"Haaa..." I let out a long sigh as I looked out the carriage window at the endless grassland and wheat fields.

Roa was about 8 hours on horseback from Villa Buena and we were only halfway there.

I hadn't brought a book or anything like that with me except for the sword Paul gave me and my clothes, I had nothing to entertain myself with.

"You're quieter than I thought," Ghislaine said, speaking for the first time since we left the villa.

"Yeah... There's not much to talk about after all," I said with a smile.

"Hmm... Tell me what you know about the job."

"I have to be the guardian of the mayor's daughter and I'll have a week off for every month I work," I told her.

"Huh? Just that? I didn't think your father passed on those habits to your mother..." Ghislaine said with a blank look.

'You must be referring to what Eris is like, but I'll play along.'

"Besides, I hope you don't seduce the young lady, after all, and from what I could see, you already have a girlfriend in the village," she murmured while a mocking smile formed on her face.

"Hmm... Not a bad idea, I'll act on what I see" I said with my best womanizing smile.

"hmmm..." She just nodded while looking away with...a blush on her face?.

*DING!*

[Charm increased +1!]

"..." I stood silently before the scene in front of me, Ghislaine maintained her stoic expression but the blush on her face and the way her tail wagged gave her away.

'Should I push my luck a little?...'

"I didn't think a woman like you would work in Roa. If I had known, I would have applied for a job sooner," I said.

In response she simply looked at me sideways and laughed softly while shaking her head.

"If I had known I'd have to work with you, then I would have stayed as an adventurer." She replied and I shrugged.

'Well, my head is still in place, so it works!'

"hmm... Also, because of the way you dress, doesn't it bother you if someone tries to harass you? Many people would feel tempted to do it, doesn't it bother you?

"Hmm? Like who?" She replied, resting her head on her hand with a smile and a raised eyebrow.

"Hmm, I don't know, maybe I" I whispered to her "it would be worth it for such a beautiful woman," I replied.

"...You're good kid, your father wasn't that good with words" she said while ruffling my hair tightly.

"Keep trying and maybe in my mating season I'll let you into my bed," she whispered.

"Hmmm, consider it a fact," I said with a mocking smile.

She just shook her head with a smile and her eyes closed and we fell silent again...

...

Another four hours passed slowly until I could finally see Roa in the distance.

The flirting I had with Ghislaine seemed to lighten the mood a bit as she continued talking to me a couple of times and from her body language I could tell for sure that she was getting excited with lust.

But that behavior disappeared when we crossed the walls of Boreas Castle and his stoic gaze returned.

The carriage stopped in front of the two huge wooden doors from the entrance to the castle and in front of it there were several Maids of the beast races who, upon seeing me, squirmed slightly and blushed.

"Welcome to the Boreas mansion, you must be Rudeus Greyrat right?" A fat man with a large build said and I nodded.

'Ah, this must be Thomas... the bastard Darius has as a spy...either Philip is really stupid or he let it happen, this guy literally screams "I'm a suspect!!'

"Yes, it's me. I came for the job of tutoring the young lady," I replied.

"Okay, please follow me," he said and walked into the castle.

Ghislaine followed behind us, her face impassive but her tail still moving slightly, she must still be excited...

After walking for a few minutes, Thomas led us to a room with two sofas. I sat on one and the man poured me wine...

Ghislaine, on the other hand, stood in a corner of the room, crossed her arms, and closed her eyes.

*Thump!, Thump!, Thump!!*

Shortly after I heard the sound of footsteps that were getting louder and louder followed by a loud "where is he?!"

'shit...'

*baaam!!*

The doors in front of me opened with a loud bang revealing a muscular, slightly gray-haired man.

"So it's you?!!, you're the brat that Paul abandoned?!" Saurus shouted with fury but I felt that it was not directed at me.

"Yes sir, my name is Rudeus Greyrat, at your service," I said bowing to the Asuran nobility.

"Hmm! What a shameless father to abandon such a well-behaved child!! I'll allow you to stay!!" Saurus shouted and just as he entered he left the room without looking back.

'Hmm...that turned out better than I expected'

"Oh my... Has he arrived yet? Or why is my father in such a good mood?" Said a man with dark brown hair and a wine red suit, at first glance I can tell this guy is what you would call "Cunning Fox"

"Yes, my name is Rudeus Greyrat," I said, bowing the same way I did before.

"Oh my... You look just like Paul... I hope you're not just like him..." He said in a whisper and I could see out of the corner of my eye how Ghislaine had a slight smile on her face.

"I'm trying to improve... I have a family to take care of, after all."

"Yes, that's true," he said, looking at the ceiling and then looking me up and down, scanning me.

"Did your mother tell you about the job?"

"Yes, she told me what was necessary," I replied.

"Just enough, huh?" He muttered as he closed his eyes, letting out a long sigh.

"I honestly don't have any expectations for you. Older, more experienced people have tried and failed, so why would you be any different?"

"Because my life literally depends on this, you are my only hope, so please give me a chance," I said as I looked into his eyes.

He narrowed his eyes in the same way, we remained silent for about ten seconds but then a smile formed on his face.

