Mash-up Anime World: Creating the SCP Foundation to Contain Anomalies

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: The Genius Girl Who Handcrafted Anomalous Drugs

"Oyama Mihari, Oyama Mahiro; such beautiful names. I'll remember them."

Haruto nodded.

His serious compliment made both girls blush a little.

"Um… so what exactly did you want to ask us about?"

Mihari changed the subject. And Haruto's demeanor shifted drastically with his eyes becoming sharp.

"Oyama Mahiro-san… you weren't originally female, were you?"

No beating around the bush. Straight to the point.

This was Foundation territory.

And with his combat strength, there was no need for indirect intimidation. It was better to be direct and observe their reactions.

Mahiro: !!!

Mihari: !!!

Both were utterly shocked.

This was supposed to be a secret, known only to the two of them. Haruto carefully watched for any subtle reactions.

But all he saw was shock and confusion.

No signs of rage, impulsiveness, malice; nor did Mahiro's head suddenly transform into a monster or sprout tentacles from her back.

Haruto was now completely certain, these two were not a threat.

And the anomaly detected on his display… was likely the younger sister, Oyama Mahiro.

Or rather… the person who was currently a girl.

After their initial shock, the two girls reacted differently.

Mahiro's eyes had gone completely blank, spiraling like a mosquito coil; her brain had clearly overloaded.

Meanwhile, Mihari took a deep breath.

"May I ask… is there a problem with that? It doesn't seem to be a crime."

Haruto suddenly chuckled.

The sharp pressure in the air vanished instantly.

He waved his hand. "Of course not. This is just a routine inquiry. My approach was a bit harsh; force of habit, sorry about that."

Hearing this, the sisters both breathed a sigh of relief. Taking advantage of the moment, Haruto pressed on.

"May I ask what caused the change?"

Having just calmed down, the girls didn't overthink why the police would be curious about how someone became a girl.

"Actually… it was a drug I developed…"

Mihari said shyly.

Haruto raised an eyebrow.

A drug?

That was unexpected.

"May I take a look at the general information about the drug?" HAruto tentatively asked.

Mihari rummaged through her shoulder bag and pulled out a tablet and a bottle of pink liquid.

"This contains the drug's components, a brief description of its effects, and some experimental records."

Mihari looked a little nervous. After all, the drug she had developed was still in its clinical stage. It had only undergone live animal testing and had no authorization for human trials.

Regulations on drugs were quite strict.

Even if it was used on her own brother, she might still face punishment.

Haruto took the tablet and the drug bottle.

'Female Transformation Drug: Completely transforms the user's physical traits into those of a female.'

Looking at the drug's description on the tablet, along with its complex ingredients, Haruto couldn't help but be amazed.

He opened the experiment records at the back.

After skimming through the live animal experiments, Haruto found the only recorded human trial.

It was none other than Mahiro Oyama.

According to the information on the tablet, this Mahiro Oyama was originally Mihari Oyama's older brother.

A proper, biological male.

Though he was a bit of a shut-in, a bit useless, and a bit beyond saving.

He was undeniably male.

Haruto put down the tablet and looked at Mahiro again.

And the pink-haired girl in front of him…

Whether it was her physical features, mannerisms, or expressions,

Haruto couldn't find a single trace of masculinity. She was completely and utterly a cute girl.

Haruto let out a long breath.

All he could say was that this girl named Mihari was a true genius.

Perhaps even "genius" wasn't enough to describe her.

To create a drug classified as an anomaly using normal materials…

This kind of talent was simply unheard of.

The two girls looked at Haruto nervously, waiting for his response.

However, at that moment, Haruto stood up.

He clapped his hands.

"Alright, project containment is terminated!" Haruto announced loudly.

The two girls looked confused.

But in the next instant, the entire shop fell into complete silence.

All the "customers" in the dessert shop stood up at the same time and began walking toward the back kitchen in an orderly manner.

Their movements were disciplined, clearly well-trained.

Several employees behind the counter stood up and carefully stored their firearms inside the counter.

This scene left the two girls utterly shocked.

"W-Woah! Who are you? Are you some kind of secret organization leader like in manga!?"

Mahiro asked, her mouth agape in disbelief. Mihari also widened her eyes, completely at a loss.

Haruto sat back down, cleared his throat, and smiled.

"Apologies, but I lied earlier. However, it was a necessary precaution to determine whether you posed a threat. Let's introduce ourselves properly. My name is Takamine Haruto, Special Executive Officer of the SCP Foundation, designation O5-1."

The two girls were utterly dumbfounded.

Mahiro stammered for a long time before finally managing to say,

"Y-You're actually… from a secret organization!?"

Haruto nodded with a smile. Upon receiving confirmation, Mahiro's eyes sparkled with excitement. Meanwhile, Mihari looked more cautious, staring at Haruto warily as she asked,

"Then, what is your true purpose in bringing us here?"

Haruto waved his hand dismissively, signaling Mihari to remain calm.

"First, let me introduce the purpose and function of the SCP Foundation. We contain…"

Haruto proceeded to explain the general information about the Foundation to the two of them.

"In short, we are an organization dedicated to protecting humanity and combating anomalous threats."

Haruto summarized. The two girls still looked completely lost.

It was too high-level for them to comprehend!

If they hadn't just witnessed the scene in the dessert shop, they would have thought Haruto was crazy.

After finishing his explanation, Haruto shifted the topic, placing his finger on the drug bottle.

"This drug has already entered the realm of anomalies. Mihari Oyama, your scientific talent is truly extraordinary."
