Chapter 119: Fierce Battle I
Fierce Battle I
"Everybody Jump!" Aisha yelled with urgency and no one even considered thinking and just jumped as high as possible, including the dragons.
And the warning was timely too as an instant later, spikes of ice emerged from the ground with the clear aim of impaling them.
And it didn't stop there either.
As if they had a mind of their own, smaller ice spikes shot out of the ones that had already emerged and this process repeated at unbelievable speeds and chased after each of the members of the cohort.
Everyone immediately used their means of flight to get away from the spikes and moved into position.
Titus just managed to get out of the range of the spikes when he suddenly heard Aisha's voice in his mind.
'Move!' Once more, he didn't even think and shot to the side. And not a moment too soon either, as an instant later, a massive gash appeared on the ground, and Titus felt his heart skip a beat.
'That would have sliced me into three pieces.' It was a scary thought, but not one he had time to entertain.
It was already clear that Lenax was targeting him. Even now he felt the cold gaze of the creature on him and he had to resist a shudder.
The fight had just started and he had almost died already. That wasn't a good sign.
Still, no one lost their cool, and everyone immediately moved to play their roles.
With a mighty roar, Zephyr shot toward Lenax like a bullet and the two collided, resulting in a titanic explosion that shook the cavern.
Titus felt the gaze leave him and he exhaled slightly, but he didn't drop his guard for any reason.
He was much stronger now. But even then the fight was a blur for him. So he wasted no time and activated his strongest enhancement-based skill.
Light and wind surged around his body and Veylthar materialised in his hand instantly.
Felicia appeared next to him a moment later. Her pink eye had turned completely pink, and the whites of that eye were nowhere to be seen. And her Aura had become noticeably sharper as well. Clearly, she wasn't holding back either. Find exclusive content at empire
Actually, no one was holding back. Which wasn't surprising, since they couldn't afford to.
All the dragons had already joined up with Zephyr to go against Lenax, all of them enhancing themselves as best as they could and fighting with all their might.
He could also see his brothers there as well, doing their best to stave off the worst attacks Lenax unleashed, and the Wolf Demihuman who had transformed into something akin to a werewolf was unleashing powerful sound-based attacks.
Titus could see Raya and the other subordinates the leaders had brought along with them also doing their best to harm Lenax.
And yet despite everything, they were still being suppressed, badly.
It was so bad that despite being some distance away, Titus and Felicia were STILL under attack!
They weren't even in the thick of it, and yet the Dragon was able to spare enough of its attention to attack them, well, mostly Titus, but still that was both incredible and terrifying.
Granted, with most of the pressure being endured by the members at the forefront, Felicia and Titus had a far simpler time avoiding attacks. But they both knew that the moment they got close, things would get hectic very quickly.
As for Aisha, she had retreated to the back and had forsaken her bow, and instead took on the rule of coordinator.
Sweat covered her brow as her hands danced through the air. She couldn't affect Fate a lot since Lenax was considerably more powerful than her and everyone else here, but she was still doing what she could.
At the same time, she'd transmit her thoughts to each person with uncanny precision, allowing them to know of an attack ahead of time and deal with it accordingly.
It all seemed very Chaotic, but in actuality, it was a tight game of precision. The only issue was that the members of the group absolutely could not afford to make a mistake.
Lenax flapped his wings and a massive Blizzard formed instantly. The temperature of the already cold room was reduced to a dangerous degree and most of the people there had to retreat as just being close caused ice to form on different parts of their bodies.
The Dragon Tristan, however, charged forward and let out a powerful roar and spread his wings wide, and another force, albeit weaker, appeared and clashed with the much larger Blizzard.
It was overpowered, unsurprisingly. But it had weakened the attack enough for everyone to defend against it properly.
Still, the clone had no intention to just watch.
'It's targeting Titus again! Get ready to defend!' Aisha said grimly and Titus tensed up.
He felt the energy before he saw it, and he looked up just in time to see Lenax unleash his Dragon's breath.
'Aw come on!' He cursed. If that thing hit the ground then it wouldn't even matter if he dodged.
Immediately, Zephyr, Tristan, and the two other dragons flew in the path of the Dragon's breath and let out their own breath attacks.
The four beams merged into one larger attack and clashed against the one Lenax released.
The collision sent powerful shockwaves throughout the cavern, way worse than before, and cracks started to appear along its sides, and chunks of ice fell from the ceiling.
But no one had the time to pay attention to those as the merged beam was swiftly overpowered and the dragons had to move out of the way to avoid getting frozen into ice sculptures.
However, the force behind the attack was still too dreadful, so they still tried to lessen it at least.
Curtis was the next person to do this as he too entered the oath of the attack and stretched his hand forward. Nova surged forward before making a loop that faced the beam. And a magic circle formed inside this loop before a powerful beam of Plasma erupted from it and met the breath attack.
The strength behind it was diminished again before it overpowered the beam of plasma, to which Curtis swiftly jumped out of the way.
Then Han stepped in as well and yelled as he increased the density of the air in front of him so much that it formed a black hole.
The black hole absorbed quite a bit of the attack before being overpowered, and the remnant energy of the attack was what reached Titus who already had his sword raised, his expression sharp.
Right before being hit, he swung down with a yell and the attack was bisected in two, causing it to go in two different directions.
'Look out!' Titus jumped out of the way and the spot he was in instantly exploded into shards of ice.
It didn't stop there though as Titus kept on jumping out and about as the ground exploded violently. The cause was Lenax who was actively trying to crush him.
'Dammit!' Titus cursed as he poured all his energy into dodging. Even a graze would be detrimental, talk less of taking any of the hits head-on.
In fact, one of the reasons he hadn't been hit yet was because Felicia had cast an Illusion on him, so he seemed closer than he really was which allowed him to have an easier time dodging. Though, said easier tike wasn't easy at all.
Then suddenly, there was a flash before a bright light illuminated the room and the assault on Titus halted for a moment as Raya, Titus' second, unleashed a devastating thrust of lightning using her sword.
It carried enough force to make Lenax's head whip to the side, though the damage was nonexistent, it had given Titus a moment to breathe at least.
Han appeared above it at that moment clenched his fist, giving it the qualities of a hammer before drastically increasing its mass and weight.
He descended with a yell and his fist smashed into the top of Lenax's skull, causing its large body to stagger.
Not stopping there, Han put his hands on the Dragon's head and grunted as he proceeded to make it as heavy as possible.
Then Zephyr came in from below and bit into his neck and tightened his jaw and tensed his body as much as possible. Intending to hold him in place.
The other three Dragons wasted no time either. The two under Zephyr went to Lenax's sides before unleashing their Dragon's breath directly into him. Tristan flew above him and materialised several ice lances that descended on Lenax's back like powerful missiles.
The destruction caused was staggering, but for a moment, they seemed to have held him in place.
For a moment anyway.
'Everyone move.' That was the only warning they got, then the world was engulfed in a sea of white.
