MHA: A Villain's Leading Wish

Chapter 20: Hero Training

Looking at the building in front of him, all he could think was about how late he was.

There stood the mighty U.A, Shinji stepped inside before going to his classroom.

Opening the door, everyone placed their eyes on him.

Present Mic, who was the teacher at the moment, scolded him and told him to sit.

He did so without uttering a word of complaint.

The class resumed as normal and all Shinji could think of was what happened earlier that day.

After receiving confirmation from the girl that she wanted to stay with them, Shinji remembered the time and headed to school after taking a quick shower.

Before leaving, his sister told him that she was going to report this incident and gain custody of the child.

He told her sister all his knowledge regarding the girl and headed out to school.

Having been lost in his thoughts, what snapped him out of them was a hand that was placed on his shoulder.

"Why are you there looking at nothing? Let's go eat."

Shinji looked up from where he was sitting.

Hearing the familiar voice, he wasn't surprised when he saw Momo.

"Sorry for that, I was lost in thought," after saying this, Shinji stood up and walked with Momo to the school cafeteria.

They both grabbed food before sitting on a table where Momo started questioning him.

"Why were you late to class? I didn't know you were the lazy type of person."

Twitching an eyebrow, Shinji responded, "It's not that, I just had some things to take care of at home."

"If it truly is that important then it's fine."

Silence, though Shinji wanted money from this girl, he also enjoyed talking with her.

Now that they were alone, he didn't know what to say.

'What do you talk about with a girl?'

Never being in this position before, he was lost.

There was no nervousness, only confusion.

"So Shinji, what's your quirk about? It seemed different to what I saw when we first met."

"Hmm, how can I explain, it's kind of a transformation quirk."

"Kind of… what do you mean by that?" Momo crossed her arms and paid more attention to what was being said.

"It fits into more categories than one."

"I see, so your quirk lets you transform into an animal?"

Shinji looked at the ceiling for a brief moment before looking back at Momo.

"You could say so."

"Why so much mystery Aoto? If you don't want to talk about it then it's fine."

"Oh, I have to tell you something, just don't get mad."

Momo raised an eyebrow and waited for his following words.

"My name is not actually Aoto, it's Shinji."

She didn't look surprised at all.

"I know, Mr. Aizawa said your name in the training grounds. Why did you lie though?"

Shinji felt stupid for saying that now. Recollecting his thoughts, he answered.

"I completely forgot about that, it's just that I don't trust strangers that easily."

He wouldn't commit the same mistake thrice. He'd decided to be truthful and reveal everything step by step.

"It's fine, we are classmates now and may be work partners in the future. That's why I ask you to please be sincere."

"Alright."

They both ate and talked until it was time for the next class.

Everyone sat and waited until the door leading to the classroom was opened.

It was All Might that came in doing a dramatic entrance.

After introducing himself, he explained that they were going to do combat training.

The students headed out after grabbing their new hero costumes.

Everyone changed, and when Shinji saw their costumes, he was impressed.

'They look kind of cool,' he thought to himself.

His attention was then grabbed by Midoriya, his green hero costume looked very professional and apt for battle.

It was a durable and flexible piece of clothing that matched his style.

Looking more closely at him, he could see the lack of resemblance to All Might.

'I can't blame him, after what happened a couple years ago I would be like that too.'

Shinji's attention was then grabbed by his own costume.

It was black and grey in color, long, dark pants and a jacket with a hoodie that could turn into a mask with some resemblance to his quirk.

He could imagine the faces of civilians being rescued by him feeling terrified.

He should look like a hero, but it was the opposite for him.

After everyone arrived, All Might began explaining what they were going to do.

They would split into groups, one being the villain, and the other being the hero.

The heroes would have to deactivate a bomb while the villains had to protect it.

'Simple enough,' Shinji thought.

The groups were decided via sorting, when Shinji saw his group members he frowned.

He would be teaming up with Midoriya and battling against Bakugo and Momo.

'I really don't think this is a coincidence.'
