Miracle Summoner

Chapter 1916: -1875- Take down the fortress

According to the intelligence gathered by the Mountain People, Hassan, who had been captured by the Knights of the Holy Land, is currently imprisoned in a fortress within the Round Table Stronghold, located near the mountainous region of the Holy Land's territory.

The underground of that fortress is specifically designed to detain prisoners who are either deemed useful or cannot yet be executed. Numerous soldiers deployed by the Holy City guard the area.

It is said that Agravain frequently interrogates prisoners there. When the Knights of the Round Table want to search the mountainous region for traces of the Mountain People, this fortress serves as their base of operations. Additionally, it is a supply point for the Knights of the Round Table and a stronghold against the Mountain People.

As Artoria [Alter] bluntly put it, she had long been displeased with that place.

"We will go and rescue Hassan, who is imprisoned there. If there are any other prisoners of value, we will recruit them into the army of the Mountain People and make them our own," declared Artoria [Alter] in a voice full of regal authority.

Of course, this King of Knights, who had become a tyrant in her reversed state, had no intention of using subtle means to achieve this goal.

"Tomorrow, we will march out, take down that stronghold, and flatten the Round Table fortress," she declared mercilessly.

"With your help, capturing the place shouldn't be a problem," she added.

The Round Table fortress has no Knights of the Round Table stationed there permanently. Those who remain are ordinary soldiers, and sometimes even the Knights of the Holy City don't make an appearance. While the defenses are tight, they are insignificant to a Servant.

Previously, the Mountain People had not attacked the stronghold for two main reasons: their limited forces, which couldn't be wasted on attacking such outposts, and the sporadic appearances of the Knights of the Round Table, making it impossible to launch a sudden strike.

But now, with Artoria [Alter] having formed a temporary contract with Rozen, her Spirit Origin had undergone ascension, and her power had surged. Even facing the Knights of the Round Table was no longer something to fear.

As for the concern of troop losses…

"With your ability to summon dragonkind—and summon an entire swarm of them at that—even this so-called lack of manpower can be easily resolved by you alone," Artoria [Alter] remarked to Rozen, who could only shrug in response.

In the past, considering the cost of resources, Rozen would have avoided using such forceful means to attack a border fortress. But now, with his near-infinite supply of mana that continued to grow, and his astonishing mana regeneration speed, even if he expended all of his mana, he could recover fully in a single night. If he used certain methods to accelerate recovery, it would only take a matter of minutes.

Of course, with Rozen's current mana reserves, it was virtually impossible to deplete them.

To put it bluntly, Rozen's mana is now at a planetary scale. The combined mana from the planet's ley lines, spiritual veins, and dragon veins would only just about equal his reserves. Draining mana at this level would require a catastrophe capable of exhausting the planet's magical foundation.

Because of this, Rozen had declared that even if he had to enter a Singularity alone without Mash by his side, it wouldn't matter. He alone was equivalent to an endless army, an unstoppable force.

Back when Rozen was still a novice Master, he had imagined that if he ever gained a sufficient mana supply—like that of a Holy Grail—he could overwhelm anything purely through the sheer quantity of his familiars.

Now, Rozen had achieved that vision. Combined with his complete mastery of summoning magic, he could summon an army large enough to cover the land and crush everything in his path, should he disregard the consequences.

Manpower? That was something Rozen alone could replace entirely. Even an army of millions could be conjured in an instant.

As for combat strength, having Rozen on their side was more than enough.

With all this in mind, there was no need for a sneaky infiltration to rescue the prisoners in the fortress's underground cells. The straightforward solution was to storm the fortress, defeat its defenders, and tear it down—a simple and direct plan.

And this method, naturally, was Artoria [Alter]'s favorite approach. Once Rozen gave his approval, she immediately finalized the plan.

"My King, in that case, I—" Bedivere seemed eager to volunteer for the battlefield.

However, Artoria [Alter] rejected him without hesitation.

"Your opportunities to fight are limited. If you don't want to perish before achieving your goal, stay here, hold your ground, and wait for our return," she commanded bluntly.

"...Understood," Bedivere reluctantly accepted her command, lowering his head despite his frustration and regret.

Afterward, everyone dispersed.

---

The City of the Mountain.

This was the name Artoria [Alter] bestowed upon the settlement after witnessing its rebirth and transformation.

"From now on, this will be the city of the Mountain People. All Mountain People scattered across the land will gather here, and refugees will also find acceptance. Here, they will live a new life."

According to Artoria [Alter], the Holy Land had its Holy City, and the desert had its Temple. Therefore, the mountainous region would have its City of the Mountain.

From this day forward, it would be the last refuge for humanity in this era.

As for the Holy City, it was not included in this vision.

The Holy City, with its exclusionary policies, was no paradise but rather the gateway to hell for most. Only this City of the Mountain could be the true hope for humanity's survival and prosperity.

Thanks to Rozen's efforts, this settlement had been transformed into a functioning city of considerable size.

Amidst this, Rozen and Mash emerged from the king's palace.

"Divine Envoy!"

"Divine Envoy!"

"Ahh! The Divine Envoy!"

Everywhere they went, Mountain People and refugees alike stopped what they were doing, whether laughing or working, to kneel before Rozen in reverence, offering heartfelt prayers.

"This..." Rozen could only smile wryly.

To be honest, even he felt awkward about this.

He was used to being admired and idolized, but being treated like a deity, prayed to, and worshipped was something else entirely.

Mash, however, found this quite delightful.

"Senpai saved them and gave them a new life. It's only natural for them to feel this way," she said earnestly.

"The problem is they're not just grateful—they're actually praying to me!" Rozen sighed, helpless.

Mash, however, seemed to give the idea serious thought.

"Perhaps I should start treating Senpai the same way they do?" she mused.

"...Please don't. I'm begging you," Rozen replied.

The two continued their banter as they made their way up a hill.

From there, they could overlook the Holy Land.

Rozen had come to confirm the location of the Round Table fortress.

However, before he arrived, someone was already there.

"Sir Bedivere?" Mash exclaimed in surprise.

Indeed, the one present was none other than Bedivere.
