Chapter 72: Angelica(1)
A Few Days Later
Olivia sat at the table, delicately holding a cup of tea and offering a polite smile to Angelica. Following Leon's advice, she had decided to visit Angelica Redgrave and exchange pleasantries.
Throughout their conversation, Angelica maintained a formal tone—after all, her followers were present in the room, and she couldn't afford to engage in a casual chat with a commoner. However, at one point, she gestured with her hand, silently ordering her companions to leave the room.
Once they were alone, Angelica allowed herself to drop some of the formalities and spoke more candidly. She observed Olivia closely and soon noticed something rather curious.
"Honor student, who taught you etiquette?" she asked with slight surprise. "I assumed that nobles at the academy kept their distance from you because of your commoner background, yet you carry yourself as if you've been raised among aristocrats."
Hearing this, Olivia beamed with a bright smile.
"It was Leon. He helped me."
Angelica gave her a thoughtful look before clarifying:
"The third son of the Bartfort family? Viscount Leon Fou Bartfort?"
"Huh? U-uh, yeah, I think that's how he introduced himself…" Olivia replied, slightly flustered. Then, with curiosity, she asked: "Do you know him?"
Angelica smiled, a faint glimmer of amusement flashing in her eyes.
"Of course, I do. Not just me—the entire academy talks about him."
"The entire academy?" Olivia tilted her head slightly.
"Yes. His achievements at such a young age are astonishing. They say he could single-handedly take down the fleet of a small nation… though I suspect that's an exaggeration. But still, his feats are incredible." Angelica paused for a moment, allowing Olivia to process the information before continuing: "He discovered lands larger than any count's domain and, on his own, cleared out a third of the kingdom's sky pirates in just a year. And his first remarkable deed? That was back when he was still a child—before he even turned ten, he managed to defeat a small band of pirates."
Angelica fell silent for a brief moment, then, as if lost in thought, murmured to herself: "It seems he is not only talented but also a kind person… It wouldn't be a bad idea if he spoke with the prince."
"Wow… Leon is amazing," Olivia breathed, clearly in awe.
A small, uneasy thought crossed her mind: Am I really worthy of being friends with such an incredible person?.. But her doubts quickly faded as the conversation with Angelica continued.

If one were to study the history of the kingdom, they would learn that it was founded by adventurers. In honor of this legacy, the academy registers its students as adventurers and holds training sessions in which they explore dungeons. This is more than just an academic exercise—it is a way for students to experience firsthand the challenges their ancestors faced, allowing them to truly feel the spirit of adventure.
On this particular day, Leon and Olivia were part of the same group, taking part in yet another dungeon expedition. However, their mood was soured by the presence of certain individuals. Not too far from them, a group of five idiots was making their way through the dungeon, and just the sight of them was enough to make Leon feel nauseous.
And as fate would have it, history repeated itself at that very moment. Before them unfolded a scene straight out of the manga and novel: yet another heated clash between Angelica and Marie. Tensions flared, voices rose, and Angelica's sharp gaze was filled with contempt.
After a brief exchange of harsh words, the prince intervened, stepping between them and snapping in irritation:
"Angelica, stop! Step away from her!"
He no longer wished to be in her company. Instead, he chose to remain by Marie's side, along with those who had decided to follow him.
Angelica stood alone, watching as the prince and his group walked away. Her hands clenched into fists, her lips trembled, and her voice, though quiet, wavered with emotion:
"I… I just wanted… to be better…"
But at that moment, a voice rang out, making her flinch.
"Would you care to join me?"
The unexpected question caught her completely off guard. She turned around abruptly, struggling to comprehend who had spoken to her… and why.
