Mountain Sitting Immortal

Chapter 360: Rescue Mission.

In the worst situation, the arrow would hit him, but it wouldn't do much damage to him because of his strengthened defense.

The obsidian-skinned man was just too powerful for a group of seventeen people to put down, no matter how well those seventeen people worked together.

Arthur could already imagine what would happen if the obsidian-skinned guy managed to reach the cultivators of the Dyson family. What he imagined was a scene of a lion falling amidst lambs.

His eyes flickered as he looked at the golden bow that the group of seventeen were using to shoot golden arrows. His eyes were drawn to their golden bows because they looked similar to his golden bow.

Eventually he sighed and said, "I do owe them."

He didn't want what he imagined to happen because of his Golden Bow.

The golden bow is a top-grade rank 3 weapon given to him by an elder of the Dyson family. He didn't know its value before when it was given to him. But he knows now.

The golden bow is a precious gift. So even though he didn't want to interfere in the hunt of a disciple from his sect, he decided to.

He wanted to repay Elder Calcetti by preventing the people from the Dyson family from being torn apart. And since he could do something about it, he decided to do something about it.

He took out the Golden Bow and infused it with lightning energy. This formed a blue, sparking arrow within the bow.

He turned the bow in the direction of the obsidian-skinned man. Then he released it.

The blue arrow sailed through the air with a flash of light and the booming sound of thunder. Then it crashed right in front of the obsidian man and exploded, throwing sand and grass everywhere.

He hadn't been targeting the obsidian-skinned man. He didn't do that because he had sworn an oath not to do so, and he wasn't willing to kill a disciple of the Blood Skull Sect for the Dyson family even if he could.

All he wanted to do was to stop the fight, and it worked. Both sides had dropped fighting and had turned to stare at him.

The obsidian-skinned man looked at him and asked, "What is the meaning of this?"

He put away the bow to signify that he didn't want to fight. Then he replied, "I'm saving them."

The obsidian-skinned man stared at him for a long while. During the stalemate, he analyzed Arthur using his yellow vertical pupils and his forked tongue.

He was trying to figure out how strong Arthur was and if he could defeat Arthur and the other 17 people at the same time. That's what mattered in this situation.

He didn't know Arthur and he didn't like Arthur, so he wasn't going to do Arthur a favor because Arthur asked for it. If he could defeat everyone, he won't mind fighting.

But he discovered that Arthur was dangerous. The lightning that he could taste in the air from the arrow shot earlier made his tongue tingle dangerously.

He decided that it was too dangerous to fight with Arthur alone, much less fight with Arthur and the other 17 people. So he decided to give up.

He said, "They may leave. But you owe me."

Arthur agreed with a sigh, "Fine. You get to have half of whatever I hunt next."

The obsidian-skinned man nodded in agreement.

With the two apex predators in agreement, Arthur was able to pardon the 17 lambs-to-be.

He said to them, "You may go. Extend my greetings to Elder Calcetti. Tell him that Arthur likes the bow very much and is still looking forward to touching him all over."

The 17 people nodded and went away. Most of them didn't know who he was.

Only the three people who had been on the airship that took him to the regional sect examination recognized him. But they didn't stick around to chat with him because the situation was sensitive.

The obsidian-skinned guy watched them leave with a narrowed gaze. Then he stopped looking at them after they walked too far away.

He walked over to Arthur and Thor. The three of them set off immediately.

Thor didn't talk to the new guy, and the new guy didn't want to talk either. But Arthur was curious, so he asked, "What's your name, and what is your special ability?"

The guy replied, "I am Strait, and my special ability is none of your business."

Arthur chuckled when he heard that name. He said, "What a coincidence. I am straight too."

Arthur thought the joke funny, but Strait wasn't buying it. He ignored Arthur and his jokes. Only Thor curled his lips in amusement.

Arthur saw Thor's reaction and said, "At least some of us have a sense of humor."

Strait still didn't speak. His lack of enthusiasm killed the mood. The three of them became silent since they had nothing to talk about.

Fortunately, it didn't take them long to meet a target. Actually, they heard the movements first because it was so loud. So they went in the direction of the loud noise and came upon quite the scene.

A group of people was chasing one person. The person being chased was a disciple of the Blood Skull sect and was a lady.

This was the first time they would be encountering something like this. Even weirder was that the group of people chasing her weren't all people. Most of them were corpses.

The lady from the Blood Skull sect was being chased by three disciples from the Black Bones sect. These three disciples had taken out 9 corpses each, so there were 30 entities in total chasing her.

The three disciples from the Black Bones sect were emaciated and black. They looked and even felt very similar to their corpses. The main difference between them and the corpses was that their movements were natural, not jerky like puppets.
