Chapter 5: Chapter 5: The World Within

The early morning light seeped through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the small bedroom. The soft murmurs of birds filled the air, blending with the distant rustling of leaves.

Kal lay comfortably in the crib, his infant body still and relaxed. But inside, his mind was sharp, fully aware. As he moved his tiny fingers, something cold brushed against his skin.

A ring.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

It was on his finger.

The artifact the old man had given him. He hadn't noticed it before—maybe because he had been too preoccupied adjusting to his new life.

Curious, he focused on it.

The moment the thought crossed his mind, space itself twisted around him.

A pull. A shift.

Then—he was gone

---

The sky above was vast and endless, painted in hues of gold and violet. Soft clouds drifted lazily across the horizon, their edges shimmering under the gentle sunlight. The air was crisp and pure, filled with the scent of fresh earth and blooming flora.

Kal stood in the middle of a dense jungle, but it was unlike any jungle on Earth.

Towering trees stretched endlessly, their leaves glowing faintly, pulsing with life. Rivers of crystal-clear water snaked through the land, reflecting the sky like a perfect mirror. Birds, animals—every known species, from Earth and beyond—roamed freely.

This was paradise.

But there were no humans.

No civilization. No history.

Just raw, untouched nature.

Kal exhaled, the weight of what he was seeing settling in.

This was his universe.

The one given to him by the old man.

His personal domain.

For now, it only contained one planet, but he could tell—it would grow. As his power awakened, more planets, more worlds, would emerge.

His lips curled slightly.

This would one day be his kingdom.

---

Kal flexed his fingers. His divine abilities should have been at their strongest here. After all, this was his world.

He clenched his fist, willing his power to manifest.

Nothing.

His brow furrowed. Again, he focused, trying to draw out the godly energy sealed within him.

Nothing.

Tch.

He had expected this, but still, the confirmation was annoying.

His divine abilities—the power to shape reality, to command existence itself—were locked until he turned 18.

But then, something else clicked in his mind.

What about his multiversal travel?

The old man had never explicitly said it would unlock at 18.

Kal closed his eyes, reaching deep within himself, searching for any trace of it.

Faint. Weak.

But there.

A smirk touched his lips.

His multiversal ability was different from his divine power. It wasn't fully awakened, but he could feel it stirring, like an ember waiting to ignite.

If he pushed himself… he might be able to use it as early as 15.

That was good to know.

---

He was still contemplating his discoveries when a voice pulled him back.

"Kal?"

The voice was soft, warm—motherly.

Martha.

His surroundings shifted in an instant.

The sky, the jungle, the rivers—all faded.

And just like that, he was back in his crib, staring up at the ceiling.

Martha's footsteps approached, her presence filling the room with gentle warmth.

Kal let out a small breath.

His new life was just beginning.