"Hah! Where are my manners! My name is Philip Boreas Greyrat, If you're so sure then follow me!" He said as he got up from the couch and left the room.

...

"Eris! dear!~" Philip knocked on a door with a hopeful smile on his face.

"What do you want?!" A girl's squeaky voice answered on the other end and Philip's smile faltered.

"Ahem! I've brought you another tutor! Open the door please!" The man's tone of voice was pathetic at this point.

*bam!*

The door swung open revealing a girl with intense red hair, her lips were shaped like an inverted V and her arms were crossed.

The typical Eris pose.

"What?! This is my tutor?! This kid is younger than me!!!" She screamed making my eardrums rumble.

"I don't think age has anything to do with learning, young lady," I said, approaching her.

"What did you say?!" She yelled as she approached me with clear hostile intentions.

"What you heard, I feel I am more than capable of teaching you," I said and immediately a fist was directed at me.

But I dodged it easily and the same momentum made Eris stagger slightly.

"What are you doing?! Stay still and get what you deserve!!" She screamed.

"Why should I? You're trying to hit me for no reason," I replied.

"For no reason at all? Who the hell do you think you are? Spoiled children get what they deserve!" She continued screaming while continuing to throw punches at me which I easily dodged.

"Enough Eris! You'll never be able to hit him with that stiff stance!" Ghislaine suddenly said making the girl even angrier.

'Which side are you on, kitty?!'

"Shut up! I have to put this brat in his place!"

"Don't you dare try that with me, miss!!" Ghislaine said now intervening in the fight and grabbing Eris by the neck as if she were a cat.

"nngh!! Let me go!!" She screamed while throwing punches in the air and looking at me with murderous intent.

"No, it's time for your training, he will be your new tutor whether you like it or not." Ghislaine's tone was firm so Eris remained silent and so she took her away.

I looked behind me and Philip had an amused smile on his face and Thomas was looking at me in amazement.

"So, what do you think? Is this more than you can handle? You still have time to resign." Philip's tone was provocative; it was clear he didn't expect anything from me.

I simply smiled as I crossed my arms.

"I'll take the job. Your daughter can still be saved at this age," I said as I crossed my arms.

I swear I could see a vein popping out on Philip's forehead as he looked at me. Even with his fake smile, he spoke:

"Oh? And what solutions do you have for her? As I said before, many older and more experienced tutors than you have tried without success. Even if you resort to violence, she'll just attack you in your sleep," he said, then shrugged.

I raised an eyebrow in slight surprise at this, but I didn't waver.

"It's easy. I've noticed that Ghislaine is the only person she respects," I said, looking him in the eyes. He frowned slightly but didn't respond. "I'm advanced in the Sword God and Water God styles. When she sees that a boy younger than her is better at the one thing she's interested in, she'll naturally feel jealous, and that's where I'll come in to tell her what I did to be so strong so young," I explained.

Philip's expression was unreadable, and Thomas, behind him, looked at me as if he'd won the jackpot.

"..." After a few long seconds, Philip spoke. "I see... that might work. I'll allow you to proceed with your plan."

I just nodded and headed to where Ghislaine had taken Eris.

*Ding!*

[Earn Eris's respect before the day is over!]

Reward: Demon Eye of "X-Ray Vision"

"..." I stood in the middle of the hallway as a new reward from the system was offered.

"X-Ray Vision..."

A smile immediately spread across my face, and I quickened my pace toward Ghislaine.

...

"Haaaa!!!"

"Too slow! Distribute your grip on your sword more evenly!"

"Tch!...Haa!"

"Too slow! Have you forgotten the footwork I taught you?!"

Ghislaine and Eris's screams echoed throughout the training grounds. If all went well with my strategy, Eris would see me with new eyes at the end of the day.

"Ghislaine!" I called, and she glanced at me as she effortlessly dodged one of Eris's attacks.

"Hmm? What's wrong? Do you need something?" She asked.

"Yes, I want to train with you," I replied with a smile as I grabbed a wooden sword.

"Tch! Get lost, brat! What do you know about swordplay?!" Eris shouted indignantly, but I ignored her as I got into a fighting stance.

"You!!" She roared.

"That's enough for today, Eris. Watch carefully," Ghislaine said suddenly, getting into a fighting stance as she glared at me.

"B-but...ugh!" Eris pouted, and sat down on the ground as she glared at me with murderous intent.

"...ha!" With a swift movement, I lunged at Ghislaine without holding back and immediately swung a Longsword of Silence at her.

The attack moved faster than the speed of sound, but for Ghislaine, this was nothing, as she counterattacked with her own Longsword of Silence. I was already expecting it, so I repelled her attack using "Flow."

I could see the surprise cross Ghislaine's eyes for a split second, but she quickly recovered and raised her sword from its repelled trajectory, now aimed at my neck.

I could barely react as our swords collided, but the force of the attack sent me flying a few meters. With wind magic, I was able to land like a cat.

"Wow! You weren't lying!" Ghislaine said, a smile forming on her face.

Behind her, Eris looked at me with an expression that was a mix of confusion, astonishment, and frustration.

"Okay... let's keep it up!" I said, getting into a fighting stance and lunging at Ghislaine again.
