Mobile Suit Wars: Starting with Gundam OO

Chapter 34: Chapter 34: The Power of Collective Effort in Rescue

"Ugh… ah… this… feeling is… ah…"

Just as everyone arrived at the space station, preparing to receive the Gundams returning to the Ptolemaios, Allelujah suddenly collapsed to his knees, holding his head in pain.

"Allelujah! What's wrong?" The others hurriedly gathered around him, only to find that it wasn't just Allelujah. Even Tieria and Myer were each holding their foreheads, their expressions pained.

"What's happening to you?" Huang asked with concern.

"Brain quantum waves…"

"What?"

"There's an unfamiliar brainwave nearby, and… it's aggressively strong!" Myer answered, struggling. This was the first time he encountered such a situation. Even when the Innovator state was turned off, an Innovator could still sense others' brainwaves, but it was like seeing a view without any issues.

However, this time, the brainwave actively attacked them, trying to invade their minds.

"How could this happen? Have we been discovered?" Huang looked nervously around.

"No, that's not it… It feels more like… a rampage!"

"A rampage?"

"Yes, exactly. Someone with brainwave abilities is rampaging nearby… damn it!" As he speculated who could be causing the rampage, a familiar memory suddenly rushed into his mind—the event when Peries' test with the Tieren collided with Allelujah's brainwave, triggering a rampage that attacked the space station! But... the timeline was wrong, wasn't this supposed to happen a month or two ago?

None of that mattered right now; what mattered was whether his guess was correct.

The answer came in the next moment: the entire space station shook violently, and outside the window, five gravity zones detached from the station, following a trajectory that would soon lead them to fall towards Earth.

"An accident? What exactly happened?"

"Now's not the time to investigate, Huang, what should we do now?"

Huang looked around at the others. Besides Tieria, who appeared somewhat cold, and Feldt, who was still waiting for orders, everyone else's eyes were sharp, signaling their intent to act.

"We'll go together. Huang, take Feldt and Christina and go first," Myer said, shaking his head to clear his mind before speaking to Huang.

"But…" Tieria immediately wanted to object. This was going beyond the original plan, and it could expose their presence.

"Tieria, we are…" Myer began, but they couldn't speak too openly as there were others nearby, even though everyone was distracted by the accident.

Everyone had already understood Myer's intentions.

"Mr. Myer is right."

"When it's time to act, we act, that's how a man should do things."

"We can't let them die while we stand by."

The Dilan brothers and Allelujah were the first to agree.

"…Okay, we'll provide support as soon as possible," Huang agreed. Though Christina, Feldt, and Allelujah didn't speak, their expressions showed their agreement—without a doubt.

"…I'll report this to VEDA."

Hearing that, everyone smiled. Tieria was acting as a typical tsundere—obviously agreeing but putting on a formal, reluctant attitude.

With the decision made, Huang along with Christina and Feldt, boarded the shuttle and rushed to the Ptolemaios, which was silently orbiting the solar power station, to provide intelligence support. Meanwhile, the six Gundam pilots headed to the cargo hold to board their Gundams and execute the rescue operation.

On the other side, Sergei had just managed to stop Peries' rampage, but significant damage had already been done.

"Control room, this is Sergei. Report on the damage to the gravity zones," Sergei immediately contacted the control room.

"Colonel, according to the emergency messages sent when the disaster occurred, gravity zones 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 have 479 people needing rescue."

"What about the rescue team?"

"The rescue team will depart in 7 minutes, and the escort team is also in emergency deployment. But due to the explosion shock and air leakage, the gravity zones' descent speed is rapidly increasing. In 14 minutes, they'll fall into Earth's gravitational pull!"

"What did you say?" Sergei understood the urgency of the situation immediately and made a quick decision. "I'm starting the rescue mission. Have someone retrieve the Lieutenant's mobile suit."

"But… with that massive weight…"

"Lives are at stake! And it's just the perfect chance to test the Zwei's maximum output!"

Before the control room could argue further, Sergei yanked the control lever, pushing the pedal down hard, and shot off towards the gravity zones.

"Whoa—!! Cough, cough, this acceleration is crazy… forget it, saving lives is more important!" Sergei was stunned by the sudden acceleration, taking another hit, but gritted his teeth and flew towards the gravity zones. He calculated that he only had a few minutes to push the gravity zones back into orbit before disaster struck.

"Let's see what you've got, Zwei!"

With full output, the engines roared to life, and the thrusters behind lit up, halting the gravity zones' descent and even slowly pushing them back.

Sergei was pleasantly surprised. He marveled at the power of the Zwei, being able to move such a massive weight. At this rate, the gravity zones would be safe in just ten minutes.

However… higher output also meant greater energy consumption. Not even a minute into his excitement, an alarm blared in the cockpit. Sergei looked down and saw the energy rapidly depleting. At this rate, it would only last for five minutes.

"Damn it! The energy's running out, I won't make it before the rescue team arrives, what should I do…" Thinking quickly, Sergei reduced the output to maintain the gravity zones' altitude, hoping to hold until the rescue team arrived, while urging the control room.

"Control room, this is Sergei. The remaining energy in Zwei will only last for ten minutes. The rescue team must launch in ten minutes!"

"Colonel! This is too dangerous! Please evacuate immediately, you are the military's hope, you can't…"

"Are you asking me to leave them to die?!" Sergei shouted. "We're soldiers! Protecting civilians is our duty!"

The control room fell silent, but Sergei could still hear the chaotic voices through the communications, urging the rescue team to hurry.

"Is it just up to fate now?" Sergei sighed. He had done all he could, but no matter the outcome, he wouldn't regret it, even if…

At that moment, Zwei's radar detected six mobile suits rapidly approaching. That speed… it could only be the Gundams.

"Gundams? That damn kid, always showing up at the most dangerous moments." Sergei smiled as he saw six Gundams arriving from the distance through the monitor.

Meanwhile, Myer began assigning tasks to the five pilots.

"Virtue, Dynames, Kyrios, Cherudim assist the Union MS in pushing the gravity zones back to the starting orbit. Also, notify the people in need of rescue to gather in the three central sections. Exia, assist me in cutting off the outer two sections."

"Understood." X5
