Chapter 63: Chapter 063: Training Begins
"Of course it's true. If it weren't for him during the USJ incident, I really can't imagine what would have happened," Yaoyorozu Momo said, recalling the USJ event. Even now, her back still feels cold.
"Yeah... yeah..."
Sekigai Kashiko nodded her head, continuing, "What's his name?"
"Ezaki Kitazawa," Uraraka Ochako answered.
"Ezaki... Kitazawa?"
Sekigai Kashiko found the name unfamiliar. On her way here, she had seen a list from her homeroom teacher, which had the information of everyone from class 1-A. But the name that stood out the most was Todoroki Shoto.
"Have you heard of him?" Yaoyorozu Momo asked.
Sekigai Kashiko smiled slightly and then shook her head. "No, but now I'm a bit curious. I want to see this mysterious person who is said to be even better than Endeavor's son."
After a while, everyone gathered at the entrance of the training ground.
"Alright, everyone's here. Today, in addition to me, there's someone else who will be leading you in basic hero training," Aizawa Shouta said calmly.
As soon as he finished speaking, a figure descended from the sky, followed by a loud "I'm here!" and then a boom as he landed on the ground. Clearly, it was All Might.
When the students of Yuuei saw All Might appear, they all looked at him with envy.
"It's really him!"
"All Might really is impressive, what strong charisma," one of the students said.
"I really envy U.A.!" another added.
All Might interrupted their conversation and smiled. "Alright, everyone, quiet down. This time's hero training topic is a survival challenge, and everyone must participate."
"Let me explain the situation. The students will be divided into groups of four, making a total of six teams, and each team will start training from any location we assign."
"The goal of this training is simple: survive. Whether you form alliances or fight against each other, the team that survives until the end wins."
As soon as All Might finished speaking, everyone in Class 1-A had stiffened, and they all turned to look at Ezaki.
"Only one team wins?"
"Doesn't that mean the answer is already decided before it even starts?" Kaminari Denki frowned.
"This is too hard. Is this a pre-determined result?" Mineta groaned.
"Everyone, don't be discouraged!" Iida Tenya encouraged his classmates.
"Iida-kun, this isn't about being discouraged," Yaoyorozu Momo sighed. "It's about the fact that whoever is on Ezaki's team will win."
Ezaki forced a smile. "Please, don't think too highly of me."
The others gave him an exasperated look.
"Alright, I've explained the rules. When you fight another team, just tie a confirmation tape on them, and if the opponent is no longer able to fight, you're good to go," Aizawa Shouta explained, holding up a bundle of tape.
"Now, let's get to the group assignments," All Might said, then started calling out names.
Ezaki was placed in Group B, with his teammates being Jiro Kyoka, Mineta, and Kaminari Denki. As for Todoroki Shoto, Bakugo Katsuki, and Midoriya Izuku, they were each placed in their own teams.
"All teams, head to your designated locations and wait. The training will start five minutes after you hear the signal," Aizawa Shouta instructed.
"Understood!"
The students said in unison and quickly rushed out the door, heading toward their assigned locations.
Ezaki Kitazawa had barely started running when he heard a soft voice behind him.
"Excuse me, Ezaki-kun?"
He turned around and saw that it was Sekigai Kashiko from Courageous Academy. He paused for a moment, feeling a bit curious.
"Yes, that's me. What's up?"
"My name is Sekigai Kashiko," the other person introduced again.
"I know. You already introduced yourself in the classroom," Ezaki Kitazawa replied casually.
"Looking forward to working with you in the training!"
Sekigai Kashiko said, then turned and walked off to join his teammates.
Ezaki was a little confused but didn't think too much about it. He quickened his pace and caught up with his own team.
"What were you doing just now?" Fujimi Romero asked curiously.
Sekigai Kashiko smiled. "I heard some U.A. students say that Ezaki Kitazawa's strength is the highest in their class, so I just went over to say hello."
"Huh? Didn't the teacher say the one we need to watch out for is Endeavor's son, the one called 'Fuyuki' or something?" Fujimi Romero asked in confusion.
"He's not called Fuyuki, his name is Todoroki Shoto," Mongoose Habuko explained.
"Yeah, it's pretty much the same thing, but U.A. students are so annoying. I'm glad our teacher told us in advance, or we might've really been tricked by them," Fujimi Romero said, pouting.
"I don't think they were trying to trick us. I think they're serious," Sekigai Kashiko said in a low voice.
"I just heard them talking over there. It seems they're discussing that whoever is on the same team as Ezaki Kitazawa, that team will win," Mongoose Habuko said calmly.
Fujimi Romero scoffed, then sneered, "Mongoose, trust me, this is just U.A.'s way of trying to mislead us. We just need to listen to what our own teacher says. While we have the chance, we need to show U.A. who's boss."
The other three looked at Fujimi Romero in silence and sighed.
"Whether it's true or not, we should hide quickly. U.A. has a lot of people, and if they team up against us, it won't be good," Sekigai Kashiko said.
What Sekigai Kashiko said made sense, since they were outsiders, and if U.A. worked together to fight against them, the result was obvious—
it would probably end before it even started.
