Moriarty: Blood and Shadows

A Silent War Begins

The city of London shivered under a thick fog.

The murder had been deliberate.

A warning.

Holmes and Moriarty stood in the crime scene's aftermath, the blood now dried but its meaning still fresh.

"Liar."

One word. A single declaration of war.

Jack wasn't fooled.

He was playing with them.

A Midnight Visitor

Moriarty sat alone in his study, the candlelight flickering against the dark wood of his desk. The air carried the scent of aged parchment and ink, yet something felt… off.

A shadow shifted in the corner.

He didn't react.

He knew who it was.

"You're late," he murmured, pouring himself a drink.

A chuckle echoed. "And you're surprisingly calm."

Jack stepped forward, his crimson eyes gleaming like embers.

Moriarty took a sip of his wine. "Why wouldn't I be?"

Jack tilted his head, amusement flickering across his features.

"Because, dear William… I'm no longer hunting London."

Moriarty smirked. "Ah. You're hunting me."

Jack's lips parted in a slow, lazy smile.

"And Holmes. But I suppose you already knew that."

Moriarty swirled his drink. "I had my suspicions."

Jack took a step closer. The air grew colder.

Moriarty noticed. A subtle shift.

Something inhuman.

Jack grinned.

"You're not afraid?"

Moriarty leaned back. "Should I be?"

Jack chuckled, his voice low, almost a purr.

"That depends. How well can you play the game, William?"

Moriarty's smirk never wavered.

"My dear Jack… I wrote the game."

The silence that followed was electric.

Then, Jack laughed.

Laughed like a man who had just found a worthy opponent.

And Moriarty knew—

The real hunt had begun.

The Detective's Realization

Holmes knew something was wrong.

He sat in Baker Street, Watson watching him with concern.

"You haven't said a word in an hour," Watson noted.

Holmes didn't respond immediately. His mind was racing.

Jack had left a message. A direct challenge.

But something didn't add up.

Jack wasn't just a killer.

He was something else.

Holmes' fingers drummed against the table. "There's something we're missing."

Watson frowned. "You think there's more to Jack than just murder?"

Holmes exhaled sharply. "He's changing the rules. And I suspect… we haven't even seen his true form yet."

Watson's expression darkened. "Then what are we dealing with?"

Holmes' eyes flickered to the candle on the desk. The flame wavered—just slightly—as if disturbed by something unseen.

He exhaled.

"Something not entirely human."

And in the silence that followed, both men realized—

They were already too deep.

The First Glimpse of Shadows

That night, as Holmes and Watson prepared for rest, a whisper floated through the empty halls of Baker Street.

Not a voice.

A presence.

Something unseen.

Watching.

Waiting.

And Holmes knew—

Jack wasn't just coming for them.

He was already here...
