Chapter 120: Fierce Battle II

Fierce Battle II

Cold

Cold

Cold

'It's so cold!' Titus screamed in his mind.

The descent of the whiteness was brought by a skill Lenax used, and it was a Blizzard-type attack.

But it was far more harrowing than any Blizzard one could find.

Even with his territory active, Titus could feel the heat in his body getting sapped at an alarming speed. And it wouldn't be long before he was utterly frozen both inside and out.

He had a few seconds at most.

'But what can I do?' Despite the terrible situation, Titus didn't panic. Instead, he became calm, very, very calm.

His mind instantly got to work.

In truth, he had a way to stave off the damage. The problem was that that method wouldn't last forever, and even if he was able to save himself, he wasn't sure if the others could do the same. And he held no illusions of being able to defeat Lenax by himself.

And so he cleared his panic and fear and entered a state of battle clarity. He drowned everything out. His worry for his allies and the future.

And then he moved.

The first thing he did was activate the second ability of Veylthar that he had access to.

'Mana Cancel.' He thought.

Immediately, the area around him was cleared. It was too fast to catch, but if one had been quick enough, they'd have sensed that the Mana around Titus suddenly surged into his sword at a staggering rate. And there was no discrimination between where the Mana was gotten from.

As such, a vast majority of the absorbed Mana was taken in from the Blizzard around Titus, which stopped the biting Cold from harming him any further.

Still, he wasn't done.

The skill Mana Cancel could do two things. It could either completely cancel the surrounding Mana for a period of time, or it could absorb it into the sword itself and enhance it.

The problem with the second one, however, was that it was very hard to control, and if Titus wasn't careful, the energy could explode outwards and harm him and those close to him.

Moreover, this was Mana belonging to Lenax of all people. It was a clone, but its density was still in another realm.

Usually, Titus wouldn't even consider trying to absorb the Mana into his sword. But right now, that was the only viable option that he saw. And he wasted no time in taking in.

The moment the Mana got absorbed into his Sword, Titus felt his hands shake as the overwhelming energy threatened to erupt. However, he didn't panic or falter.

Instead, he tightened his grip on Velthar, then he entered a thrusting stance and exhaled, which caused mist to come out of his mouth.

He fixed his gaze on a certain spot, and the muscles in his body tensed as he poured his Mana into his already Mana rich weapon.

Then, with a yell, he thrusted forward.

There was a brief flash, then there was a roar, one filled with anger and... pain.

The Blizzard dispersed, and there were many exclamations of pain. Somehow, none of the members of the group had been taken out by the cold, but many of them were close to it.

The dragons had been the closest to the center of the attack, so they had sustained the most damage. With Tristan being the luckiest one as his Affinity dampened the damage quits a but.

However, the same couldn't be said for Zephyr and the other dragons. Ice covered most of their bodies, and their wings were frozen solid. As such, they had plummeted to the ground.

One of them was even missing a limb as it had frozen and broken off.

The others weren't much better, as no one had the same durability as the dragons. So even if they weren't as close to the center as them, the damage they received was still quite bad.

Many of them were showing pretty severe signs of frostbite, and they were all struggling to use their Mana to clear off the cold.

The people who had it the best it seemed were Titus and Aisha. Titus because he had managed to stop himself from being harmed pretty early on, and Aisha because she had been at the very back and had known the attack was coming, so she was able to defend herself somewhat reasonably. So, the damage she received was minor.

Still, most of them were injured. Which wasn't good in the slightest due to who they were fighting.

That said, after Titus' last attack, Lenax wasn't exactly unscathed either.

The Dragon had been forced to descend because ths thrust had completely pierced through its shoulder and almost completely severed the wing on that side of its body.

Blood flowed out in copious amounts and stained the shattered blue floor red.

"Fuu~," Titus exhaled as he stared at Lenax, who stared back at him with rage filled eyes.

Now, it was clear that Titus had the ability to damage Lenax, and not only that, but he had forced him to the ground, which should make their job a little bit easier, at least.

"Well then." Felicia walked to his side and held her Rapier out in front of her. There was some ice on its surface, but it was still sturdy enough.

"Follow my lead, alright?" Felicia said softly, and Titus nodded before changing his stance to match hers.

'This should make things a little easier.' Aisha's voice sounded in their minds, and suddenly, a string of images flashed in their heads.

It only took them a moment to realise that she was sharing what she was seeing in fate directly instead of simply telling them.

'Thanks.' Titus thought and focused his gaze forward.

At this point, everyone else had gotten up somehow, and they were all prepared to meet charge forward.

Though, it was also at this point that they decided to implement the other part of their plan.

Suddenly, a ball of energy appeared at the peak of the cavern and pulsed before chains of multicolored light erupted from it and descended downwards.

It was incredibly fast, and the chains were truly numerous, as such, Lenax was able to avoid being caught by them.

However, even then, he could still move and use his magic.

But that was fine. They just needed to slow him down.

They had spent a lot of effort into creating this binding, and now was their chance to make the opportunity count.

Without another word, Titus and Felicia dashed forward with blinding speed.

Lenax roared andcountkess spikes erupted from the ground, but with Felicia's ability, the two of them were able to avoid getting impaled.

Still, the closer they got, the harder it became to avoid the attacks as Lemax wasn't pulling his punches one bit.

Ice lances rained from the air, and the ground would explode into shards of ice, chains of ice would materialise and try to bind them, and so on.

Titus gripped Velthar tightly as he continued to follow his sister's movements, her eyes processing information at impossible speeds. And with the added bonus of Aisha's magic, they were making some headway.

But even then, they weren't moving fast enough.

And so the others joined in.

A swarm of ice chains erupted from the ground around the duo and tried to close in on them like a net, but there was a flash of blue followed by the rumbling of thunder and then all the chains were suddenly sliced apart.

Raya could be seen brandishing her katana as she turned to intercept another round of attacks.

'Don't bother dodging and just keep running forward!' Curtis yelled through the telepathic Titus, and Felicia did just that.

They gave up on dodging and just sprinted straight for Lenax, who roared and increased the rate at which he attacked them.

But Curtis words rang true as everyone in the group poured all their energy into defending the duo no matter what.

Lenax roared and prepared to use its Dragon's breath once more, but then Curtis appeared above it's head and Nova whipped forward and wrapped around its mouth. Then Han came next to him and grabbed onto the chain as well, and the two brothers pulled with all their might.

Which didn't amount to much and only kept the mouth closed for about a second before they were thrown off. Still, that gave Tristan enough time to summon a literal glacier on top of Lenax's head, and that was enough to cancel the breath attack.

The Dragon roared and unleashed countless blades of frigid wind to cut apart the duo, but the Wolf Demihuman and the dragons stepped up and used their bodies to endure the onslaught, enduring heavy damage in the process, but allowing Titus and Felicia to finally close the distance.

The Dragon's nostrils flared, and it raised its claws to engage in close combat. And that's when the last part of the plan was implemented.

Felicia suddenly moved a step ahead of Titus, and in the far back, even behind Felicia, the female Centaur who hadn't appeared in the battle this whole time suddenly stood straight.

If there was one thing that looked similar at the moment between them, it would be that their eyes were glowing.

"Blissful Ignorance."

"Petrificatiom Stare."

Two powerful moves were activated at once.
