Chapter 13: Return
"It would be my honor sir" Leon replied with a slight bow as the smile on his face grew even brighter
"That's good, just tell me when you're ready and I'll create some space… make sure to make it grand and special" Edward said as he laughed.
Winston too joined in knowing that his friend already saw the boy as a business partner… for an art gallery owner, special artworks like the ones Leon made was a great boon.
They would advertise and push for it to be seen by as many people as possible so they could make more money.
"Thank you sir, I will do my best" Leon replied
"Please do, let's make some money together" Edward said as he led them outside
They all followed as they all gave the gallery a final look through Meanwhile Leon spent his time thinking of the best type of art he could that will maximize the effect of his paintings.
He had confirmed that it wasn't harmful but it's effects were significant so he needed something that draw as much attention as possible.
First was to confirm the type of art that was here and then draw something unique and different to completely highlight and make it different from the rest.
After a while, they were ready to leave as Edward bid them farewell. As soon as they entered the car, Leon immediately fell asleep.
Seeing this, Winston carefully carried him to the back of the car while Grace climbed to the front, happily
"So how was today, did you learn anything?" Winston asked, unexpectedly as the car pulled out of the parking lot
The car went down the road as Leon slept and the father and daughter spent their time discussing.
Several hours later they dropped Leon off at the orange as they began to their own journey back home.
Feeling that his dizziness and fatigue was gone, Leon immediately began to theorize about what happened
However there was no way of confirming it without creating another painting though considering his condition, Leon believed it was best to rest for now.
Without much hesitation, Leon went to inform the nun that he was back and headed straight for his room to sleep.
By now, he already guessed that whatever power he had, had something to do with his mental strength.
However the more he thought about it, the lesser it made sense. He had painted and made many drawings before this one, yet none of them had drained him so much.
In fact he hadn't felt any form of fatigue while drawing those hence Leon believed that it was either one of two things.
His powers were growing stronger or that for some reason, the effect generated from those paintings weren't as intense.
Edward's painting had made them feel as though they were on the battlefield with him. He smelled the grass, gunpowder in the air and could hear the galloping of horses.
These were things he never experienced in any painting so far.
"Wait, is it intent based?" Leon asked aloud as he jumped from. His bed.
This startled everyone in the room with him as they all turned to him as though looking at a mad man
"Okay that's it, tell us, what's wrong?" Richard said as he dropped the cards they were playing to sit next to him.
Sigh
Leon sighed and laid back down as though none of it had happened, lost in his thoughts. Truthfully this was the only thing he saw that he did different compared to other paintings.
He had pictured Edward in an actual battlefield before he drew such a painting. As for the rest, he just drew as he saw.. There wasn't much intent behind them.
"See who I'm talking to, what's wrong you chicken?" Richard said as he tried helping Leon sit up
"No, I'm okay… it's just… nah, never mind, I'll figure it out one day" Leon said before closing his eyes to sleep even if he knew it would never come.
