MHA:A New Ending

Chapter 20: The Sport Festival [2]

Here's an edit incorporating the previous suggestions, focusing on tightening the prose, enhancing clarity, and adding a touch more sensory detail and internal reflection where appropriate.

It didn't take long for an ambulance to arrive. Before they could see me, I left. Ingenium didn't say much after our conversation, by my suggestion; he was still in danger, so conserving energy was the better option.

I stood on the roof of a nearby building, having repaired my mask. I looked at the city in silence, checking my clock. The second round of the Sports Festival was probably over, but if I was correct, "he" was going to come and see me.

"What an interesting man you are."

Kurogiri's voice was heard behind me, just as I expected. I turned quickly, shooting a bullet at the feet of the purple cloud, destroying the concrete in front of him.

"Who are you?"

"You are Karma, the Ghost of Mustafu, right? We might have something to offer you. Your actions have piqued our interest. Come with me."

I said nothing else as I walked to the portal. Crossing it made my body a little uncomfortable, but I couldn't help but smile. Everything was going according to plan.

I was received by a luxurious bar, and Tomura Shigaraki sat to the side of a computer, where, presumably, All For One was watching.

"What a comfortable view. Did you invite me for a drink?"

"Karma, is that your real name?" Shigaraki ignored my tease. I could see his eye looking at me from behind the hand he used to cover his face; he looked somewhat angry, probably because he had already fought Stain by this point.

"It's the name you need to know. Why did someone like you call me?"

"We are making you a proposal, but I don't quite understand the reasons behind your actions. They seemed contradictory."

Gotcha.

"First, you act like a Vigilante, helping the police to catch villains without saying a word. Then you became violent and started killing important people. And then you attacked Stain, defending a hero even if you've fought them before. Why?"

"Shigaraki, what do you think about our society?" I asked, deftly avoiding the first question. I could tell he smiled behind that mask, his tone changing, making him sound even more dangerous.

"I want to destroy it. The Symbol of Peace and everyone that collides with that ideology is going to fear me. This is only the start! I'm going to take down every hero that opposes me!, I Want To Kill All Might"

He started his monologue with a little exaltation but ended up almost screaming. All For One said nothing; he was probably only listening, I laugh a little, moving my hand as I exhale before speaking

"This society needs to be rebuilt. The corruption of the hero world, driven by greed and money—I want to destroy it, before this path of autodestruction drives this world down. No more heroes, no more villains, only people."

"Then why did you save the hero named Ingenium?" Kurogiri asked sharply, pretending to be a bartender cleaning a cup.

"Because death is the last end I need to take. A movement that sheds blood becomes doctrine. Stain's ideology is not a good one to follow. His words are true, there are no more heroes left, but his actions destroy the movement itself. I kill those who have already sinned beyond repair. That's my name, the retaliation of free will: Karma."

Shigaraki listened in silence. After some seconds, he stood up and scratched his neck.

"We don't aim for the same goal, that is true, but we can work together. You, unlike the others, seem to be a little less insane. What do you think?"

"It will be a pleasure. I'm sure we'll get to a common place. After all, I hope to have enough time to know you better."

After that, we discussed how and when they were going to contact me. Then I was left on the same roof in Hosu. Looking around, I took my phone out again to text Karma.

"Eating rn."

He responded. That guy, was he seriously imitating my way of texting? That meant the last round was about to start, so I didn't have much time left to do the change.

"Huff.... This is going to be the third time. Goddamnit."

"CLAP!"

The pain struck again. The sound of wind was replaced by a noisy crowd, full of whispers. I grabbed my head in pain as the migraine started.

"Are you alright, Akuma?!"

Deku's voice interrupted my suffering. I looked at him, only his silhouette visible to me. He tried to do something, but I quickly stopped him.

"Sorry, sorry, my quirk does this sometimes."

"Oh! You started speaking again!" Jiro's voice also made its presence known. She looked at me, and as our eyes met, she had a slight blush and looked away.

That's weird. Oh, she was dressed in that cheerleader costume. How cute. But anyhow, the list of contenders for the next round was quickly announced.

"WITH 16 CONTESTANTS LEFT, THE LAST ROUND IS GOING TO BE A 4-STAGE TOURNAMENT, DECIDED BY 1V1 FIGHTS!"

As Ojiro made a speech about how he didn't want to participate in the next round because of Shinso, I started wondering how well we did in the second round. So I looked at my phone and started searching the internet for clips of the Cavalry Battle, finding some easily.

Karma was transported into Akuma's body in an instant. To him, the change of mind didn't hurt that much; it was just a little discomfort in his head, but nothing more. After a little adjusting his eyes, he followed his master's instructions.

He got closer to the purple-haired guy and gave him the note his master had hidden inside his body. The note said:

"I know how your Quirk works. Let's work together and win this. Let me be the rider and show you we can team up."

