Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Post-Crisis Superman

After a relaxing sleep at night not confined to a metal bed, David awakened to multiple notifications in his system.

"System" he called out as he lay on the bed.

[Community-level reputation: 10/10 [Complete at least one major event that shakes a small community].

[Congratulations you have Awakened Kryptonian Superman Template Function]

As it said that a new interface appeared.

[Mission]

[Template]

David clicked onto the [Template] option and the interface dissapered and got replaced with another interface with only one option [Awaken].

David clicked onto the [Awaken] option and a holographic wheel suddenly appeared infront of him.

His eyes glancing at the several entries on the wheel.

The more he looked, the more shocked he became.

There were 10 versions of Superman on the wheel.

2. Silver Age Superman

5.Earth-2 Superman (Kal-L)

[Explanation for the selected Superman template is avalible in a Auxilary chapter]

David could barely contain himself.

It was finaly here, all he had to do was spin the wheel.

Composing himself he spun the wheel with force.

The wheel spun as the templates passed by quickly, for a few seconds before it began to slow.

David's eyes were locked onto the Silver age Superman template, as it ticked closer to the selector his excitement grew.

Just as it was about to click for the final time to the Silver age Superman Template it stopped on Post-Crisis Superman.

David felt a slight sense of dissapointment that soon vanished.

The option he had got was still so extremely op that David did not even mind.

The wheel vanished and was replaced with the [Template] interface with updated information.

[Post-Crisis Superman: 0%]

[Unlock?]

"Yes! Unlock!" David almost screamed.

He watched as the [Unlock?] Question vanished and the unlock percentage changed for the Post-Crisis Superman template.

[Post-Crisis Superman: 1%]

It increased and immediately, David felt his entire body drastically begin changing.

He felt every cell in body was rapidly dying and being replaced with brand new kryptonian cells.

The pain David experienced was something like hundreads of thousands of miniscule balloons constantly bursting inside his body.

His muscles began tightening and his skin also began hardening as the new cells replaced the old.

The noise he was hearing suddenly increased to a 10km radius.

Everything in this range was heard by David.

From a fly buzzing, a bug crawling to the conversation of hundreds of people, all of it flowing into his ears at the same time.

All the sounds constantly flooded into his ears, his brain felt like it was constantly being scratched, his mind unable to process it.

The new cells at this time began moving to his head to repair his brain that was constantly being damaged.

His eyes began feeling increasingly hot as the solar energy contained already inside his new cells thanks to the 1% it began looking for a way out, it was like a hot wave about to burst out.

But he kept his eyes shut almost subconsciously as he barely had any conscious control over his body at this time.

His throat on the contrary felt completely cold making breathing an incredibly laborious task.

His occasional desperate gasp's for air let out chilling air, dropping the entire tempreture of room.

This lasted for few minutes before his cells stopped changing and the pain faded.

His whole body was numb but his mind had a little more control which he used to try and control the hot liquid bursting to explode outwards from his eyes.

It took a while, but his brain that was constantly being enhanced was finally strong enough for him to grasp control over the sounds he was hearing, he couldn't fully focus on controlling it yet so he shut off his hearing completely.

His mind then focused on controlling the laser beams from exploding out.

The heat was constantly increasing delivering a lot of pain to David but he persevered and after some time had passed.

David began to control the solar radiation trying to escape from his eyes.

Finnaly David could open his eyes.

As his vision gradually recovered he saw that the entire roof was covered in ice.

As a matter of fact, the more David glanced around he realized that the entire room was covered in a thin layer of ice.

Trying to get up, David put his hand on the mattres to support himself up.

But unexpectedly his entire hand went through the mattress and the bottom board with almost zero resistance.

Seeing this David couldn't help but gulp to himself.

He sat their for a bit, reluctant to do anything requiring force as he didnt have full control over his strength just yet.

Soon his breathing was becoming easier as he gained more control over his the intensity of his breath and regulated the force he breathing with.

Slowly with a little bit of breaking, David eventually began to gain basic control of his strength.

Allowing him to stand up carefully of the bed that was now full of holes with varying degrees of depth and walk towards the window with closed curtains.

Grasping the center, David slowly opened the curtains, the beams of sunlight shining through the glass onto David warming up his entire body.

His cells greedily sucking in the solar radiation of the sun rejuvenating David completely.

His entire mind feeling completely refreshed.

Throwing on a oversized t-shirt David left the hotel room as quietly as he could without being noticed.

He did not want to be held responsible for the damages that had happened to the room.

David made his way out of the town and as unnoticibly as he could he slipped out of town.

David wondered just how fast he was currently on feet so he began to run.

He started of slowly but gradually began increasing his pace.

He didn't know how fast he was going exactly but within 10 minutes he had already arrived at the abandoned barn.

David felt like the speed he had just gone at had barely scratched the surface of what he could accomplish.

Arriving at the old barn, David found everything to be exactly how he had left it.

The old hay was still there, the pod was still their, the black liquid that incubated him was still their.

Nothing had changed.

David had come here so that he could practise flying or atleast hovering freely.
