Chapter 25: Chapter 24: Whoever Wants the Sealing Scroll Can Have It

Mizuki heard what Naruto said and wasn't surprised at all. He continued, "Naruto, your dream is great, but you're too weak. Even among your classmates, your skills are at the bottom. How can you become Hokage like this?"

Hearing this, Naruto felt like he had just been hit by a cold wave, but deep down, he thought, "It's coming, it's coming!"

"Teacher, what should I do to get stronger and become Hokage? Can you help me?"

Seeing that Naruto had taken the bait, Mizuki was thrilled inside.

"Naruto, I'm just a regular genin. There's not much I can teach you that would make a big difference to your strength. But..."

Naruto hurriedly asked, "But what? How can I get stronger?"

"I can't say right now. Let's finish eating first, and then I'll tell you in a quiet place."

Naruto started eating faster. "Okay, teacher!"

Since both of them had their own thoughts, they finished the meal in no time.

In a quiet open area, Naruto eagerly asked, "Teacher, can you tell me now? I have to become Hokage!"

Mizuki patted Naruto's head.

"Naruto, there's a scroll that contains all kinds of powerful ninjutsu. If you learn even one of them, your strength will improve a lot. Your classmates won't stand a chance against you anymore."

"Really, teacher? That sounds amazing! I have to learn it! Once I do, I can beat Sasuke and become Hokage!" That's what he said out loud, but in his head, he was thinking, "Come on, the Sealing Scroll is that important—there's no way someone like me, who can't even use the Clone Jutsu properly, could actually steal it. The Third Hokage must be letting me take it on purpose so I can learn the Shadow Clone Jutsu, just like in the original story."

Mizuki was way too naive. Ninjutsu is strong, sure, but it depends on the person using it. Sasuke's Fireball Jutsu and Madara Uchiha's Fireball Jutsu—are they even close to being the same?

The First Hokage's Wood Release was on another level. He could summon an entire forest just by clapping his hands. But then you look at Yamato, who also uses Wood Release, and the difference is huge.

"Naruto, the scroll is hidden inside the Hokage's office. Wait until no one is around, take it, and bring it here. Then, I'll teach you how to use the jutsu inside. But remember, don't tell anyone about this."

Naruto had known all along what Mizuki was trying to do and was just playing along. Now it was time to wrap things up.

He acted like he was completely brainwashed and excitedly said, "Got it, Mizuki-sensei! No problem! I won't be Hokage anymore!"

Mizuki wasn't really paying attention and kept giving instructions. "Naruto, after you get the scroll, go to—wait, what did you just say?"

Naruto repeated, slowly and clearly, "I don't want to be Hokage anymore. It's too much trouble."

What the hell?! This isn't how the story is supposed to go!

"Well, if there's nothing else, I'm heading home!" Naruto turned around, waved, and walked away without hesitation.

Mizuki was still too shocked to react, standing there frozen as he watched Naruto leave.

With a swoosh, two ninja appeared next to Mizuki.

"By order of the Hokage, you're coming with us!"

Inside the Hokage's office, the Third Hokage was watching Naruto and Mizuki through his crystal ball. Everything was under his control.

He had assumed Naruto would follow Mizuki's instructions and steal the Sealing Scroll. He had even prepared a fake scroll for Naruto to take.

But now, with just one unexpected move—Naruto saying he didn't want to be Hokage—both Mizuki and the Third Hokage were left completely dumbfounded.
