you know what it was, that sent those missiles?" David asked.

Venom could sense heat signatures and sound waves and David was hoping these abilities of Venom were enhanced when he integrated with him.

The stronger the host is the stronger the symbiote.

That's why those symbiote madly fought for David's body.

"Yes, I see the heat signatures coming from above" Venom said as it looked through David's eyes turning his eyes completely white.

It's vision, being shared with David, who could now see a lot of red all around him.

But when David looked up into the sky, there were streaks of red instead of a large ball.

"Fly up" Venom said causing David to nod, his body instantly shooting up breaking multiple sound barriers.

The winds caused by David immediately cooling the atmosphere and causing the heat signatures to mostly vanish.

This would do a lot In keeping the ecosystem of the water mostly unaffected.

As he was flying away following the heat signature, David glanced at the ocean.

He felt regret that he wasn't able to enter the ocean.

He glanced at Namor who was staring at him from deep under the water.

David was not confident he would be able to fight at full power under water, he was worried that he might lose to Namor, who might see it as David invading Namor's territory.

Namor had a dislike for surface dwellers anyway so, he did not think Namor would allow him even if he knew the situation he was in.

He would also not be able to communicate with Namor.

As David flew away.

Most satilities were unable to completely capture David's body moving, but a genral location was being shown by many news stations.

Everybody wanted to know what David was going to do and almost nothing seemed to be able to peel their eyes away from the screens.

"Right!" Venom shouted as David arrived at a spot with a large heat signature from which several of those smaller heat signature were released from.

This large heat signature went right so that's why Venom told David to go right.

David flew at extremely high speeds.

Through the air, his eyes scanning everything in front of him as his brains quickly processed it all.

His hearing pushed to the max.

It was clear that it was something, that had launched these missiles.

A minute later, David saw a huge helicarrier in the distance.

Using his X-Ray Vision to see who were the attackers, David saw Brock Rumlow holding onto a gun, while several other people were quietly waiting with there guns.

A few dead bodies lying around which seemed to be Shield members.

David had understood that Hydra had decided to attack him.

"It's over" A man who had done so many calculations before to make sure Superman couldn't escape murmured when he saw David easily break multiple sound barriers.

His heart felt empty, devoid of anything.

"We didn't leave a scratch on him..." he continued as he dropped the loaded gun on the ground.

His hands too weak to even hold the gun properly.

His eye bubbling with tears as he regretted it all.

He could have done something with his life, but no, he was young and foolish and he joined Hydra.

But that very Hydra, that promised so much was the very thing that led to his death

"Fuck Hydra!" He muttered in anger.

Memories of his happy family that were blissfully unaware of who he actually ever was flashing past his eyes as he felt so much regret, right before a huge chunk of the Helicarrier's canter console was ripped open.

A huge gust of wind started pulling everybody within the console room.

The force so strong that it easily sucked them out of the large room.

David moved aside as he saw around 20 people Fly out, screaming at the top of there lungs.

Most of them were launched far outwards giving them no opportunity to grab onto to something, so they began they're freefall into the cold Arctic ice, from tens of thousands of meters.

A handful of them managed to get a hold of something, however frost bite climbing onto there bodies causing some of them to immediately let go.

David ignored the one's that still held on as he floated into the helicarrier and began visiting every room that contained people in it.

Hydra agents opened fire on him when they saw him, but their bullets didn't even penetrate his suit.

Like a god like being his eyes glowed as he lazered through these people like they were nothing.

Every room he visited, this process repeated until he finally reached the Directors room Brock Rumlow was in.
