Chapter 2599: 2599. Travel Ideas
It was interesting contemplating how much crafting he did now. Walker found that a lot of his time was eaten up by the crafting of new magical items or just general items needed for working on all of Genesis. When he had been looking at the future from his perspective he hadn't imagined he would need to be present in different crafting workshops so often.
The ship building and then the floating ship building made sense. He was part of that because he had unique forms of mana and manipulation skills to help ensure that both would go smoothly. The forging of his equipment and the others' equipment too made sense. Yet, the more he ended up in a workshop he wondered if he should just build a new workshop just for himself.
Arriving at one of the fire elemental workshops within the fire dragon territory, Walker was not surprised to see the blood flame ogres immediately begin to move around and try to set up shop. They were stuck here and there as they saw tools they had never used or seen before. That and they were amazed by some of the works left on pause due to other pressing matters.
"This is not an empty workshop. The staff who used to be here have moved to a larger workshop to focus on big projects. Everyone here is part of their personal works, so we will need to safely move things in to storage for them." This was just about being polite, but Walker could also tell that the three were very interested in what things might be or the goals of those crafting them.
When the wandering blacksmith arrived, Walker realized he had been literally carried here by Midnight while the other two would be alone shortly. The wandering blacksmith and Midnight had shared some silent moments while forging. While seemingly odd, they had a strange bond as two people who didn't like to speak as much. But not all friendships were easy and clear to understand.
The wandering blacksmith could clearly see the musculature of a fellow crafter and was attracted right to the tools and materials the three blood flame ogres possessed. The three also looked at him and seemed to catch the same feeling. They could sense that he was very powerful in the realm of crafting and deserved their full attention.
'Third Link: travelers' balance
Requirement:
Open travel to the elemental planes
Assist the wanderers in understanding the dangers of the world and the dangers of the elemental planes.
Increase the mapping of the world…'
Walker had wanted to help the wandering blacksmith get acclimated, however, he suddenly had the chain quest reminder appear. He was sure that he was already working on it since he had made some introductions with travelers. However, what he didn't start yet was the very first part of this link. Chapter source: My Virtual Library Empire (M|V|L4EMPYR).
He had yet to open travel to the elemental planes. Something that seemed easy and simple but was in no way close to that.
Opening travel to the elemental panes was a very dangerous notion. The people of the world might not be ready. They also didn't have the knowledge to safely move through. Was he just thinking this because he wanted them to be safe though? Was he not giving people enough credit?
Second guessing himself at this moment was not what he should be doing, but he couldn't help himself right this second. This was a weighty situation that could influence tall relationships with the elemental planes for the foreseeable future.
"Brother, stop." Midnight held Walker's arm and forcefully spoke in front of him. She didn't give him much room to move, just to fully stop his thought process and focus on her.
"Sorry Midnight, I keep thinking about the elemental planes and the wanderers. It's about time we start sending people to learn as well. There are a lot of chances for people to figure out what the elemental planes are like. I might have some ideas about how to do it too."
It wasn't that Walker didn't want to push ahead with the quest, but he was letting his worries stop him right now so he had to push ahead. The best way to do that would need to be through the choice of the best of the best. There was nothing less and nothing more.
"I am going to need some people with the right resistances and the right eloquence to visit the elemental planes as travelers from the world. That way they can learn and start building bonds without any of us being there to act as the intermediary."
Midnight seemed to understand what he was saying. She was sure she could find a few good dragons who had been helping her with the hatchlings who would like to travel. For them, it would be a major step in growth if they could absorb and learn about the elemental manas within the elemental planes. Plus, a few of the elder dragons she had been working with had the softest of hearts for children. A perfect mentality for learning about new races and building bonds.
Every race had children they might care for. The dragons were often more hard and serious, but Genesis allowed for them to show their true feelings. A few of the most potentially powerful beings like dragons showing care toward the youngest generations of future allies would be amazing. It would also be an excuse for Midnight to possibly go with them and adventure too. Not that she would say that to Walker at all.
"We need to choose a few people to begin traveling."
"Dragons!" Midnight pushed in to Walker again, this time with her thoughts as a focus.
"I was going to suggest some of the elder dragons making the largest differences lately. I also want to send one of the vampires and two of the demons I can recall making a big effort to learn about other races lately."
Midnight nodded a few times before she looked ready to rush out of the workshop and try to find the right people to handle the exploration.
"Before you run off, can you go visit the crafters working around the fire and earth territory lines? That bridge has a true sage waiting on you." Jan had just arrived with a few other crafters in tow. He looked like he was just glad to help pass on the information before he got in to another big project.
"Go. Handle it. I will work with them." The wandering blacksmith looked up, spoke and immediately got focused with the three blood flame ogres. They were already trying to show one another what they could craft and show off to one another. It would be some days before Walker would see some results since everyone involved might be too focused on the new forms of crafting.
That wasn't a bad thing though. A lot of chances for improvement and by the time he checked in Walker could learn something new as well.
Closing his eyes for a moment, Walker sensed the light mana flowing through the one and only bridge actually within the territories of Genesis. It was easier since it was closer to them but he wasn't at all surprised to see that a denser figure of light mana awaited him near the bridge.
"I feel like all of the true sages were given instructions to handle travelers. It might be quests but that's fine." Walker saw Midnight looking away. "If you want to go and find two elder dragons who can venture in to the light and then one to the dark elemental planes that would be helpful." She was off with eager excitement just with that simple ask from Walker.
Otherwise, Walker bid the crafters farewell before heading out. For him, getting to the bridge was like taking a few steps. He could move much faster than he used to be able to but also using spatial mana he could move greater distances in those faster steps.
Besides all this, he found that the true light sage was taking a fairly solid humanoid shape using the golem they had created. It appeared that the true light sage attempted to make the golem more comfortable of a shape and size for the races who might see them. A kind action.
"I am glad you came quickly. I have many matters to discuss with you in behalf of the light king." These words alone made Walker understand that this was neither a small nor a quick matter. He would need to focus on more than just travelers and opening travel now.
"Then I will give it my full attention. I have matters to speak with you about as well." Walker made it clear he had some concerns as well.
