Chapter 24: Chapter 23: Teacher Mizuki

After Naruto successfully performed the Clone Jutsu, Iruka smiled with satisfaction.

"Congratulations, Naruto! You've graduated!"

The other students looked shocked. Just last month, during the test, Naruto had only managed to perform the Transformation Jutsu, while the other two were complete failures.

"Hmph! He just got lucky!" Sasuke, ever the proud one, scoffed. Meanwhile, Mizuki's expression changed—this was completely outside his expectations.

Naruto was supposed to fail. That's why Mizuki had specifically voted for the Clone Jutsu, knowing it was Naruto's weakest technique.

But Naruto had pulled it off on his first try, flawlessly. Mizuki couldn't even find an excuse to deny it.

Now, how was he supposed to comfort a disappointed Naruto and trick him into stealing the Scroll of Seals? Mizuki clenched his teeth, his face darkening as the fake smile he had been wearing disappeared.

Iruka knocked on the desk. "Alright, alright, settle down, everyone. Since you've passed the exam, you're now officially ninjas."

"Tomorrow, come back to the classroom. You'll be assigned your Jonin instructors."

"Class dismissed!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the room erupted into cheers.

"Yes! We finally graduated!"

"We're real ninjas now!"

Naruto was just as excited as everyone else. He rushed outside, but when he reached the school gates and saw his classmates happily reuniting with their families, his mood sank.

"It's fine. I just need to get stronger, revive my mother first, then find a way to track down Orochimaru."

He looked up at the Hokage Rock, staring at his father's face. His expression darkened even more as he slowly made his way home.

Not far ahead, a familiar figure appeared—it was Mizuki.

The moment Naruto saw him, he almost laughed out loud. He was curious to see how a powerless, low-ranking ninja would try to fool him now that he knew the truth.

Thinking about it, his mood suddenly lifted.

"Teacher Mizuki! What are you doing here?"

Mizuki bent down and smiled. "I was waiting for you, Naruto!"

"You were waiting for me?"

"Of course! How about I treat you to some ramen? To celebrate your graduation and becoming a real ninja."

If Naruto hadn't known that Mizuki was planning to use him to steal the Scroll of Seals, he might have felt genuinely touched—having someone accompany him at such a lonely moment, celebrating his achievement, and even buying him his favorite ramen.

Too bad…

"Really, Mizuki-sensei? Thank you so much!"

Naruto put on a perfect performance—his face filled with excitement, gratitude, and disbelief all at once. If he didn't win an award for this, it would be a crime.

"Of course! I wouldn't lie to you. Let's go!" Mizuki turned and headed toward Ichiraku Ramen.

"Come on, Naruto! Keep up!"

Soon, the two arrived at the ramen shop.

"Boss, one seafood ramen! Naruto, what do you want? Don't hold back, it's on me!"

"Then I won't be polite, Mizuki-sensei."

As they ate, Mizuki suddenly turned to Naruto and asked seriously, "Naruto, do you have a dream?"

Naruto froze for a moment, his chopsticks stopping mid-air.

"My dream? Hmm… my dream, huh?"

Then, as if he had been injected with pure energy, his whole body lit up with passion.

"My dream is to become the Hokage!"
