Miracle Summoner

Chapter 1970: -1929- The severe casualties

Rozen might not know Ozymandias' thoughts, but even if he had to guess, he could easily deduce them.

Not to mention that he now had the assistance of Thought Acceleration and Thought Partitioning, even in his previous state, Rozen could still predict Ozymandias' intentions.

It was foreseeable that the Sun King had no intention of interfering in this war.

After all, Lion King and Artoria [Alter] were like fire and water, with a deep and inescapable connection between them. From the moment the two appeared in this Singularity, their fates were intertwined. They were bound to settle the dispute over the name King Arthur, leaving no room for Ozymandias to intervene.

Furthermore, with insufficient leverage in hand, as a prominent politician and military strategist, Ozymandias would never rashly get involved. Until he gathered all seven super weapons, he would refrain from making a move. If the Lion King's holy spear, Rhongomyniad, was fully prepared, he would choose to retreat rather than confront her head-on.

Thus, this war was destined to be a battle between King Arthur and King Arthur, a conflict between the Round Table and the Round Table.

As Rozen had said, Ozymandias only needed to be a proper observer, and he was fully aware of this.

With this in mind, Rozen led Mash and the Mountain People back to the mountains without stopping.

By the time Rozen and his group arrived at the Mountain City, conflicts in other directions had also come to an end.

Jeanne [Alter], leading her dragon horde, stormed into the Holy Land Territory, incinerating every enemy in sight. With a wave of her Cursed Flag, the flames of vengeance and hatred spread across the land, while her dragon minions unleashed scorching breath attacks, reducing the wilderness to a sea of fire.

The Holy Land Territory, already scorched by the Burning of Human Order, was now almost completely engulfed in flames. Except for the vicinity of the Holy City, the rest of the land was swallowed by fire, turning the entire Holy Land into a burning mountain. This alone was enough to show how reckless and domineering Jeanne [Alter] was.

Like she was venting all her pent-up emotions and anger from being captured by the Holy Knights, she went on a mad rampage, causing chaos in the Holy City.

Fortunately, Jeanne [Alter] had enough sense not to directly attack the Holy City. Instead, she rampaged through the wilderness, mercilessly slaughtering every Holy Knight in her path. In the process, she successfully found the Mountain People who had fled into the Holy Land Territory.

Unfortunately, these Mountain People were far less fortunate than those who had fled into the Desert Region.

Thanks to Ozymandias' protection, the Mountain People who escaped into the desert suffered minimal losses. However, those who fled into the Holy Land faced relentless pursuit from the Holy Knights, suffering countless casualties.

By the time Jeanne [Alter] found them, they were barely clinging to life. Less than half of them had survived.

Yet, under the persuasion of Hassan of Serenity, these survivors set aside their sorrow and, carried by Jeanne [Alter]'s dragon horde, began their journey back to the Mountain City.

It is worth mentioning that, during this process, Jeanne [Alter] also encountered a group of Holy Knights retreating from the Mountain Region.

While Rozen and Jeanne [Alter] were searching for the lost Mountain People in the Desert Region and the Holy Land Territory, Artoria [Alter] was engaged in direct combat against the Holy Knight Army led by Agravain.

With the support of a hundred thousand Monstrous Troops, and with Agravain—as expected—not personally stepping onto the battlefield but instead giving orders from the shadows, Artoria [Alter] was able to use her knowledge of Agravain and her own overwhelming strength to tear through the Holy Knights, slaughtering them to the brink of collapse.

However, what Artoria [Alter] did not anticipate was that this outcome had also been planned by Agravain.

While Artoria [Alter] was battling the Holy Knight Army, Agravain had secretly dispatched a unit to infiltrate the Mountain Region in an all-out hunt.

It turned out that Agravain's true objective was not merely to chase away the escaping Mountain People—he intended to exterminate them all.

He had anticipated that upon learning of his attack, Artoria [Alter] would personally lead her troops into battle, leaving the Mountain City defenseless.

Agravain sought to use this opportunity to lure her away, while his secret unit infiltrated the Mountain Region, discovered the Mountain People's stronghold, and wiped them out completely.

This was a devious and quintessential Agravain-style scheme.

To achieve this, he had deliberately allowed some Mountain People to escape toward the Holy Land Territory and the Desert Region, ensuring that Rozen and his allies would be drawn away to rescue them, leaving their base unguarded.

In other words, the current situation was entirely orchestrated by Agravain.

However, he had miscalculated.

Because he was never even able to find the Mountain City's location.

Rozen had long since concealed the Mountain City with numerous magic wards, distorting the surrounding space itself. Outsiders had no way of discovering its location.

Even if the Mountain City had been found, it was not without defenses. Rozen had left behind a golem army numbering in the tens of thousands, whereas Agravain's infiltrating force only had a few thousand soldiers. Not only did they fail to threaten the Mountain City, but they were instead annihilated.

Thanks to this, as the enemy forces approached the Mountain City without locating it, Bedivere detected the anomaly. The Golem Army surged forth from the Mountain City, catching the Holy Knights off guard.

Thus, the Holy Knight Unit in the Mountain Region was completely wiped out.

Meanwhile, the main Holy Knight Army, under the combined assault of Artoria [Alter] and the Hundred Thousand Monster Troops, was utterly obliterated, leaving not even ashes behind.

Sensing the tide turning against him, Agravain led his remaining Holy Knights in retreat—only to run straight into Jeanne [Alter]'s Dragon Horde.

There, they were once again engulfed in flames and dragon breath, barely escaping total annihilation.

In the end, Agravain managed to flee back to the Holy City with only a handful of surviving Holy Knights.

Rozen and his allies had achieved a decisive victory, successfully regrouping at the Mountain City.

At last, all the Mountain People had gathered in the Mountain City, finding sanctuary at last.

However, this time, their side had not emerged unscathed.

The Lion King's Judgment had resulted in the deaths of two Hassan and many Mountain People.

During their journey to the Mountain City, some had also fallen to beasts and magical creatures, while others were massacred by Holy Knights in the Holy Land Territory. The casualties were severe.

Faced with this, Artoria [Alter] made a decisive announcement:

"It is time to declare war on the Lion King!"

That was the final conclusion.