At first, Shinso seemed hesitant, considering the classroom event and the speech Akuma gave before the Festival started. But realizing the smile on Akuma's face was sincere, he gave up and accepted, only using Ojiro and Aoyama as controlled support, with him being the third pillar for Akuma to climb on.

Then, Michael Bianco watched in horror as Karma used his body and quirk not only to defend his band of points but to flirt with every female he had the chance to.

Using his body modification, he grabbed other headbands with ease at insane distances, capable of deploying multiple extra limbs in the form of tentacles. His defense was almost impenetrable. While the others focused on attacking Deku, Karma's group moved and isolated the smaller enemies.

The problem was that he didn't do it like a normal person. To Bianco's inner pain, he saw his body used in such a shameless way, his non-existent stomach twitched from the cringe.

The first victim of Karma was none other than Kendo, leading her team in a more defensive way. He didn't hesitate to rush at her, throwing a tentacle that ended up disassembling in Kendo's face, making a mask of string around her face, making it impossible for her to see.

He jumped from his team, leaving a tentacle in place to support himself as Karma threw the same masks to the rest of Kendo's team, making the evasion of his landing impossible to avoid. He used the head of one of the guys to land as he took off Kendo's mask. She tried to react, but the surprise of seeing Akuma so close to her, to the point of touching noses and hearing each other breathe, made her flinch and blush.

"Eek!" she said, almost falling as Akuma smiled before retreating with the headband to his team and going in another direction without saying a word. Inside the real Akuma, seeing this was like a bullet directly into his brain. He covered his face with his hand as the video kept reproducing.

"Where the fuck did he learn that?"

"Did you say something, Akuma?"

"Ah... no... sorry, Izuku."

The video continued; the battle was a very interesting one. Karma really was showing off, defeating Monoma and Mineta rather easily.

With only a few minutes left, he changed directions to the Hagakure team. The approach was rather the same. They stared at each other before the invisible girl decided to avoid the fight. To her disgrace, Karma didn't hesitate to throw a net to trap Jiro's leg, almost making the whole team trip.

They rushed as the girl desperately tried to free her trapped leg. The team surrounded them, just as a lion surrounds its prey. Karma shot a thread to grab the headband, but Hagakure avoided it a few times. With not much time left, Karma decided once again to do the same trick, jumping into the enemies. He deployed his tentacles to make them fearful. It worked, making them even messier.

He landed on Sato's round shoulder, trying to grab Hagakure by her clothes, but to his surprise, he only touched naked skin. Karma quickly took back his hand, clearly surprised, only grabbing the headband as Toru

screamed, "AKUMA! NOT COOL!" while she hugged herself

"What did you do?!!" Jiro asked instantly, looking above her to see Akuma jumping away, scratching his head with a complicated look on his face.

After that, the rest of the match was just Karma winking at different girls, Yaoyoruzu, Mina, Jiro, they all looked confused by the sudden change his classmates made

With his head empty, Akuma couldn't believe it. The video stopped after the timer ended, just before Karma and Bakugo entered a fight. He silently put the phone inside his body again and looked at the sky.

"My reputation.....it's gone....."

A little tear was shed while Akuma fell onto his knees dramatically, making Deku worry

While he was praying for this moment to be forgotten like it never happened, the TV showed the first round of the last stage in this festival.

Slightly different, but it ended up being the same thing. So I am going against Denki? It should be an easy round, to be honest.

They gave us time to rest and go wherever we want. So I left to hide in the trees and light one of the cigarettes I had inside of me. It isn't an addiction, I promised, it just helped me focus.

Hmm, my chances of winning aren't zero. Bakugo is going to be a problem, but I am sure it is going to be an easy task after he went against Uraraka. Now the difficult part is how to manage my life, considering I need to be in two places at the same time now that the League is going to start acting and UA is about to send us to train with real heroes....

Well, I spent my last life being overworked to almost die during exam periods, so I guess you could say it was the same.

I puffed the smoke out of my mouth, smelling it as I closed my eyes. This brought me home, to be honest. In the silence of the woods, the sound of a tree leaf could be heard from a distance. I quickly crushed the cigar and redid my clothes and body with new threads to avoid smelling weird.

"Akuma? Oh, there you are. What are you doing here?"

The one to ask me that was Denki, who was smiling, but with a little doubt in his face. I noticed it immediately and said, "Do you want to ask me something?"

"No, I want you to hear me. Listen, I'm not going to hold back against you, do you hear me? I'm not letting you win so easily."

I walked towards him. He took a step back but suddenly stopped. We locked eyes, and I stood in a face-off with him. He really was determined, looking at me from below, his eyes showing a strong will to fight.

"Heh, fine then, Denki. Don't expect me to hold back either."

"Please! Go all out!"

I smiled, and he did too. We laughed in silence as we walked back to the stadium.

"Did you see the girls in their cheerleader outfits? Didn't they look cute?"

"...."
