Multiverse's Holy Right

Chapter 55: [55] This Is the 'Hand That Shatters the Cosmos'

[Note: This chapter will be an explaination of Roy's current abilities and the power system. Those familiar with A Certain Magical Index will easily understand, but it's fine if you aren't—details will gradually unfold through the story.]

Roy's Holy Right carries significant restrictions. First, to activate Light of the Right, it can only be used once every seven days—a temporal limitation.

However, compared to the time constraint, the conditional restrictions are even more stringent.

The true principle behind Light of the Right's guaranteeing victory lies in the fact that Light of the Right always exerts slightly more force than the enemy. It is an ability that scales with the opponent's strength—stronger against the strong, weaker against the weak.

Simply put, if the enemy's combat power is 50, Light of the Right activates with a power of 51. If the enemy's combat power is 100, Light of the Right activates at 101. No matter how strong the opponent is, Light of the Right will always surpass them, effortlessly securing victory.

The power of Light of the Right is entirely determined by the opponent's output, which is why Roy declared Marquis Voban's defeat the moment he used Otherland's Dragon.

Though Marquis Voban possessed numerous authorities, only a few could deal substantial damage to Campiones or Heretic Gods. Among them, Otherland's Dragon was his trump card—unused for eighty years. While not necessarily the most destructive, none of his other abilities surpassed it.

Destructive power has never been the sole measure of strength. Take Roy's Light of the Right—it may not appear overwhelmingly destructive, yet it guarantees 'victory.'

Thus, when Marquis Voban unleashed Otherland's Dragon, Roy declared all pieces had fallen into place. This was Marquis Voban's maximum output, and Light of the Right had already calculated it, enabling it to instantly overpower him with superior force.

The greatest flaw of the current Light of the Right is that Roy cannot control the magnitude of its power output, nor does he know the upper limit of his right hand's strength. At present, it is entirely triggered automatically, and whether he can use this ability depends entirely on Roy's grasp of timing and the battlefield.

To explain it in terms of game mechanics: if an enemy's maximum power value is 50, and Roy uses Light of the Right when the opponent is only exerting 40, then the power of Light of the Right would merely be 41—utterly insufficient to secure victory. Roy must wait until the opponent exerts their full power of 50 before activating this ability to instantly annihilate them.

Light of the Right is an ability that ensures Roy's power surpasses his opponent's when they play their trump card. In a way, it is similar to 'Fragarach,' but far more powerful—by an immeasurable degree.

This ability is nearly invincible against opponents of equal or slightly greater strength. However, it becomes utterly useless against foes who vastly outclass Roy, as such beings wouldn't even need to exert their full power to kill him—a casual attack would suffice.

'If only I could fully control the output of this hand...'

Roy sighed inwardly. He didn't know the upper limit of his right hand's power, but he had a vague premonition: if he could fully control its output, at the very least, he could crush the universe as effortlessly as the right hand described in the 'Book of the Law.'

Moreover, due to the weaving of the Book of 777, this hand also possessed 'all the miracles of Christianity.' Theoretically, Roy should be able to use it to resurrect the dead, overturn rules, distort mathematics, destroy the world, or even create a new one. If he could fully manifest 'the miracles of Christianity,' his standing would be equal to—or even surpass—that of a 'Magic God,' reaching the so-called 'Above God' tier.

In the power hierarchy Aleister himself devised, he broadly divided strength into two categories: 'Human' and 'Divine.' Aleister stood at the 'Pinnacle of Humanity'—he could have become a Magic God but chose to forsake it.

Within the Divine Realm, Aleister further divided it into three stages.

First Stage, Ordianary Magic Gods (8=3):

The first stage consisted of ordinary Magic Gods, denoted as '8=3,' representing the pinnacle of magical attainment. Such beings were infinitely close to 'omnipotence,' though while they could twist and alter everything, they couldn't necessarily restore it—thus, they couldn't be considered truly 'omnipotent.'

Second Stage, Above God (9=2):

The second stage transcended ordinary Magic Gods, allowing one's theories and ideologies to influence the multiverse—denoted as '9=2.' Magic Gods who reached this stage could truly be called 'Above God,' for they could not only distort everything but also restore it. To Roy's knowledge, only 'Othinus,' the 'One-Eyed Magic God,' had approached this realm. If Roy's right hand could fully manifest all 'miracles of Christianity,' it would also be capable of reaching this level.

[Note: In the actual Aleister Crowley's theory, the individuals he personally mentioned as having reached the '9=2' stage were Christ, Buddha, Laozi, Odin, etc. Therefore, my biblical system is quite close to Aleister's mysticism, and Odin is also known as Odin.]

Third Stage, One who is Oneself (10=1):

As for the final '10=1' stage, that was entirely Aleister's delusion—something even he couldn't comprehend, only labeling it as the 'One who is Oneself,' an existence that utterly transcends mortal understanding.

"However, to accomplish 'all the miracles of Christianity,' I need vast knowledge. What I currently possess is insufficient to achieve those miracles," Roy muttered to himself.

The difficulty of attaining the 'Ultimate Existence that comprehends all mysteries' was unimaginably high. In this endless multiverse, how many could truly reach that realm?

Thus, Roy had two major goals: first, to fully control his right hand, enabling it to truly wield the 'power to shatter the universe'; second, to exhaustively pursue all knowledge, allowing him to complete 'all the miracles of Christianity' and ascend to the 'Above Gods,' becoming the true Child of God!

But before achieving these two grand objectives, he had a smaller goal: to strengthen his current authority first...

Compared to those two lofty ambitions, it was wiser to grow stronger step by step. One couldn't become fat in a single bite, and taking too big a stride risked tearing something delicate.

Roy snapped back to reality, his gaze falling upon Marquis Voban, who had transformed into a black dragon lying prostrate on the ground. He raised his right hand, and a blood-red cruciform sword materialized in his grasp!
